We have been here a number of times and were excited to come back. This time we shared the beef pho, a lemon grass tofu bun and some cauliflower poppers. The pho was very oily and lacked any depth of flavor as you would get with the clear fragrant broth of a good pho. By the way, my 9-year old daughter loved it. The bun used fresh veggies, but the nuoc mam dressing lacked the pungent and tangy flavors of fish sauce and citrus. It also seemed oily. The fried cauliflower was good with a ranch and blue cheese dressing. Not sure how it fit into the Asian fusion theme, but it was good and different. read more

Was looking forward to finding a new place but sadly it didn't live up to its expectations. First, we waited 65 minutes to get our dinner and then only half came. I could've made the tofu and veggies at home for $4 and it was $18. Simply not worth the wait or the price. read more

Fare Market is a great lunch spot for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian inspired comfort food. The pho is delicious, with all the authentic Vietnamese flavors, fresh ingredients, and traditional garnishes (And yes, I've spent time in Vietnam, so I know). The Bahn Mi sandwich is also a great choice. The bread is perfectly crisp outside and soft inside, with well-balanced meat and vegi filling. I think some of the best items on the menu though are the fusion dishes. The Bahn Mi fries and Kimchi Grilled Cheese are creatively west coast, yet familiar enough to blend well with the other items on the menu, and both are deeply satisfying when paired with a cold beer. I haven't tried the Champagne Margarita, but it looks amazing too. For all the items I tried the portions were generous and prices are reasonable. The interior ambiance is light, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The staff was friendly and happy to answer questions. After ordering at the counter it only took a few minutes to get our food. It's obvious the women who own this place really know how to run an efficient operation. The clientele is decidedly local, but well mixed. Seems everyone who lives on Whidbey loves this place, from blue-collar workers on their lunchbreak, to hipster artists sipping cider, to retirees rolling in their new Tesla. Both times I've visited there was a steady stream of people the entire time. It's busy, but not so busy that you can't get a table easily or wait too long for your food. So if you are a local who hasn't tried Fare Market yet, or if you're a tourist looking for something fresh, I definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

The only thing "wrong" with Fare is they will not move in to our house and cook for us every day. I have never eaten "take out food" this good. I wish they were open more hours and had a broader menu, but not if that would cause them to sacrifice the quality which is spectacular. Not only is the food wonderful, but the portions are huge. My husband and I each got a bowl of Pho, and split an order of rolls. We each got two meals out of our order. read more

Brand new Whidbey Restaurant alert! Delicious Vietnamese food! Pho! Banh Mi! Summer Rolls! Got take-out and chose the *eat later* option for the noodles, and this was easy- just heat the broth when you get home and the noodles cook in the broth almost instantly. Everything was great, but my husband is anti-mayonnaise, so next time we'll have to remember to ask for no mayo on the banh mi. Very grateful we don't have to go to all the way to the mainland when I'm craving pho. read more

Portion size small and food is okay but not great. Peanut sauce is wayyyy to thick, salty, and legit just taste weird. Will not be returning. My advice is save your money and go somewhere else. read more
