Down and Dirty Nicely decorated and scenic atmosphere. Quick service. Delicious food. Price is a little in the higher side for the portions. Service Sat immediately. Took a minute to get drink orders but turnaround was quick once we got the order in. Food ordering was more timely and, again, quick turnaround. Check out was quick. Only thing missing was personal and welcoming touch. It was a very transactional experience. Food I got the spicy tuna poke bowl. Very good but small portion and was still hungry. My friend got the lobster roll and it was also delicious and standard single roll portion. Wasn't asked about desert or if we wanted anything else so we just checked out and left I would go again because the food was good and service was quick. A first time visit here that was suggested by a co-worker. Plenty of parking outside. As you approach super dark windows but as you enter the interior its super clean and pleasantly decorated inside. A lot of different choices on the menu. The General Tso's Chicken grabbed my attention since it's a Chinese dish. Came with Vegetables and white rice but I substituted for Fried rice. I was looking at other entrees as they were brought out to other customers and noticed the portion sizes were a lot less than what I typically see at a Japanese Restaurant. Anticipating a small meal I ordered a side of Lo Mein. The General Tso's chicken chunks came out like chicken strips and were fried in a tempura batter. It was good and spicy. However the batter got soggy in its sauce. And the fried rice was not hot. Overall it was a good meal but I've had better. read more

It was my first time here. I ordered the Black Dragon roll ($14.95) which is fried tempura, avocado with eel on top; California roll ($5.95) and spicy crab roll ($5.95). Everything tasted really good. I took off a star because the portion was so tiny! Especially for the Dragon roll. I felt it should have been a least 4 more pieces. I've been to a lot of sushi places across the US and this place is expensive considering how little food they give you. So because of that, will probably go to Fancy Sushi across the street instead. read more

Food is very good , Jajangmyeon is excellent, the only complaint is that serving is very small . We understand cost of food is up but noodles should be 2x larger . We will be back plus we will order again .dumplings were excellent and sushi was beyond our expectations. We are used to eating in Korea town s and China towns in New York. Given that there are only 2 sushi places near where we were visiting, we decided to stop by for their lunch special. Inside is quaint (as in fairly small) and they had only one server. She was courteous and efficient at least. Food came out at a reasonable rate and some were great, some were so-so. Some of the sushi rolls had either different thickness or too much rice. I feel like Akari gets all the attention around here but that Hana deserves some serious kudos. It may not be in a hip part of town near the Marina but it actually has a lot over Akari. For one, the service. Having good sushi does not preclude you from being polite and friendly. I get that Akari is very busy but you can be busy and still friendly. Hana employees greeted me with a big smile and a warm "hi!" They also seemed genuinely concerned for me throughout the meal. This goes a looooong way with guests. If a place is friendly but the sushi is no good, then they won't last long. But Hana has it going on in both fronts - great service and great sushi! Everything I had was fresh and left me wanting more (at the end of my meal, i actually did order a Spicy Tuna roll to go - it did not disappoint). I thoroughly enjoyed my meal (everything from the fresh Uni to the Yellowtail to the shrimp curry vermicelli) and I will DEFINITELY be back. Thank you, Hana!! :) read more

I was trying to place an online order through their website. The website does not allow "order for later". If you place the order, the webpage says "it will be ready in 20-30 min". I then called the restaurant to extend my order, but have been told they did not receive it. I then asked the staff members to help me order over the phone. He was very rude and told me to call him 15 min before my pick-up time. I do not believe they can get the food ready in 15 min. It was an awful experience. read more

I just finished the best sushi dinner I've ever had at this place! The sashimi was cold, super fresh and incredibly delicious. Service was prompt, friendly and not overbearing - but whenever we needed something we barely had to mention it before it was brought out to our table. The sushi rolls were gorgeous and my husband loved the sweetheart and shrimp tempura rolls as well, agreeing that all ingredients just tasted super fresh. They have a shrimp sauce that he couldn't get enough of, and the spicy mayo tasted good as well. Pricing was great and the whole experience was really enjoyable. Absolutely YES! This is our new sushi spot and it's so good. The restaurant is small, but quaint. It's a great spot for girls night or a date night. The sushi was super fresh and high quality. I can't get over how good this place is. We got the spicy tuna roll, spicy yellow tail, and sweet heart roll. The sweet heart roll was a work of art! And it was delicious. I felt like we got so much sushi for the price that we paid. We will definitely be back for more! read more

