This was such a cute and clean hair salon. It is spacious and relaxing. They had these super comfy hair washing chairs that felt like you were laying your head on a pillow. Mia's pricing didn't change thankfully and it was $100 for a long hair cut. Another bonus was there are ample amounts of free parking so it's easy to park and enjoy a spa day. The ambiance was lovely, they also provided a variety of complementary beverages and snacks! The shampoo bowl has a head pillow and they use high-end products that smell and feel great. I definitely recommend the Powder Room and Mia!!

I showed the first stylist multiple reference photos of what I wanted, but she ended up adding a very dark root color to my already lightened hair, which was the complete opposite of the look I asked for. After expressing my concerns, the salon did have another stylist step in to help correct it, which I appreciated, although I waited nearly two hours in between. The second stylist made me feel much more comfortable and did improve the situation, but I still left unhappy with my hair overall. The correction consisted of using a color remover on the roots and applying toner to the rest of my hair, and I was charged $265 for it. At the end of the day, my hair looked better than what the first stylist did but still nowhere near what I originally asked for or envisioned. I'm leaving this review because I think communication and transparency are incredibly important, especially with color services. What upset me most was not just the outcome, but the way the situation was handled overall. I understand that corrections can take time and effort, but if I was going to be charged $265 for a corrective service after my hair was initially mishandled, that should have been clearly communicated to me beforehand. I truly wanted to love this salon and leave feeling taken care of, but unfortunately I left feeling disappointed, uncomfortable, and unhappy with the overall experience.

The salon is clean, airy, and generally welcoming (depending who's working the front desk) but the free parking at The Point is a bonus in the South Bay. Every visit I've had has been good - from the shampoo to the cut to the blowout. I savor every second because, honestly, I still feel I am in and out a little too quickly for the price. They use Aveda products, which I love, and I've absolutely spent more money than planned on shampoo and conditioner while I'm there. Every stylist I've had has been good - skilled, friendly, and patient. I think I finally have a regular now, though I forgot her name, despite asking her 10,241,029 questions during my last visit. She answered every single one with patience and kindness. I'll definitely be back...though I still plan on getting my holiday trim in Buffalo :)

EMMA, the manager at Fantastic Sams is absolutely phenomenal when it comes to haircuts. As a U.S. Marine Veteran, i have been going to EMMA for about a decade! I have had many varying haircuts over the years and EMMA is the best! She is the cream of the crop and has proven herself to be not only an exceptional hair stylist, but a superlative barber! Yolanda is the best! She's been cutting my hair for years, first at the Westchester Fantastic Sam's, and now at El Segundo. Not only does she do an excellent job, she is extremely consistent -- something that is not always the case with many stylists. Also, she never fails to go the extra mile to make sure everything is as perfect as can be on my rather imperfect head. I can't say enough about how amazing Tania Rios is! Once again she worked her magic & cut and colored my hair perfectly. I have been coming to her for years, & she is so attentive to my requests of exactly what I want done. I honestly don't think there is anyone in the South Bay who can color hair as well as she can. Who cares if it's a "chain" in a small town. I give these pros 5 stars. I have thick, long, layered curly hair and Gail gave me the best cut and style I have had in years. I have also had my hair colored and/or styled by Mauricio, who used to work in upscale Bev. Hills salons until he got burned out on the ego-trippin' and decided to simplify life... The pricing here is a bit... strange. I got a haircut here with my son, and was charged $64 for both of us. My son had his hair shampooed, I did not. If you look at their website, the price is $28 for a haircut (includes shampoo+blow dry). I'm not sure why I was charged $32 per haircut, when the price is $28. read more

However, over time I noticed that once she becomes comfortable with a long-term client, she grows complacent. Her root touch-ups became rushed and sloppy, and she didn't seem to care if she blended over or erased the highlights. She also didn't straighten the hair well afterward, and I found myself having to point out every small detail. The owner of the salon, on the other hand, is a true professional. You could clearly see the difference when one day the owner and this stylist finished two clients at the same time--one looked polished and elegant, while the other walked out having wasted her money. It was honestly embarrassing, and I felt bad for the woman who didn't receive quality work. At this point, I genuinely don't want to return to this salon.
