The activities are well organized- a great balance between social events, physical activities, mental challenges. Top picks include smoothie socials, bingo, chair yoga, coffee and doughnuts. He was happy, content, treated with respect and given care beyond what we could ever have provided him at home. It was such a burden off our shoulders to know he was there. It is not a clinical, sterile facility, but a warm, inviting home. The DeVera family is amazing in their compassion and care of their residents. The residents are not treated as residents or patients, but family members. Having to place a loved one away from their personal residence can be an overwhelming, intimidating, daunting experience for a family. Working with the DeVera family at LaValhalla eliminated all of those feelings. We are so happy that we found a residential home where all the caregivers are compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, and truly concerned about the residents in their home. They are not quick to see if someone comes in to eat and take there order or even clear the tables so other people can come in and sit. They sit and have meals all together and the parties and special holidays are fabulous!
