Definitely a solid three stars. I think the thing that gets me is that restaurants like this one almost requires you to speak cantonese or you get a totally different experience. For example, there is definitely a dish here that's not in the menu but something if you have a good conversation you can get. Service is ok? Understaffed as usual and just lots of tables so when you go when it's busy expect service to be delayed. The food I think is decent. Probably a four stars on food but with everything else balances out at around 3 stars. The ambiance, well I think my watch triggered a noise warning so it's definitely not someplace that is quiet. Be prepared on a busy day to deal with a lot of different conversations and food coming in all different orders. I think we had food come in massive batches.

Really yummy dim sum!! We came at a busy time but were able to get seated promptly and got our food quickly once ordered. Every dim sum dish was pretty good and it was nice and hot. I would recommend if you're looking to try dim sum.

Seriously, I don't know what is up with the reviews on Yelp and Google for this restaurant. The food quality is great. We come here after Thanksgiving for a dim sum breakfast. Have never been disappointed in the service, food quality, or the menu selections.

steamed whole black sea bass. LOVED IT!

Excellent Cantonese dinner here in the 'Irvine of Seattle'. Bok Choy with oyster mushroom was lightly seasoned and sautéed, very delicious. Seafood tofu clay pot was also a winner, with higher seafood-to-tofu ratio than other restaurants. The steamed whole fish (black sea bass), lightly sauced and perfectly flakey, was our favorite. Can't speak for other low ratings, you just need to know what to order. Our dishes were light in sauce but BIG in flavors.

Delicious! Order on Christmas the sweet & sour spare ribs, pork & shrimp fried rice, and spring rolls. Food was ready in about 15 minutes for pickup. When I arrived, the place was very busy but I was greeted with a warm welcome and my order was ready.

salt and black pepper calamari - barely had seasoning. flavorless.

The service here was extremely disappointing. The servers were rude and unprofessional from the start, no greeting, just handed us a paper to mark down our order. And I specifically asked for no pork, yet the shrimp rolls still had bits of pork in them, which was very frustrating and felt careless. The food itself was just okay and the atmosphere didn't feel very clean and overall everything was below average. To make things worse, it took about 10 minutes before anyone came over when we were ready to check out, only to find out we had to pay at the front (something no one mentioned). Definitely not a place I'd return to.

Yummy Cantonese food at a great price. Flavors were a little salty but good. Had some dim sum too and that was good. The service was really friendly, especially for Chinese restaurant, the server was so friendly to our kids and reminded us they had free green bean dessert. The atmosphere is basic but nice for Chinese spot. Restaurant is a chain from Vancouver so has good reputation.

When you can speak the language, you're treated like royalty. But be patient if English is your preferred language - the staff tries hard to answer your questions. The food is awesome though

Really fast service, 15-20 min for our 5 takeout dishes. Nice lady at the front. A little skimpy on the protein on some of the dishes, but also big portions and cheaper than some other places. Flavors on point, although could be a touch more flavorful for some dishes.

The food is consistent, the service is efficient. Ambiance is like every Chinese restaurant, not fancy but comfortable.

When is dim sum available? Weekends only? All week?

I know it's been a couple years since this question was posted, but they have a limited dimsum menu in the after hours. Mainly steamable items like shumai, chicken feet, lobak goh. Other than that, they have dimsum available every day.

I don't need a chef wildly experimenting with my siu mai, or dabbling with my baked hom bow. My analysis of Sun Sui Wah, very nice interior, ok service, solid food. Was it a few dollars more than similar fare in Seattle, yes. But I also didn't have to drive to Seattle, not to mention put up with the street spectacle that now exists in the International District. It gets 5 stars because it delivers as promised.

