Fast service, and good food quality! Came in for a lunch with my mum and partner. The food was great, and fresh! Good pricing and enough portion per serving definitely coming back again soon.

There is nothing famous about this restaurant. It's your typical American Chinese food. The decor was minimal and feels like I was in a Diner instead of a Chinese restaurant. We've ordered a family style to share among 5 of us. Chicken & Corn Soup 3/5, Beef with Broccoli 4/5, General Tso's chicken 3/5, Szechuan Eggplant, 4/5 and Salt & Pepper Pork 2/5. The soup barely had any chicken. Little to no seasoning for the pork. General Tso's chicken was more like sweet and sour chicken. The food was just mediocre overall. How was service? What service? I think it's a family owned restaurant with two servers. He basically took our orders, deliver the food and that was it. Didn't follow up with us. Didn't ask if we needed more tea. We had to ask for the check. Nope, will not be back.

Overall experience: 3 Customer service: 4 Location: 5 Affordability: 4 Quality: 3 We placed a takeout order on May 29th, 2023 for chicken fried rice and spring rolls. We decided to give this Chinese restaurant a chance, because they had some recent good Google reviews. We were able to place our take out order very easily, because their staff were bilingual and spoke excellent English. When I arrived at the restaurant to pickup my order, it was very nice that there was some customer parking in the back. Once I stepped into the restaurant, I was quickly greeted and given my takeout food. Our overall opinion of our Chinese food was just average. We were disappointed that there wasn't much chicken in our chicken fried rice. Our spring rolls were dry and appeared to be overcooked. I will admit that this restaurant has descent prices but their portions aren't as plentiful as most other Chinese restaurants. Not a place I would patronize again. @glampedlife

I decided to order in to have Chinese Food for a pre Christmas treat from Famous Chinese Restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to receive my order in a timely manner delivered by a very pleasant gentleman. I ordered a large Hot and Sour soup that truly hit the spot, along with Ma Po Bean Curd which was cooked exactly to the spice level I wanted. In addition, I ordered Canonese Chow Mein and Szechuan Style Fried rice; both were very good. I found the prices to be reasonable so my opinion of the Famous Chinese Restaurant has improved significantly. I have no problem recommending them and they satisfied my Christmas craving for Chinese food.

Food was ok. We had very low expectations and were then pleasantly surprised. The mapo tofu was cut into way too large of pieces, the hot sour soup lacked flavor depth, and the vegetables were overcooked. Rest of the food was decent. Downside is the restaurant apparently doesn't give out any white rice with the entrees? Unheard of. Further to that, the restaurant didn't ask either. $2.50/small rice in case anyone is wondering. The poor delivery guy had to run back and forth twice. He was super nice and so quick, which was highly appreciated.

BUT WHY IS THE WAITRESS ALWAYS RUNNING?!!!! When we came in it was a mad house. Like what is going on. She was running with food, plates, water - all contributing to the frazzled environment. Finally someone seated us. Ok I'd give this place a 2.5 because the food is actually good. But the service is just weird, AND there was a HAIR in our wonton soup!! Gross! We ordered the Sweet & Sour Shrimp (good), Yang Chow Fried Rice (eh wouldn't order again), Wor Wonton Soup (the large is barely enough to feed 4), and Spicy Szechaun Beef (good, like the spice). They charge extra for steamed rice. It's overpriced but that's because of the touristy area. Interior is like an old lodge, a bit stuffy but overall ok.

The Szechuan (spicy) items are Amazingly good! We came here several times and got the fish in hot/spicy oil fish each time. I'm from the SF Bay Area and this place might be better than the ones back home. Negatives are there's basically no restaurant parking and they charge for tea and white rice. The owner lives on the premises and does most of the cooking.

Decent restaurant in Canmore. It has good lunch special. If you happen to visit Canmore Canada, please check them out. In the same time, you should plan to visit Canmore mountain or farmer market on every Thursday from May to October. We're here for Sled Dog tour and farmer market and visited this restaurant. Somehow Canadian Chinese restaurants has good wonton soup as pre-meal item. We order the Sichuan pan fried noodle and the spicy beef. The noodle is the best on our selection. The chicken is average. Since the lunch special is a deal, we order to go for our take cabin food. Eve though there is only one person in front of the restaurant, but he was able to provide good services. Food is good and the price is right. They are located in downtown and make it convenient to walk to.

Was craving Chinese food while in Canmore and this filled that craving! Got the BBQ pork and veggies dish with chicken fried rice. Super flavourful. Great portions for reasonable price. Took about 15mins to get it from the moment I ordered.

The texture was so soft, and the salmon was seasoned very nicely. Their beers on tap were also pretty good and they had a decent selection to choose from. I pulled up my email and showed them and they said "we'll get you seated asap". It was then they tried to put us at a table near the elevator/host stand. We politely asked for a window seat instead, which we were given. The views are not like in the photos. They have tint on the windows so you can't see the mountains if the sun is shining in. I'll post a photo of what it really looks like below. Anyway, we had to wait 15 minutes for our very sweet server to take our order... and then about 40 minutes for a kids cheese pizza, a pepperoni pizza and a salad. My salad was god awful. Overdressed with soggy, mealy watermelon and bruised strawberries. The pizzas weren't much better, too much crust and too much grease. Getting drinks refilled took forever because they were slammed. I would not recommend.

Our group was located in an annex room right of the main entrance and was the perfect size to fit all of us. The Bread and Butter was really delicious and it looks like their butter flavor is on rotation daily. The duck wings had a peach glaze and nuoc cham and cilantro- great combination. The chicken vegetable dumplings had great skin and texture. The peppercorn salad was adorned with pickled cabbage, capers, maple coconut, crunchy chickpeas and more - it was amazing. We also tried the Thai basil risotto and it was good but I'd go with the peppercorn salad over this if you're sticking vegetarian. The final dish was Alberta AAA Beef Brisket accompanied by gochujang mashed potatoes and broccolini. The brisket was incredible and just melted on the tongue. And the beer/spirits here were impressive as well. BLAKE is a must-try destination while in Canmore!
