I've been coming here since I was a teenager. manicure pedicure fine. in my early 20s I started receiving Brazilian waxes ... I had no idea what was going on down there... a little bit less than a year ago I started doing my own waxes at home. I check with a mirror if I got everything down there and lo and behold ... pure darkness!! blackness ...almost tatttoo like.... I was shocked... I'm undergoing major peels now and the area is improving slowly... if I had proof of what my privates looked like 10+ years ago I would've Sued them ... but if you don't want black private parts don't try this place unless you totally trust her me shes your bestie...haha read more

I have been to my fair share of nail salons in New York and I was surprisingly impressed with Fantasy Nails. I heard about this spot through a friend. Lately I have been gravitating toward SNS gel powder rather than gel polish. I was telling my friend about how difficult it was to get an appointment to do SNS and how expensive the "good" places cost. So she recommended this spot to me. I yelped the spot first and was honestly very reluctant about trying it out because of the extremely low ratings. So I called around to my usual spots. Unfortunately everything else was booked so I just called to see if they had any open spots. Fortunately for me, there was. This place was a trek for me but I was so glad to make the trip. Upon entering, I noticed that the nail salon was rather run down and a bit cramped. I was pleasantly surprised at the SNS color range they showed me as I was soaking off my previous set. Emily did my nails and was very patient as I sorted through a ton of colors and going back and forth between designs haha. I ended up doing a designs because I have an event later this week. I was very happy with how my nails came out and how cheap the total cost was in comparison to the other nail salons I've been to. I would normally spend $50 on nails with the types of designs I want but I spent $40 here. It was very well worth and I will gladly make the trek back here soon! read more

From the outside I thought this place would be cleaner than another nail salon on the corner. I was wrong but I chanced it and got a mani/pedi combo. It was dirt cheap ($14!) and it's a promo they have going on M-W. They have a good selection of Essie colors and a few OPI but I would probably bring my own polish next time. The towels and facilities all need some scrubbing but Nicole my nail tech was great. Never cut me and shaped my nails perfectly. I can get really anal about how they apply the polish (hate it when the polish touches my cuticles!) but I honestly can't complain about her skills at all. If she worked in a cleaner nail salon, I would've given her 5 stars. This is definitely a no-frills salon. I wouldn't come in here if I just shaved or cut myself anywhere because honestly it really isn't that sanitary. However, for $14 one can't ask for much. They also offer $25 brazilian waxes (can't vouch for this service since I didn't do it) and I noticed most of their clientele came in for it. Cheap and gets the job done. I'd come back if I was in the area but maybe you should take some antibiotics for prophylaxis. You know, just in case. read more

I went here today for a brow wax (I didn't know where else to go and I found it on Yelp). The woman did my brows immediately. Didn't talk to me at all. But this place was super dirty. I went into a little room with a shower curtain duct taped to the wall. There was a bed with a messed up vinyl sheet and a nasty pleather pillow. I didn't want to lay on it, but I did. The brow wax cost me $8, I tipped $2. She didn't tell me I would be charged an extra dollar for using my card. So it was $11. I won't be back. This place needs an inspection or a cleaning. read more

I have been visting this salon for two years. I get mani-pedis and Brazilian wax. The wax is the best I have gotten anywhere. Very meticulous. And you cannot beat the price. They do a very nice manicure. From shaping to polishing, my hands always look great. And I love getting pedicures there. I have a big problem with ingrown nails and they always manage to save me from pain and a trip to the podiatrist. Unfortunately, there are some cons. The shop isn't very clean. And when I want a manicure that is anything beyond basic one color polish application, they do not speak enough English to understand what I want. This place was nice when it first opened many years ago. Looks like it has not been cleaned once since then. Christmas decorations from years ago were never taken down and sit covered in dust. The employees used to be friendly and professional but now they could care less about the customers. Prices are the cheapest I've seen anywhere but it's not worth it considering how depressing this place has become. Gross. read more

Came here yesterday and was greeted by the wonderful Fay. I had my newborn strapped on me so she helped me sit on the chair and pic a color. I thought that's what my experience would be like the whole time but I was wrong. Fay went in to take care of a customer in the back and the two ladies that did my medi and pedi were angry for some given reason. They didn't smile not even once , they handled me in a rough way and looked very bothered. They tried painting a dif shade of yellow gel from what I have chosen, I stopped her and told her that's not the shade I've chosen which shows complete disregard to what I chose. The prices are very cheap compared to all the nail salons around there however I would much rather pay an extra 10$ for a more pleasant experience then save 10$ and walk out feeling relieved to be out. Fay I love u and I've been here so many times. My advice for u is to train your workers more. Ask them to smile and they might get a bigger tip. You musttttt clean the dust everywhere it's getting too noticeable. The place needs a good rub down. Also remove that stained carpet it's not doing the place any good. Great atmosphere to be in, Great customer skills, Friendly, They are not over priced. The Nail technicians will go out their way to keep you satisfied. I give fantasy nails 5 stars because first time I walked in I was welcomed with smiles and they are truly not after your money. Faye and her Girls get their job done, as for the salon, it is kept clean. lets not forget these ladies are working almost 10 to 11 hours shifts. I read the previous review. The place could look cleaner but I am not focused on something like that unless it is really dirty. Their massage chair is like heaven which makes a pedicure really relaxing. Also, I have been to many places in Brooklyn and Manhattan and noticed many of them skimp out on important parts of a pedicure, not this place! They make sure your feet are taken care of. The reason I felt compelled to write a five star review for Fantasy Nails is because they have the best customer service I have ever experienced. Faye runs the store and if you have any problems with anything and need any help, she will go out of her way to make sure that you are happy. You can't beat the price. I love going there every two weeks because I know I will leave satisfied and if for some reason I am not satisfied, Faye will make sure to fix it.
