Oh my goodness! The food was absolutely DELICIOUS! Everything was freshly prepared and the portions were plentiful. Enough to take home for another full meal. Service was prompt. Staff is very friendly and willing to make menu recommendations. I had the two meats(pulled chicken and burnt ends), along with sweet corn on the cob, Wilbur beans, corn muffins and a creamy strawberry lemonade. Stopped by on a Friday night and surprised at how empty it was. We were seated right away and the bartender waited on us and the few patrons that came in/ already seated. The waiter/bartender was quick, friendly and helpful. This was our first time so didn't know too much about the differences in the ribs (baby back (smaller less meat) and St. Louis (longer more meat). The seats and table felt sticky but everything else looked pretty clean. We ordered burnt ends that came with pickles, onions, burnt ends and onion straws. The meat was moist and delicious. We also got the ribs- which as some others have mentioned, didn't taste fresh. The ends were pretty tough (jerky consistency) and not fall off the bones like Mission bbq. The sauces they have on the table were good. As a side we got the beans and mac n cheese. Both of them had a nice little kick but again didn't taste freshly made. I would definitely come back and try other things on the menu but skip the ribs next time. read more

The food is great here. We went on a week night and were greeted and seated promptly, even though it was quite busy. Management stopped by and checked in on us, and our server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the country roasted chicken and it was amazing. Went to celebrate a Bday on Saturday night. It was HORRIBLE! We had fried chicken-you could taste that the oil was old, the chicken breast were all bones maybe one piece of chicken, the coating was over fried. No one could eat this meal. 6pm on a Tuesday and there are only 3 sets of customers in the building. It's been years since I last visited, back when they had baked potatoes, and I can see that I didn't miss much. My husband ordered the brisket platter with Mac & cheese, and salad. My daughter and I split the chicken tender meal with salad and fries. The portions are plentiful, but the food was not impressive. I had eaten at these in 3 states and you can trust the food to be the same. Average to just above average at best, but even picky eaters like my ex first husband to find something to eat. But they have an ace in the hole. The have found a way to bring back some of those famous Baker Square pies. Almost everyone in my dining group came for those. French silk pie is one of the best you can have. One of my group got a whole one to take home. I got a piece of one to eat half there and rest at home. I also got the banana pudding to go and glad I did. It isn't that the ribs were not enjoyed by all, some local BarQ places are better because they do one style of BarQ while this does most. Pretty good BBQ food and drinks. Our food had a bit too much grissle. Met a couple friends here for a quick bite to eat. Always have had good experiences at Famous Dave's locations but this time it fell a bit short due to the grissley steak tips. Most of the tips were wasted because we couldn't chew them. The BBQ chicken though was really good and the drinks were really good and strong too. I had multiple rum runners which were all really good and what I would expect. The service was a little slow too. There weren't too many of us in the restaurant and it seemed like our server forgot about that section of the building a few times because we didn't see her for 15 minutes or more walking around anywhere. read more

Went for dinner Sunday with the family. We ordered drinks, they were massive and full of liquor, but mine was $17. Not outrageous but more than I expected to pay for a margarita at a BBQ place. Then our food came out, we all ordered the same thing, half slab baby back ribs, it came with two sides and a corn muffin. The muffin was very good but the rest was not. Good service & good food. We were seated immediately on a Saturday in the afternoon. Service Roth a smile. The greens were good but the bacon was a little too chewy for my liking. I'm from the south. Where bbq is done right. didn't taste the smoke nor the love put into making proper bbq.

Raffy was our server and she took great care of us. Although we came in close to closing after just getting in off the road she assured us that we can get whatever we wanted because the kitchen doesn't close until the last customer leaves. The manager came over and touched the table making sure we had everything we needed. The bartender got our drinks out expeditiously and they was good!!! When the food came out it was hot and delicious. I appreciate GREAT customer service, good food and good vibes, we got that all and I want to say thank you so much!! My wife & I enjoy the chicken & ribs here when we dine in. Today, we tried the carryout thru Yelp (Grubhub). Once the order was placed online thru the Yelp app, I noticed that it took some time to confirm the order. The next thing I noticed is that the pickup window was 20 minutes. Since we ordered fried chicken & fish, I arrived early. The order was ready, but when I got home (10 minutes away), the order was cold, and both orders were overcooked. Tough chicken & chewy fish. For over $40, I expect better. If we were dining in at the restaurant and we were served this, we would send it back in a heartbeat. From the presentation to the feast, famous dave's delivers! I was very satisfied with the feast for two- the ribs were so soft and juicy, the meat practically slid off the bone! The mac and cheese was super filling and paired with the fluffy cornbread it was carb heaven. The brisket was perfectly salty and we devoured the corn on the cob under 30 seconds. Lemon supreme pie do not order at the Novi store. This is my second pie that I am very, very dissatisfied With the first one was not smooth an creamy. It was clunky and falling apart. On a Wednesday evening in the first week of September, this restaurant was completely barren. There really wasn't much ambiance since it was 95% empty, tv screens were on and the music on the speakers was at a near quite level. Between 5pm and 7pm included me and my dad, only four to eight other guests. The server who greeted us was friendly and prompt. I ordered a BYO burger specifically "medium" temperature. At least I was able to drink a Modelo since my other beers were not available at this establishment. The first burger was overcooked and it was somewhat moist inside but definitely not pink or medium. As the server returned, it was 10 minutes later when it happened again. And truth be told, yes again it was overcooked, medium well to well. I could only stomach forcing myself to eating half the burger, at least the fries were okay. After leaving half the burger upright for the server and anyone else to see that this was again overcooked, she commented that the cooks tried for medium rare and cooked it within shorter time frame. My thought was "does this individual know how to properly use a thermometer?" I didn't get to ask as we were brought the bill. And no reparations, no discounts, no Manager came to the table, just a I'm sorry from the server. Sadly I can only advise the Heart of the House or kitchen staff to examine your other options. read more
