    French toast

So I came here on a whim, and the food made it worth it. On the day that I came, the service was not super great. But everyone has bad days. I had to wait like 10 minutes just to get water and a menu (there were only 3 other tables occupied so it was not crowded). For it to not be full, it felt like they forgot I was in the corner. But again, it can happen to anyone. Now the food was a different story. I got the double cheeseburger and fries. The waitress said that the French toast was "off the chain" so of course I had to try that too. Sounds like gluttony, maybe it is.. But whatever lol. Once I got my waitresses attention, I was all good good. Paige waited on me and I appreciated her asking and remembering my name. Gave it a personal touch! So the hamburger was more of a homemade kind of burger and not something you would expect by being a pre-made patty. It gave off kind of a picnic kind of vibe. And I like that! The French toast was amazing. It looked like regular bread as all French toast does, but the amount of cinnamon they put on that joint was amazing. It was perfectly flavored. You can taste all of the cinnamon and all the nutmeg. I only get two slices of bread, but I would have got a third piece if I had known the first house is going to be that good! Also to note, they have a bar at the front where you can do your own food in a buffet style. I didn't get that because I wanted to get breakfast and burgers, but they have other dinner things. Like beans or mashed potatoes. It's just an option. But I would love to go back, for a full order of french toast, if nothing else! Once the service guy going, the service was good. As I was leaving there a lot of people coming in and it looks like it's super popular! I can see why.

This place is good, clean, and delicious! It's very popular with older folks. The prices are great! Everything is fresh and you can watch them cooking on the grill and the ingredients they use.

After reading the great reviews, we were excited to try the breakfast here. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. This is a basic/no frills restaurant, which is fine, however I didn't realize we would be eating on paper plates and utensils. Not sure if thats due to Covid, or its their standard practice. My husband had the eggs, toast, grits and a pancake. Pretty standard. I had a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. That was good.....However, after one bite of those seasoned home fried I had enough. They taste and smell like fish. Oh no! Urgh! I asked the waitress if they deep fry them in the same grease as fish, she said no and asked me to give them back (so she could let the cook taste it). Never heard back on that, but I did ask for hash browns instead. Those were better. We just really didn't find anything special here worth coming back for. :( Apparently they do offer some sort of meat plus 2 veggie lunch that may be popular.

The service was already terrible when we were told to sit down wherever and then this guy comes out of nowhere and sits us down at a terrible spot, and keeps coming back to asks questions even when we ordered steak he came back to ask what temperature which is very odd because it's normally asked when you order THE steak. Dreamland faces the back towards Abbots Bridge Road, there's a large parking lot out front but good luck finding parking there, especially on busy weekends. I recommend going around the corner and parking in front of Coleman Middle School across the street (when school is out of session like on weekends). Otherwise I'd time my visits to off-hours and during the week day. Where to begin with this one? I was a frequent visitor to the Dreamland BBQ that occupied a free-standing building on Peachtree Parkway, just south east of the Forum. From what I remember that building had a fire and I believe that this location is where the restaurant ended up. To start, this is a massive space with high ceilings, a large bar and plenty of seating - very different from the cozy confines of the original location. We attended the exceptional Le Bon fest held by Goodword Brewing nearby and being ready for something more substantial than a few oysters, we ended up at Dreamland. It took a while to be seated as there wasn't anyone out front - there was one booth already seated in an otherwise empty restaurant, so it could be our timing wasn't the best. We ended up being seated at the bar and our server was delightful, super nice and personable. When I went to the restroom to wash my hands, as soon as I touched the single sink valve, water geysered into the air about 4 feet. The other sink wasn't working at all. Anyway I managed, and also reported what was happening as there really wasn't a way to turn it off. My friend Ken ordered the roasted chicken with a double side of green beans. I ordered the half-slab and deferred ordering any sides as from experience, 6 bones tend to be a lot of meat. What I received was something of a joke - the bones were tiny and hardly had any meat on them filling about half the basket. Now I understand that sometimes getting the smaller side of a rack, you end up with less food, but this was somewhat ridiculous. It's been a long time since I've left a BBQ place hungry, but there it is. If the service had been bad I probably would have left a 1 star review, but I'll give the place the benefit of the doubt. Very disappointing.

