Just awful. They do not know what they are doing. I was charged $20 for nail removal, the woman started cutting and drilling the acrylic off. Soaked my fingers off and on went back-and-forth to each hand. Sanded my nails down so thin and was mad at me for it. I asked her if she thought I had gel on my nails and thought she was going to pop the nails off and she just mumbled. My pedicure was not done right toes feels rough and dry skin still on the edge of the nail. On top of it the place is dusty and cluttered. read more

I've been going to a fancier salon on Lincoln Ave for 10 years. But I decided to stop in here for a pedicure after washing some big blankets and a quilt at the adjacent Washstop laundromat. I wasn't able to comment on the 1 star review from Sheila... her review is a big lie! I was there last night when she walked in demanding to use the restroom. Mary told her that her restroom was out of order, and Sheila began to threaten her to write a bad review on her and her business. Mary stopped working on my nails to walk her to the bathroom to show her the restroom was broken. Which she saw for her self that it was out of order. Sheila even scared her own kids because she was acting out.. she then walked out and slammed the door. Her review is false advertisement... so Shiela stop making these poor hard working ladies look bad... they're not at fault here. If anything they're victims of your actions last night. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! I went here to get my acrylics removed thinking what could go wrong...A month later my nails are still recovering with acrylic stuck on them. They had no idea what they were doing They told me they were done while there was a mountain of acrylic still on my nails...After repeatedly telling them 3 seperate times I wanted ALL the acrylic off before I left, the lady got upset and was nonstop filing my nails with the drill making them burn and putting me through so much pain & huffing/puffing when my finger budged because of the unbearing pain! I had called to make an appointment. I got there and had me wait since they were finishing up on other clients which I don't mind, usually happens. They started on me but then paused to assist another client, making me wait another 40 minutes, almost 2 hours for the whole session. I don't know the employee's name that worked on me, but she really didn't seem experienced with nails. She kept adding more acrylic powder onto my nails making them really bulky looking and thick. By the end, my nails had bumps and some nails lengths weren't even to the other hand. A simple white line design costed me $80 dollars. I had gone to this salon before and I liked it then, but I'm never going back after this experience. read more

Avoid this place if at all possible for anything. They DO NO CLEAN THEIR EQUIPMENT at all. They cut me and then finished the pedicure without complete the service correctly. I ended up going to get another pedicure from another nail Salon. Stay away if you dont want an infection. read more

Just left.. got my undercut buzzed and the lady did well.. however I'm disappointed from the customer service.. there is a huge sign out front something saying 20% off new customers.. I typically pay $10-$15 for what I get done.. when I was finished.. the lady said $20.. I said is that with the 20% off.. she said oh are you new and I said yeah I never been here.. she asked the lady in her language if I can get the 20% off the lady shake her head no and the one who cut my hair said she only got a buzzed and the lady said other things in their language and so I just gave her a twenty and started walking away she said $15 is ok and I said nah.. keep the $20 I just won't be back again.. homophobic to say the least read more

What I love about this place is that they are open on Sundays ;] and it is close to home. I normally get gel manicures and pedicures. I was extremely impressed on how clean they are at this salon. They sanitize their equipment unlike the other nail salon I used to go to. They also give amazing massages. Will definitely be coming here every two weeks. read more

All right, so here's the thing. If you're expecting some 5-star spa-nail experience, you probably shouldn't be going to a strip mall with a Laundry Mat and Walgreens next to the salon. With that said, if you're able to have the right frame of mind, check out Focus Hair & Nails in Willow Glen. For $18 you can get a pretty nice spa pedicure--for $5 extra, they'll paint some fancy flowers on your toes. The spa chairs are relatively new and the tubs are nice and clean. They've boosted up the fancy-factor by adding slices of lemon in the basins too. (Because if you didn't get the memo, citrus=fancy). The other services are well priced too.....the BF got a haircut, I got a spa pedicure with flowers, and my eyebrows waxed all for $35. Not too shabby. On a completely unrelated note, one time I went there and the lady getting a pedicure next to me was completely passed out sleeping in the chair! To the credit of the pedicurist, she was completely professional and kept on with the service. And the women weren't even talking smack about the lady, even when she was snoring! (Trust me, I speak Vietnamese and know!) Next time you're doing your laundry or waiting for your prescription to be filled in Willow Glen, get a Pedi done at Focus Hair & Nails. For a place that has focus in their name... you would maybe say that this place might need a bit more precision. For an incredibly small space, they manage to cut hair, and do manicures and do pedicures (it is crowded). Being Vietnamese didn't help my game either - because I walked in and truly just understood (as I understood the language) that no one really knew what they are doing. I got a pedicure and manicure simultaneously (taking advantage of their $25 special). Neither one was particularly relaxing. Even the women next me to was cringing at her experience (seemingly in pain) due to something - so I knew I wasn't alone. Manicure didn't really make itself to last (as I stare at my fingers now) and pedicure ended up having my left big toe hurt for a few days after. The only way I went here was because it was across the street from my friend's but no I pretty much have no reason to go back. read more

