Settled for the Farmers French toast, which came out after a long time, kinda dry and a little disappointing. 2 slices of very dry bread with an egg in the middle plus syrup. Great service and products every time we can visit. Breakfast there is my local type dinner type breakfast meal. Sitting outside was beautiful. It was peaceful and well maintained. Very cute farm to table cafe with excellent choice of breakfast or lunch options. We had the grilled cheese with ham and chicken salad. Both were on homemade oatmeal bread that was delicious. A raisin oatmeal cookie was added to our meal for a delicious end to a charming lunch. We definitely will be back! read more

We stopped in here to peruse the sausages, specifically the breakfast sausage. When I walked in I was near the bakery case which has a lot of homebaked goods. I asked about the sausage and the teen at the register said, "you can look" and motioned toward a freezer case. There was some arrangement of items. Bacon and Italian sausage was in the top bin. No help or additional info was offered so I settled for the Italian sausage I figured I would try the baked goods since I was there. I bought a huge iced cinnamon bun for $5.50. This was so large that it satisfied two hungry people. The cream cheese frosting was moist but not enough to overcome the dryness of the bun. Not that it wasn't fresh, it was. The ratio of filling to sweet dough was just too small so it was on the dry side and needed a touch more cinnamon. read more

I stumbled upon this one Saturday morning and have been going back ever since. I love how everything is farm to table and comes right from their farm! It's cute and cozy and the staff is so friendly and helpful. We have ordered the apple dump cake multiple times and keep going back for it. The cinnamon bun was delicious and so was the double chocolate fudge brownie. We have gotten eggs and cheese here too. We haven't had any of the sandwiches they sell but they look delicious! Really cute place. Farm to table local breakfast lunch place. Tiny only two tables. Lots of homemade baked goods. My wife got a breakfast sandwich and I got a sloppy Joe . Both were great. Sloppy joe was made with there own beef. Breakfast sandwiches on homemade bread. Eggs from their farm. They sell gas! Also free dozen eggs with a $20 purchase!! Will now be a regular destination. A great little cafe with the BEST breakfast sandwiches around! They are pricey but consider what you are getting: farm-fresh, local eggs and uncured bacon, local cheese and home-baked bread. One sandwich could be enough for two people. Staff is always friendly and the baked goods are out of this world. The peanut butter brownie and the giant cookies are to die for. When you go to a local chain breakfast joint, you know you'll spend 10-12 bucks on breakfast alone so I think this place is worth it on the occasional weekend we have breakfast out. read more

Just stopped in here for lunch today, have been curious about this place for awhile. Very small, 2 indoor tables and then an outdoor area. Cute place. Got gas for my car while we were here. Took out lunch, it was just ok. Sandwich was good but fries were awful! The fries were very dark, and soaked with grease, even on the inside. Yuck. Baked goods looked nice but were very expensive. New ownership very recently and they have a ton of work ahead of them. The coffee which used to be Twin Valley is now some bitter nastiness which wasn't drinkable black, which is how I take my coffee. The pastry selection is trash compared to what it used to be. Far Away Farms had the best cinnamon buns around and now they aren't even on the menu! I ordered breakfast sandwiches on their homemade biscuits and sadly the biscuits were horribly bitter too. Not sure how you make a biscuit bitter but they figured it out. The sandwiches we're supposed to come with cheese but they forgot to include it. What a bummer because I woke up this morning dreaming of the experience I've had so many times here and the experience today was tragic by comparison. I know that the news owners also own Bloom in Eagle, which gives me hope because Bloom is amazing. I hope they can figure it out fast but today was a bad experience. You can't keep serving that coffee. My neighbors arrived at the same time today and were also shocked by the change in ownership. They said the breakfast sandwich on the bagel was okay (they didn't make the bagel) but he said the scone tasted like nothing but flour. I hate to leave a scathing review but the new owners need to fix this before the reputation of Far Away Farms is gone forever. read more

Seriously fresh ingredients! They even sell amazing produce if your lucky enough to get some. I had the Mr. George bagel it was sooo good! A quiet little stop between work and home for me, I finally just stopped by for the first time since it opened, yesterday morning. They have an efficient little selection of baked goods and coffee, and are ready with a *free sample* of whatever they've got, so you'll know what you'll like before you buy it (I'm a sucker for free samples), and the staff was bright and helpful, too. It must be very challenging creating a good bakery in a long-defunct gas station and repair shop, but they're doing a nice job. Tomorrow, I'm planning to stop for another giant chocolate chip cookie, and to try their coffee. They're located on 282, near the bridge over the East Branch of Brandywine Creek, and just across the street from what was once called "The Littlest Church." So if you're passing through, or looking for quirky Pennsylvania tourist spots off the beaten path like "The Little Church," you should stop by. The breakfast sandwiches are A* but the baked goods are dry and taste of baking powder/soda. I've had the coffee cakes and cinnamon rolls.

Lunch was great -- we had a Reuben and a Rachel, and both were delicious. We also had fries which were hot and salted just right. We will recommend this cafe to our relatives, friends, and neighbors. Everyone was really friendly. read more
