a plate of food

Definitely a locals place but as vacationers we enjoyed our meal. Deluxe Nachos were OUT Of THIS WORLD good. They don't look like much in the picture, but we all agreed that the nachos were our favorite: cheesy, perfect amount of toppings, & large side of sour cream and salsa to go with it. I also ordered the French onion soup which I raved about as well! The food overall was so delicious and we left full and happy. We sat in the bar area inside, but it looks like they have a great outdoor space. There are lots of options on their menu. I was able to add fried calamari to my salad which is always a favorite of mine. They definitely struggle with service. Our server was not very attentive or friendly. With that being said, the bus boy went above and beyond his duties and filled in for the server. Not only was he clearing and wiping down the tables, he brought us napkins, mustard, takeout containers, offered to refill our waters, WOW he was just great! Another issue we had was that our entrees came out a few minutes after we received our appetizers. Having all the food practically come out at the same time was very disappointing. We hardly had any time to enjoy the appetizers and gobbled it down so that our entrees sitting on the table wouldn't get cold.

Fresh Berry Salad with chicken

My family loves Faregrounds Pub and I believe there must be a new chef since the menu is healthier than in the past. I always order the Fresh Berry Salad which comes with a delicious pink vinaigrette dressing. There is no longer a salad bar due to COVID but the side salads are still great.

Wings were delicious!!!

Where all the local nantuckians go! Is that a word? Great food for a good price. Get there early for the early bird special.

Our new go-to restaurant on Nantucket. Had shrimp and prime rib and salads. Very reasonable prices.

Worst pizza ever! The tossed salad and Greek salads were ok. Not the place to go to for pizza on Nantucket.

This is in stark contrast to every other restaurant we've to in Nantucket, which have been small with tables packed pretty close together. Even with sports on the tv and people at the bar, you can talk at a reasonable volume here and not overhear everyone else's conversations. The shishito peppers were nice, fish and chips exactly what you'd hope for, and Guinness is on tap, which I can never resist. Lobster mac and cheese left something to be desired on the cheese front, but the lobster was nice and tender. And the service is always friendly. This is not a place that will blow anyone's mind, but I have never had a bad dish here. Still my favorite place for dinner on Nantucket.

The small plates were all $25+ and while the small plates were actually larger than one would think, nothing blew me away. The cocktails are also expensive, pricier than drinks I recently had at The Pearl & Straight Wharf. Pics were from a few years back, but I most recently dined this year (2026) and had the octopus, little gem salad, the clam dip and fried broccoli. While all good, I wouldn't say a dish stood out as fantastic. (Granted, we didn't order any of their more "main dishes". This is definitely a spot that seemingly is more fun with many mouths to feed and try bites of many things. With just my husband & I, we were limited to the same bites of a few dishes. The service was great and the vibes also. The bar is bustling and upstairs is so charming. Overall, a solid night out. I do find it to be more expensive than their neighbors and not quite sure the food lived up to those occasions, which is why the 3 stars, but regardless, a nice night out. Fun Fact: Back in the day, this spot was an Italian restaurant called DeMarco's and I used to be the hostess! (This was 30 years ago and now after writing that, I feel quite old).

The food was delicious and expensive. We had the asparagus salad and summer salad. Both were delicious and fresh. Steak frites were delicious and the serving size was decent. Duck carnitas was the hit! The duck was delicious and tender. The toppings (pickled onions, pickled veggies, salsa) with the corn tortillas were just right. You prep your own tacos with all the fillings. This was our favorite and we enjoyed the unique concept to use duck! It was an expensive meal but worth it! Service was great. We started with the crudités as an appetizer, and we both had the asparagus salad as our lunch - to die for! Very, very good! Priced nicely, and no negatives whatsoever. This place is always packed for dinner, so we were glad that on a Wednesday we were able to waltz in for luncheon. A must do when on island.

A few years ago, someone offered to buy my parking space for $500. (I declined.) There's often live music. (Check local publications or their website for up-to-date schedules.) There are often a number of food trucks present. On our recent visit, we had oysters from Hang Ten (enormous, meaty and sweet, but shucked with a ton of shell shards); tacos, guac and nachos from Millie's; and pizza from Eat Fire Pizza. And of course we had a number of decent beers on tap from Cisco Brewers. They seem to tend towards lightness, minimal hoppiness: good summer brews for warm weather. It's family friendly -- including canine members. Our pup is a seasoned New Yorker and accustomed to crowds, but even she seemed a little frazzled by the press of people at times.

We got there fairly early but the first band had already started, and the area under the tent was already full. We got some drinks, checked out the space and eventually we were able to snag some chairs under the tent. The outside beer area had alcohol drinks as well. 2 of us had tequila drinks, and 2 tried the beers. We were all really happy with our choices. All of the food there came from food trucks, and there were a lot of random vendors, which made it a fun, unique experience! All of our food and drinks were great. I also bought a few hats- the hat selection was really good from the band and the brewery. They also had a shop along with the other vendors who were set up. We stayed longer than expected- the first band (Grateful Dead cover band) was amazing, so we stayed to check out the second band (who were really good also). We eventually gave up our seats under the tent to some very happy people! We will definitely go back to the Cisco brewery the next time we're in Nantucket- it was a great experience all around! Everyone we encountered- whether they worked there, or weee there for fun were very nice and friendly. There was a dance area in front of the stage and people definitely used it - so there was great people watching in a super fun setting!