Service : nonexistent Food: 9/10…read morePrice: standard but not worth for the horrible service. We spent about $600 for a party of 9. Would rather go to Diamond Bay, Tasty Szechuan, Royal Kitchen, (can see why they're busy and packed on a holiday weekday night and Sun Sui Wah is not) Went here for dinner for my grandma's 89th birthday with a party of 9 at 7pm. We ordered dishes typical of a 10 course meal including crab, Peking duck, live fish, rice, noodles, veggies, seafood, etc. The food was really good and didn't take too long to come out. Everything tasted good and we were all enjoying the family meal together and that's why I am giving 1 star because we will not be coming back. The service was absolutely horrible; ruined our dinner and wasted an extra 1-1.5hr of everybody's time. There was only 2 other tables in the restaurant and the servers started having dinner together at a table instead of working. I would understand if we were high maintenance customers or were giving them attitude but we did not. My cousin and I have both been FOH and BOH staff so we try to be understanding and patient when it comes to service especially coming from a Chinese background too. However, we asked for water several times, they never refilled anyone's water or the tea even once at this point it was end of dinner and 5 out of the 6 of us had completely empty glasses for about 30 minutes. We finally got water when we signaled to the Busser and he went to tell the same server again. We finished eating and decided to pay first so my grandma wouldn't try to pay. We tipped 18% off the bill since we were a large party and I wasn't about to punish all the workers for some water but what happened after made everything much worse. We asked for togo boxes and the server lady just dropped them off stared at our table and left. I was already wondering why she was seeming to be upset but seems like we were interrupting their dinner because 3 or 4 chinese servers were eating together at the table at the front when my sister's boyfriend went to pay. (That's why we didnt have water) I don't mind the workers needing to eat because I have been in their shoes before but please provide some service if you still have customers inside the restaurant waving at you. We wanted to leave just as much as they probabaly wanted to close at 10 pm(it was around 830ish now) We noticed that the cake they had been holding for us in the fridge was just sitting at another table in the restaurant. They saw us go grab it ourselves. We packed all the leftovers and started putting our dirty dishes and stuff onto the table because the workers were doing nothing. They saw that we were done but didn't want to stop their 8:30pm dinner I guess. Finally we asked them to bring us plates and clear the table. I have never had to ask the Chinese servers at any restaurant to clear the table before dessert, normally they do it for you, especially after you just tipped them almost $100 lol. The Chinese servers sent the bus boy to clear our table and guess what returned to their dinner! We again asked them for plates for the cake. It took so long to the point my sister missed picking up her prescription at 9pm. Not sure if the dim sum service is better but I'm pretty sure those 5 star service reviews are from the chinese servers' friends and/or family. Or the servers are taught to do nothing besides get the order and drop it off. Unfortunaly we will not be spending money at this establishment again because of the service and will be telling our family and friends in Issaquah and Bellevue to choose better places for sit down family meals. Hope others enjoy their meals because the food is still good

A tiny place with big portion and authentic food…read more We came here on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was almost fully packed. I had my all time favorite dish at a Hong Kong café cuisine, gon caau ngau ho (乾炒牛河), aka beef chow fun, along with a childhood favorite drink, iced Horlicks. I liked how everything moved at a quick pace here and yet the staff were still friendly. The best part was that no one stopped by to ask how the food was while your mouth was full, because they already knew the food was good. The beef chow fun was just as good as the ones back home. It was savory and full of wok hei (iykyk). The bean sprouts were added at just the right time, so they were still a slightly crunchy. The sliced beef was tender too. If you like adding extra spice, be sure to try the crunchy chili sauce on the table. It was awesome, fragrant, spicy, and full of flavor. Just be careful not to choke on it, I did, and it wasn't fun. I hadn't had Horlicks in twenty years, and the first sip brought back so many memories. Be sure to stir it well and maybe wait until the ice melts a little, otherwise it may be slightly too sweet. My partner is a vegetarian. He looked through the entire menu and said there weren't many things he could order (listen, people, choose your future SO accordingly if you like sharing big meat dishes). He ended up ordering the curry vegetable rice and added a fried egg. He said the curry was delicious. I tried a bite of it and agreed. I think there may have some coconut milk in it because it was rich and creamy. The rice was a little too dry to my liking. Sitting there and listening to the background music from the Hong Kong TV news, I felt like a kid again.

Not sure what they added in, but the flavor of the broth was not my favorite. There's so much good wonton soup in the area! I wish this broth was better and more savory. Beef chow fun: pretty tasty and the beef was pretty tender. There was no work hei, so didn't have that distinct flavor Half chicken bone in: this was surprisingly our favorite dish!