Thank the Lord. I've found a quality sushi restaurant in Fernandina Beach! I'm giving this 5 stars in comparison to the other sushi restaurants on the island. It is by far the best. Owner/chef Aaron, who recently took over Hanna sushi, has big city experience and it shows in both the taste of food but also his elegant presentations. If you are on the island and want some quality sushi this is the place to go. We went on a Tuesday evening a bit late. We were the only ones in the restaurant which at first made us a bit nervous. I went on my gut though and was oh so glad that we gave it a shot. I hope the word gets out about this big town talent on our quaint island. read more

Very good sushi tools, I had the rain bowl roll and it was very tasty, because they don't put a lot of rice on the rolls as other restaurants. The result is a more tasty flavorful roll! I also had the terayaki salmon which was tasty and came with salad and miso soup. I would highly recommend this place and come back here when I return from business, as I am from Chicago. We first tried Hana because the normal place we get sushi in Fernandina was closed. We got the dragonfly roll and Udon with shrimp and loved it. We liked it so much we went back a few days later and got the dragonfly roll again, as well as the Thai curry and General Tso's. It was all fresh and excellent...the vegetables were not over cooked and the flavor tasted homemade and delicious. The second time we ate, we stayed at the restaurant. It was clean and the staff was good. Not a huge restaurant, but enough seating for half a dozen parties and a small bar. We look forward to coming back next year when we visit Fernandina again. read more

We came here because the place (highly rated) across the street was booked solid. And there's a reason we were able to get a table right away. MEDIOCRE FOOD prepared by unfriendly/stoic sushi chefs who clearly had bed head and goodness knows how many other hygiene violations. The place looked unkept and the table had that "not really clean" essence that you see in mom and pop places. Hana Sushi is borderline "A-OK" for me, but unfortunately, toward the two star "Meh."I've experienced better" side. So more like a 2.5 star for me. Our party of four went on a Saturday late afternoon for an early dinner. The service was very awkward. My guess is that both servers were new. As someone commented, the restaurant is very small, with tables next to each other, separated by partitions. Here is the thing though... when the restaurant only has one other table occupied, DON'T seat your customers next to that table. I mean, really, the restaurant is small, but there were still other empty tables. Why would you want to cluster your customers? As soon as I sat down, I knew that this would not work. I could hear guy next to me on the other side of the partition breath... I mean, it was like having an intimate meal, sharing a plate, that's how close we were sitting. So I immediately requested to move to another table. Now the food... My husband and I ordered a sushi dinner and then two additional large/special rolls to share. The sushi dinner stated x number of sushi plus a special roll. When it came, the 'special' roll was a simple tuna avocado roll.... ok, that's a little like false advertising to me. But oh well. The sushi weren't the greatest... the ratio a bit strange in that the rolls were tiny with very very little sushi rice. The rolls with your traditional seaweed wrap on the outside, for example, the tuna avocado roll, then has this big piece of seaweed, teeny bit of rice, fish and avocado. Resulting in that the seaweed dominating that bite of sushi. The two rolls we ordered each came with a huge plate, plus the big plate of sushi dinner we ordered... which was another awkward moment when the servers brought those dishes to us since they had to move things around to fight for precious real estate. My sister ordered salmon and shrimp habachi entree and my brother in law ordered a bento box. Their meals actually were pretty good. I kept stealing my sister's shrimp and salmon. The shrimp was big and plump and cooked just right (i.e. not overcooked). Our servers (I think due to inexperience) hovered over us the entire time. It's unfortunate that they were trying to be very helpful and friendly, but that resulted in us feeling like there were people staring at us the whole time we were eating. Not to mention, they were trying to quickly clear our table every time we set our chopsticks down, even though we weren't done eating yet. Too much service, if there is such a thing, that we kept getting interrupted when having a conversation. But they were very friendly, just need a bit more training. Overall, it's not likely I'll return to Hana anytime soon. Their cooked meals definitely outshines their sushi, in my opinion. read more
