I started going to Tammy for a couple of months now and I love it! I usually just do gel manicures and I don't know what her secret is but my polish never lifts where your hair will snag on it while showering. Everywhere else I've gone, I know it's time to get my nails re-done when that happens but with Tammy it doesn't happen. She recently did my nails for my wedding day and I was in love with them. We did the pink/white ombre look. I received so many compliments and they last so long! Over a month without breaking. You can't beat the price, but the service could use a lot of work. I came in for a pedicure, and while I waited for an available nail technician, I was asked to pick a color from a ring of sample nails. I made my selection known and was directed to start soaking my feet. After a couple of minutes, I was told that the color was not available and asked to get up and choose a color from the polishes displayed on the wall. The technician expected me to put my shoes back on with my wet feet as I was directed to go pick a new color three times before I realized I had to ask them for a towel--I also had to dry my own feet. I went to the wall of polishes, but it was slim pickings and they all looked so old! However, I happened to have a couple of polishes from home that I threw in my purse, so I opted for one of those. Life (and the pedicure) went on, and the woman did a decent job. However, I forgot to mention that I came with a friend who had a similar experience. She chose a color; it wasn't available, so she had to choose a different color from the wall. I am not sure why they hand out the sample of nail colors if they are not going to offer them--at least mark the ones that are no longer available, which was most of them. Finally, the nail technician wouldn't acknowledge me when I asked to pay--how rude! I would recommend this place if you want a decent price and don't mind mediocre to poor service--pro-tip: bring your own polish! read more

The biz is in the same buidling as the 7-11 on ist st. They also share a garage space. Everything's cool until I walked over to the front door. Lights off, Closed sign on the window. Called about 10 times no outgoing vm...hmmmm. That was 9:45. They're supposed to open at 9:30. Long story short they finally opened at 10:45! I was almost mad...but too early... so I figure WTH I'll take it today and wait some more! The whole lash extension process was two hours! One hour for each eye! OMG Nice long forced nap. Having tried this procedure I found out it's not for me. It's itchy, uncomfortable and annoying as hell. You can't rub your eyes or you have to be very careful. The two ladies that work in the shop were very nice. So I told them my problem about their schedule or lack of it. Not worth it! Will I go back to the shop? Probably not. I got a quick polish change on my toenails by Nikki and she did absolutely wonderful! Tammy did incredible work on my manicure. She gave great recommendations for what looks good. I'm in town for a game and searched through probably 15 different nail salons on Yelp reading reviews and looking at the pictures before deciding for sure I wanted to come to Tammy at Charming Hair and Nails and I am SO happy I did. They got me in right away and start to finish was about an hour for a new set. Tammy really knows what she's doing. I'm a complete perfectionist, to the point of being OCD when it comes to my nails and she had my trust within minutes. After moving and unpacking for the last two weekends my nails were shot. I saw the great reviews here and decided to try it out. Am I ever glad I did! I called at 4:30 and they got me in at 5. Tammy saw my nails and recommended that I get a new set as they were beyond redemption. She was so careful removing them that my nails don't hurt like they have after removals at other places. I also had such a great time chatting while she did them that the time flew by. One hour later and my nails have never looked better! *Update* while I loved Tammy and she did a beautiful job, she just couldn't get my nails to stop lifting.
