I was very excited to try Issaquah's first Chinese BBQ. After trying two separate times, I still don't understand why people think this place authentic and taste very good? If you have eaten authentic Chinese BBQ this doesn't come close at all. Shouldn't crispy pork be crispy....right? The skin was rock hard and flavor was completely off. I even ate it in my car during the 2nd attempt and still the same. I also tried the pork bbq, no flavor and cut way too thick. With a soft opening, I hope I can provide some constructive feedback to help the business work out a few kinks. First of all, the food tastes great and is decent value! Everyone was courteous and I had no issues with the service. When I called around 4:30pm on a Sunday, they were out of a lot of items (roasted pork, congee, wontons)... no problem. I appreciate it being told that so I could order something else and understand they're probably figuring this stuff out during soft opening. Arriving around 5pm, there were two people ahead of me in line, waiting to pick up their orders. It seemed to take longer than expected to get through the line. The cashier doubled as phone operator; with only one cashier and the phone ringing off the hook (as well as a good queue of takeout orders being bagged up), this seems like a bottleneck that needs to be resolved prior to full opening. Shoyu chicken is good. The ginger sauce is frickin amazing. The general tso chicken is more like an orange chicken. It still tasted fine but just not what I expected. The thing I have a real problem with is the char siu (bbq pork). It tastes good as expected but the meat quality is terrible! Twice now, and I'm done ordering it until they figure that out. It's grisly, got tendony bits throughout, some pieces overly fatty... just not the right cut at all. It's also chopped all haphazardly... a thin slice and a massively thick slice right next to each other. Customer service is always good here. We ordered beef chow fun although it is consistently good flavor the noodles have changed since they' first opened. It is great that there is a restaurant in Issaquah that serves chinese roast pork and duck freshly made and always great quality. read more

The wait was very long. They initially said 30 mins but we waited about an hour. They also packed our order wrong. We ordered duck, roast pork, and char siu, we got home and noticed two roast porks and a char siu. The Char siu didn't have that much flavor, and the roast pork was very salty. Overall, pretty disappointed. I was really looking forward to the duck, but given the experience, I'm not inclined to go back. Excited to see an authentic Cantonese BBQ duck restaurant open in Issaquah. The Chow Fun noodles tasted really good, wish the portion was 20% bigger then it would be perfect. The BBQ duck tasted really good but was way too fatty. Hoping it was a one off? Also suggest the restaurant to make your own plum sauce instead of the packets. Me and my family had Salted fish chicken fried rice, fish fillet Congee, Roast Duck and Char Siu Pork combo with rice. They all tasted so good, authentic Cantonese dishes! Tried a number of the duck, chicken and pork items. I guess it's not to my taste profile. They are pretty good but felt lacking in the savory aspect? Might be more of a style difference and not a lack of quality. The pork belly was a Match! The roast pork (char Siew) felt like something was missing for me. Can I just say how happy I am that I don't have to drive all the way to Bellevue or Seattle to get Chinese meats?! I'm beyond stoke Famous Kitchen opened up in our hood! Their place was blowing up with many meats selling out. I was able to snag char sui which was delicious! I also tried other dishes like their beef chow fun and walnut shrimp. Both very delicious as well! Full of flavor and they really pack in their boxes. I ordered their white chicken because other meats I wanted to try were all sold out. NO GOOD. It was straight out of the fridge cold and had absolutely no flavor. I had to throw in all of their sauces and recook it at home. Their soft opening was definitely that. A soft opening with many kinks to be worked out. Their phones were blowing up and people were waiting up to an hour to get their food. I have no doubt this place will prosper! We order the crispy noodles, fried squid and seasoned Chinese broccoli. We spent almost 80 buck with no food left over (portions were small). Went to try out their BBQ items for late lunch. They were out of roast pork when I got there, so opt for duo rice bowl. BBQ char siu pork was huge slice pieces and was hard to eat. I was disappointed the lack of honey flavor, taste more like a roast. Duck had nice flavor and very tender. Happy they add some Shanghai bok choy. It was a 1 stars experience but I gave 2 stars just because it is their soft opening. Me and my wife wanted to try this place out and we were by chance in the area so we decided to stop by to order some roasted pork and Cha Shui. We spent like 15 mins standing in line with 2 other people in front of us because the order taker/cashier kept taking phone calls. It was around 4:30 in the afternoon and almost all of their bbq stuffs were out, no roasted pork, no duck, no cha shui...only shoyu chicken and other chickens left... We were so disappointed especially after the long wait. We end up ordered the royal chicken. We tried the royal chicken when we arrived home, it was a meh at best. The taste was almost like the "white chicken", and the cutting/chopping skill was not good with so many irregular size and one or two really big pieces! It's too sad both the front and back of the restaurant presented themselves pretty bad on our visit. Even I know it's still their soft opening, it will be very hard to convince myself to come back again. It's funny, I went to this place because of a bad review on Yelp. That person said that the roast pork had too much fat on it. IMHO, Chinese Roast Pork is supposed to be fatty. A bit pricey, but portions are generous. 5 of us had the beef chow fun, salt & pepper pork chops, beef brisket noodle soup, roast pork, and singapore fried mifun (rice vermicelli). The fried noodles had that great smokey 'wok-hei' flavour, the roast pork was crispy and moist (as good as the bbq shops in my home town Vancouver), and the noodle soup had a deep umami-slightly-fishy punch just like a good HK wonton shop. I understand it's still soft opening but please don't commit to an order you can't deliver. this kitchen wasn't wrong when they said they were famous in their title, pretty much everybody was swarming the restaurant as I made my way in. Although this is a barbecue restaurant, they had a secret menu so I ordered fancy tuna, and California rolls. After they arrived the waitress literally Danced on the table and presented my food. Talk about presentation, after it came on my tray it was a gorgeous display and then the moment after I lifted my hands on the polished silverware it just slipped out of my fingers because of how sparkly clean it was. After I was able to grasp my silverware I took a fresh, crispy, delicious bite of my fancy tuna. Emphasis on the fancy because that tuna made my jaw drop. Have you ever been beaten by a white spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend? Well that's how I felt eating that fancy tuna. The presentation, the delectable looks, And the most mouthwatering food I could eat for days. And I won't even get started about the sushi. It was the perfect amount of gooey but also held together with the crab and rice as well as avocado rolled perfectly into a fresh slice of seaweed. The meal also came with a bowl of sticky rice which stuck to my mouth! Have you have spilled lemonade if your hands on a hot summer day the drink just dries up immediately leaving an immaculate stick on the tips of your fingers? well that's how it felt eating this delectable, impeccable, indescribable, fantastic, jaw-dropping, rice. never been so pleasured and satisfied in my entire life. the table, it was squeaky clean. i germ tested it and came back positively, for sure, perfect!! the music playing in the background just make me wanna dance in a perfect symphony with the food. i have never loved a restaurant more. 110% recommend, and i rate it an 67/24 read more
