I am extreamly disappointed with Hana Sushi. This USED to be our favorite sushi spot. We just baught some lo mein and my son found a worm in his food. Thank God he is a picky eater and was actually pulling the veggies out before consuming the food. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE and I will not eat here again. Birthday celebrations! We came here for my birthday lunch. We were seated right away, but up close to other people when there was only us and 2 tables in the restaurant - they put us between the other 2 tables. Came in late in the afternoon on Father's Day. Luckily, they were not swamped. First of all, the service is always impeccable. They strive hard for a good experience. The food came out shortly after ordering, much to the happiness of everyone at the table. The steak was tasty, but surprisingly needed salt. The sushi burrito with salmon was perfect in chew and crunch. Truly satisfying. There's no way to fully describe the Fernandina Beach roll. It's uniquely delicious. I'm not a fan of avocado and I'm meh on banana, but I wanted to give this a try anyway because I am a sucker for peach and cream cheese makes everything decadent. I'm so glad I did. The banana is slightly puffed with a very delicate crisp to the outside. The peach sauce cuts through and brightens the sweetness of the banana. It's confusingly good. I don't know how they came up with this combination or why, but it works in total harmony. The interior is very sharply colored and artistically pleasing. Love the use of red in the paintings on the wall. A good place for a casual visit or groups. Parking is usually the downside to this plaza. There is direct parking and small side dirt parking lot available. Behind the plaza is a charging station and multiple parking spaces that are usually open. read more

Overall I do enjoy their sushi. I think they give a good amount of fish in their rolls (sad when places skimp out on it). Very clean and nice inside. I love their lunch sushi special too! I think it's a great price. My only thing is, I do wish they were more friendly and welcoming. I come here often and always feel like I'm inconvenient for existing. And I feel that the teriyaki chicken or steak is always hard to chew. Wish it was tender. So sushi is great, atmosphere is great but service and cooked meat could improve. read more

I had 2 rolls, the Snowman roll and the Sweetheart roll. Both was really good! The blue crab topping was a nice switch from the typical intimation crab topping. The mixed Asian menu appears well executed. I'm always hesitant to eat at places with menus that seem too diverse. Hana Sushi is mostly Japanese cuisine with a little Chinese, Thai, and Korean mixed in. I went straight to the sushi, and it was well executed. Im not from the area, but prices seem to be commensurate with the local economy or perhaps a little low for the tourism season. Bonus star for the orchid flower garnish! Green tea was a Japanese brand in a bag. The waiter kept tabs on my cup and offered more hot water when it got low. It was 5pm with just 1 waiter and 1 sushi chef. Both kept up with the dine-in and carry out orders. Hana Sushi offers a good selection and is conveniently located between I-95 and Fernandina Beach. It's in a strip mall, and parking seemed crowded with neighboring customers. A few handicapped parking spots are very close. Whether you want Japanese Hibachi, Chinese lomein, Thai Curry, or Kimchi, Hana is worth a stop. read more

This is the second local from a place that has been called the best sushi on Amelia Island. The sushi was very good. We had 3 rolls. The giesha roll, pink roll and a yellow tail roll. The first 2 were really good. The yellowtail really had no flavor at all. This is typically my go to but I was really disappointed with this one. We also ordered clear soup. The flavor was OK but the onions tasted burnt, there were only a few mushrooms and no green onions at all. Overall the service was very good. Our drinks(tea) were refilled regularly and several servers checked on our table. 4 stars is really a strange rating for me. Not a flashy sushi joint but it doesn't need to be. It looks like they do a ton of business with take out orders. The kitchen staff was hard working during our entire visit. We were seated immediately with drinks and food ordered. They have a menu that covers everyone's tastes. I personally judge by the squid salad when it's on the menu anywhere I go. I was not disappointed. There was effort put into the creation with a bed of cucumber strings and spring mix lettuce. And there was no shortage of squid. We're ordered 4 rolls. Salmon roll, spicy girl, Amelia roll, and the crazy roll. The spicy girl was the only let down as it was bland. The other rolls were amazing (the salmon roll was for the teenager that likes plain rolls). According to my husband, the restrooms were sparkling clean as was the restaurant itself. Our son commented on the paintings and now wants to decorate his room with the same art. Overall a great great great choice. We've been to this Sushi Restaurant 4 times over the last few months. I've never seen more than 7-8 customers dining when we dined there. The food is excellent, the fish is fresh and you order Japanese or Chinese style of cooking. They have a small staff, half are very friendly and provide excellent service. The other couple of employees seem distressed and don't interact well with customers. The prices are a little more than the competition, but as I said, the food is excellent and portions are hearty. The restaurant is pretty plain, tables and chairs for 100 and no real decorations. If you are hungry for good food, then come here, you won't be sorry. read more

TLDR: Great fish, good service, alright ambiance, good price, repeat customer. I have eaten at Hana Sushi multiple times. Overall, their sushi rolls are great, decent price for the size of your roll and they do not over power the fish with toppings. Rather, the toppings seem to enhance the flavor. But here is a review of my two favorite items on their menu that keep bringing me back. Thai Iced Tea: 5/5 - Basically liquid crack if you have a sweet tooth. I have tried to reproduce this at home and I cannot make it like their's. Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl: 5/5 - Good sized portion and excellent toppings that complement the very large portion of Tuna. I am surprised at the portion of tuna that is with this meal in a good way. Not too spicy but has just enough of a kick to keep you wanting more. read more

Not the best experience here. The guy at the register was so nice but my food was disappointing. My hibachi veggies were burnt to the point that they look grilled. They were fresh and the rice tasted great but there was hardly any sauce though I had specified that I wanted teriyaki sauce. The inside of the restaurant is really nice with quite a few tables. They were busy when I picked up my food and had given my meal to someone else. They quickly cooked me a new one which is maybe why it was so burnt. Nothing fancy, appears to be a popular local place in a shopping center but the excellent food, cleanliness and friendly staff made up for any lack of fancy ambience. We were very pleased to find a wide variety of Asian foods. Our server, whose name we believe was Ethan was excellent with his thorough description of items we were unfamiliar with and on target with his recommendations.
