Everything here was really good. We were seated and given soup and a free sushi sample. I ordered the super bowl. This is a poke Bowl with tuna; salmon and krab. Plenty of toppings and protein. My wife ordered 3 sushi rolls. We thought we would split one and she would eat 2. These rolls were huge. Together we could not finish them. Next time we will try some hibachi. read more

If you order a minimum of $35 then give you a free small roll to go. Prices were pretty average for their special rolls, most about $15 there were a few that were $17-$18 but after my first try I wouldn't mind the pricier tag if I know it's going to be good! They messed up our order a little, but they fixed it right away after we pointed it out. Two things to note: The family that runs it is Chinese, not Japanese. Came here simply because we just wanted to grab a quick dinner close to the house (we are new to the area). When we sat down, we were immediately greeted with soup and samples of holiday roll. Very nice people, but... we were having dinner and noticed a hair on the shrimp sauce- ok I will take my napkin and wipe it off and try not to think about it. We start eating our meal and notice another hair in my meal- a little more irritated but we are hungry and I just say maybe it was mine. Now my wife is eating and looks down and has a hair in her meal- no more, we are about to puke. I'm not sure why it took us so long to try this place. We live within 2 miles and go by all the time. I felt like sushi and my wife said let's try it. I'm really glad we did! Sushi was fantastic. We had a variety but the clear favorite was the shrimp tempura we started off with. The restaurant is not huge but a quirky layout. Place was pretty packed and they were stacking to go orders. It's pretty clear it's very popular. We were not in the mood for the cooked dishes, but got a great view as they went by and I will say the food looked great and portions huge. A great sushi spot if you find yourself in Yulee. The staff was incredibly attentive, even on a super busy night. The sushi and sashimi are cut and made very well. The appetizers and hibachi entrees are also cooked very well. The fish tasted very fresh and there was a large variety of sashimi and sushi rolls. They were also happy to customize the rolls if there was an ingredient you did not want or wanted to add. I have to sadly say the bathroom threw me as it was incredibly large and half of it was used as a storage area. That and the cleanliness could stand to be improved a bit. Friends and I were in the mood for good sushi. I'm from the Jacksonville area and know good sushi but didn't want to drive to far so I search Yelp and Fancy Sushi had some great reviews so we decided to check it out - thank god! Walked in on a Saturday around 2:00 and the place was packed. We had 6 people and only waited about 10 minutes as they set up a table. Not only was there steady traffic coming through, there were so many take out orders! Definitely a hot spot with the local people. We all had the lunch special, Maki 3, with various rolls. The portion was HUGE and for the price it was a great deal. Very satisfying, fresh, clean, delicious. All meals come with clear soup and a holiday roll as soon as you sit down which was a lovely treat. Our favorite though were the FRIED OREOS that are COMPLIMENTARY. A very decent sushi spot which we stopped by for lunch. The sashimi lunch special was nice and quite fresh. The salmon, vegetable, and salmon skin rolls were delicious and the tempura vegetables were crispy and done well. Our first visit was last night and while our expectations weren't set real high (based on some of the recent reviews) we were genuinely surprised! Walking up to this particular location, we were expecting the interior to be the "normal", Asian fast food layout but no, there is an attempt to make it a little more upscale than that. Not only with the interior design, but with sit down table service. It's small and the tables are fairly close together so conversations can easily be overheard, especially if you have to talk "over" the background music. Our seats didn't even get warm when the complimentary, deep fried crab rolls (2) showed up, shortly followed by the soup. The rolls were tasty but at room temperature. The soup was steaming hot but really did lack any flavor....a little salt helped. We ordered the Gyoza (fried pot-stickers) which were excellent....probably the best we've had in quite awhile from anywhere. Our main courses of filet mignon hibachi, teriyaki chicken hibachi and pork katsu were very good as well as plentiful. The service was very good with my only compliant being, all of our drink glasses went empty and we had to ask for refills. We'll probably be back. read more

Upon being seated they serve you a small bowl of their clear soup (my personal favorite) and their holiday roll which even my 6 year old and my non-sushi-eating husband loves. This review is for the Fernandina beach location. I was really hoping that this new location would be our go-to sushi spot but I can't afford to eat here. Two years ago the sushi buffets we went to in GA had $18.99 all you could eat sushi buffets that included nigiri. I could eat 12 pieces of tuna or salmon nigiri in a meal before I was full. It was pricey, but the fish was fresh and we went as an occasional treat. Now at fancy Sushi it is $3.50 for a single piece of tuna or salmon ngiri. To eat my 12 pieces it would cost me $42. nigiri is a one bite affair. I'm not sure about anyone else, but I can't afford to put food in my mouth at a rate of $3.50 per bite. I realize inflation is a thing, but at a certain point someone has to say "this is ridiculous". read more

Its difficult to understand what businesses are going through during Covid when they charge .50 extra cents for another 3 ounces of sauce. Then wont let me pay for it with a card because its "under 5 dollars" Fancy sushi in yulee really proves that Covid doesnt really affect them as hard as others who have closed their doors for good. By charging petty amounts of money for sauce you have for free on the table you alienate those who wish t eat at home and not spread this horrible disease.
