This is a great place for nails, pedicure and waxing. I love that they are on top of new technologies. They have a new AI nail lamp that it is safe for your skin, just ask for it when you get your nails done. Cindy does a great job with using gel to make your nails look natural. Amy is the best for pedicures, she is great cleaning ingrown nails. Bella is amazing with waxing, she just waxed my husband ears and nose hairs and he is super happy. Beauty Queen Nails is an unpopular nail salon. They're never insanely busy whenever I pay a visit. However, I still call in to book an appointment just to be safe. :) They recently renovated half of the salon, but the interior still leaves a lot to be desired. The employees here are super nice and have always done exceptional work on my nails. Nancy was my manicurist the past couple of times and I left really happy with her work! After a few nice visits alone, I decided to share with my mama what will be our new spot. I like this place. I don't feel rushed. I feel I am getting my $$'s worth and leaving relaxed & satisfied. The girls are accommodating and nice, having done all I request. I've witnessed an unpleased customer rudely display her dissatisfaction to the girls. (From where I was sitting, her nails just needed a bit of clean up, but she refused) However, the girls handled it as calmly and as best as they can and of course, discounted her. Shocker... Running a business is difficult at times, as you cannot please everybody, nobody is perfect and WE ALL HAVE MADE MISTAKES. Give second chances and communicate thoroughly what it is you want. And if you're still unsatisfied, then maybe that business really wasn't for you in the first place. Or, Your hands and feet are just unattractive and can't be beautified. Just kidding. Maybe. In my opinion, Yelp can be businesses's nightmare. I don't Yelp much at all, but when I do, I will only leave positive reviews. If I have a negative service or a complaint, I will reach out to owners and staff. But if a business has rude staff members or repeated bad service,(lack of proper training) those will be reasons for some YELPIN! You will win some, and you lose some. I just finished getting my nails done here, will elaborate more when my nails are dry! Edit: 03/19/08 Finally they revamped this ghetto area on White Road and made it somewhat classy! Ask for Van and Haha (yes that's her name), they're a funny duo and will keep you entertained with stories of Van's obscure married neighbor with feminine tendencies, and give you tip on how to make great pho. But before they broke the ice, I got the typical nail salon vibe where they speak Vietnamese and periodically stare at you to indicate that they're talking shit. That didn't last long coz as soon as we met gaze I gave them a dirty look and out came their English. Yeeaah what now!? Better WORK for your tip beezy's!! Anyway, I got my manicure and pedicure done at the same time. Haha used to work for Mary Queen nails down on McKee Rd. but her sister opened up shop and now works here at Beauty Queen Nails. She did a great job in making my toes all cute and prettified! I've never had it look this perfect before! You know how some nail technicians take a little too much meat off that you feel the pinch? Well I got none of that, she was quite gentle actually. I got the basic manicure from Van coz I wasn't really feeling the whole french manicure, gel/acryllic or airbrush crap that I see most girls get. I like my nails looking neat, trimmed, and painted - nothing fancy. Even though this was a basic manicure, she still did a great job. Some nail techs don't really take the time to make sure that their work looks great, but Van totally did. The fact that I was the only customer during that time probably had a lot to do with their job being done perfectly because they're not being rushed, yes? Anyway, they finished and my nails were all nice and pretty again, wrapped up my conversation with them both and paid my $20 (regularly $23) for their service and left a five dollar tip for them both. I was almost going to get my eyelash extensions (for $30!!!) but I decided to wait on it til maybe next week. These supposedly last for 2 weeks. They take Visa here, but let them know before hand that you'll be putting tip on your card so they can ring it up with the service. FYI, they just opened up last week, and are currently giving 15% off all services. I'll for sure recommend this place to friends, so definitely check them out! There's also a Subway next door if your bf doesn't wanna get a manicure with you so he can munch there for 30 minutes. read more

It's been a while since my last update. Most of all the people in the aforementioned review have left and been replaced. I still go to Michelle (the owner). She's super friendly and talkative. She's the only one who does my eyebrows the way I like it. If I'm getting a solid color pedi, I don't mind going to any of the other girls there. BUT- if I want a French tip pedicure, Michelle is the only one who can freehand it, so I prefer her over the girls. She's always so busy doing nails though, so it's rare to get her to do your pedicures. read more

Just remember to never rub your eyes. Also ask for Hoa if you're planning on getting acrylics. She does a fantastic job of getting them thin and very natural looking. $23 for a manipedi. Cheap place and you get cheap service. There were no other customers when I walked in, that should have been my 1st warning. The "massage" was more like them putting lotion on. My polish didn't go to the edge or end of my nail and since she didn't let them dry between coats, it bubbled. When I told her, she said, "only a little bit honey it's ok." Then 2 nails smudged and she just tried to put more topcoat on it. I asked her to redo them and she did it reluctantly and told me to be careful. She did them so fast that those 2 are lighter in color than rest of them. You get what you pay for. read more