Went for a pedicure. Water was room temp. When I told the lady it was not warm she didn't understand so I left it alone. Tail tech was extremely attentive. Very nice. She spent more time on my nails than anywhere else I've been. This place was super quiet. I was able to close my eyes and relax. Unlike other places. Prices are reasonable. I would go back. Just wish their massage chairs worked properly and the waiter was at least warm. read more

I went to a different salon for my full set, but Marie at Focus Hair & Nails fixed them for me and made them look SO much nicer. When I walked in, there was no other clientele - and everyone who worked there was sitting around watching TV and eating - It felt like I was disturbing them in the middle of the work day! I watched as the technician was doing my pedicure -- no sanitation for the tub, no wiping off with alcohol of any of the cutters / scrapers tools that were used - just plopped back in the jar, re-use of nail file boards & pumice stones -- who knows how many times without cleaning. The "spa" chairs are all completely worn out / cracked and the pillows were grimy / looked like they are 20 years old - along with the towels that would be used for rags in most shops, they were so old. AND even for regular manicures (not gels) they make you "dry" your nails in the UV lights. IF the technician was cordial or respectful I may not have posted here, but along with not understanding "square or round" for the shape of my nails, she ATE jerky the entire time she was doing my nails and seemed to have an attitude of "why do I have to be working on you".... be warned.... read more

Came here for a shellac manicure. The person I had was Nancy. Usually a shellac manicure is 45 minutes to an hours, well she finish in 30 minutes. She was a nice but through the whole visit I felt like she was in a rush. She did a very crappy job cutting and filing my nails. She did a poor job with the French tip line (The French tip line was very uneven) it's only been a week and it looks awful! Never going back here again! Not worth $35! read more

Mary, the manager, i persoally think is the only one who knows what she is doing. I used to go here every other week for my nails but have stopped going now due to the poor service they had ben giving.. The first few years i went here Mary did my nails but with time she was not always in or was to busy. I decided to let other girls do my nails but..what a mistake.. out of all the other 4-5 girls that ever did my nails they all did a crappy job..If i asked for something insead of saying no i do not know how to do it they would do it and It would be crappy.. This happened numerous times until I decided to stop going there. Also, The girls are so critical! All they do is check you up and down to see what you have. Everytime I would walk in, (I own many designer items) they would GRAB my purse out of my hand. look in the inside to see if it was authentic and then gossiip about my bags ...thats not right! I don't like liars, I came in to get a pedi of course they said pick a color and I did. The nail tech asked if I wanted to do gel I told her no just regular polish she kept insisting that I do Gel, then she said because it's my first time here she'll charge me 25 for Gel but when I come back for a second time it will be 35 the lady who was getting her nails done next to me said that's a deal that I cannot beat and I agreed so I said sure do Gel, heads up she cut my big toe I was bleeding, after I got my eye brows done and I told the lady to clean up my shape keep them as thick as possible and Idk what she did are it's time to pay they charging 44 dollars I don't mind paying the money trust my pedicures are usually 50 bucks back home it's just say what you mean and mean what you say I'm not stupid and I heard what you said and when I called you out on what you exactly said you put your head down and kept saying 35 for pedi I will NEVER GO BACK THERE. I went back and the chick that did my nails before didn't work there anymore. So, I stupidly I let some random girl do my nails. I asked her to do moonshape again, but instead of telling me she didn't know how to do it, she just went at it and did a horrible job. So I just asked her to file them square. They were completely uneven and looked like $hit. She didn't speak much English so the girl in charge tried to tell me they were fine. They would have been considered fine if I had spent all day working construction and they managed to stay on, but they were far from being fine. Oh well, lesson learned, my bad.... read more