My wife loves the music atmosphere in the building, you can also see other customers grooving to the music so they know how to please their customers ears. I love the artwork they have in the back, makes you feel like a NY graffiti alley. I find it very interesting I guess since I'm interested in this type of art. Now for the service, every time we come by we always run into a very nice & sweet lady but we can tell one of the employees does have an attitude from the group. I'm glad we didn't have to deal with her, life is stressing but when you come to work it's best to leave the attitude behind & put your best A game while you're at work. Let's go now with food, I enjoy soul food. It's just some kind of food that gets you stuffed. Makes me feel like I'm enjoying a home cooked meal, their food is delicious. I'm not picky & I don't like down shamming anyone's business. That's not how I roll, I have a business myself & I know I'd dislike someone who understands situations or value of what they do. But, I did have an issue on the temperature of the food. It comes out lukewarm & it's a little disappointing because you're waiting at least 10-15 mins before you get your food. I would atleast appreciate the food being a little warmer. In this order, my wife got oxtails with Mac & Cheese & Fried Okra. She was pleased with her order! I love their cornbread muffin, it has amazing flavors! I got the honey croissant this time with my smoked chicken, it wasn't bad but I guess I was digging the honey on the croissant. Chicken was good, i enjoyed it & the veggies are great. I got steam cabbage, their seasonings were amazing. I also got veggies, they came out great. I absolutely admire their fresh squeezed agave lemonade! It tastes amazing, I recommend anyone to give it a try. I made a sun-joy out of it! I can't complain, their food will get you stuffed for the prices they have going on here. Each plate is around $15.00-24.00.

The turkey wings were not fresh again! They were baked some other day, reheated yesterday & served to customers. The meat was dried out & old tasting-definitely left over from a few days before yesterday. The cabbage was left over to o& or over cooked but didn't seem freshly made. We decided to join their waitlist online, which was a great choice--it significantly shortened our wait time, and we appreciated receiving a text when our table was ready so we could head right in. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, so I definitely recommend joining the waitlist or making reservations ahead of time if possible. I've heard they also have another location in Atlanta, Georgia, where parking is required and they offer specialty lemonades. The vibe here was really nice--great music, friendly staff, and beautiful decor. We especially loved the thoughtful touch of flowers on the tables in honor of Mother's Day. Our waitress was kind, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk us through the menu, including specialty items and pricing. For food, we ordered the shrimp and waffles, chicken tenders with waffles, and the catfish plate, which comes with two sides--we chose potatoes and eggs. Everything was delicious and well-prepared. We also tried their lemonades, which come in a variety of flavors like strawberry, pineapple, and blueberry, and they are refillable. The only downside for us was that they only offer bottled water--we would have preferred the option of having a regular cup of ice water at the table. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was flavorful, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. Pricing is around $20+ per person. I just wish they had a location like this in Arizona!

I was really looking forward to trying the oysters, but I didn't realize their menu changes often so unfortunately, no oysters this time. A little sad about that! We decided to order pretty much everything off the à la carte menu. Overall, the food was just okay to me. The Brussels sprouts were the hardest to eat they were basically raw, just thinly sliced with sauce poured over. It would've been much better if they were at least steamed or grilled a bit. The mushrooms, though, were absolutely BOMB! If I didn't know what it was, I would've thought it was some sort of meat dish super soft, flavorful, and delicious. Definitely the highlight of the meal. The Wagyu, on the other hand, was a big disappointment. For the price, it was tough and chewy when it should've been buttery and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Overall, the place is cute and the vibes are nice, but the food was overpriced for what it was. I'd only come back for those mushrooms they were that good.

I placed an order for everything on the carte menu. Food was fun and a few of the dishes caught me off guard, in a good way. Pros. We loveeed the maitake mushrooms. This dish was one dish my friend and I had low expectations for. Ironically it's the only dish we would go back for! The bucatini I also had low expectations for. I hardly order pasta, from non pasta specialty places, because the pasta is 99% of the time going to be overcooked. BUT this bucatini was cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce was rich but not too heavy and just enough to cover the noodles without drowning. The crab taste was pretty faint. If it weren't listed on the menu I wouldn't even think it were in the dish. Cons. The brussel sprout salad was honestly almost inedible. It is a raw shaved brussel sprout salad, dressed as a Caesar salad. Although not bad tasting, the core of the sprouts was not tender but dry and hard. There was also a lot of it. Most disappointing was the "waygu ribeye". The quality was pretty horrible. The piece we got had silver skin as well as chunks of fat. I wish I got a picture of the leftover fat from the steak but if you look at my picture you can clearly see slices of just fat. I love a little fat on a well cooked ribeye and do not mind paying for it. But paying $50 for a probably 8oz "waygu" ribeye with only half of it palatable is wild. Regardless, I'm actually going back in a couple of days with my husband because of those amazing mushrooms.. though as I am writing this review I'm debating on canceling my reservation, ordering the mushrooms to go, and just going elsewhere. lol
