I ordered a French dip sandwich and it was delicious with plenty of meat ... side salad was also very good. The service water great!

We are staying overnight at an RV park in Payson and the gentleman who showed us to our site suggested Fargo's. We knew there was a fast food type place across the street but wanted something like comfort food for our late lunch/early dinner. We looked up Fargo's on Yelp and checked out the menu. They have really nice choices for lunch and wonderful selection for dinner! And there is a path from the RV park to the restaurant. Perfect! We were greeted when we walked in and made it in time for lunch. The restaurant is very nice. The wood makes it feel like an old steak & chop house but it was modern, clean and decorated nicely. I selected the meatloaf sandwich-but left off the sourdough bread. It came with mashed with mushroom gravy. My husband decided on the prime rib open-faced sandwich It comes with one Awesome Side (their name) so he picked steak fries. We both had water with lemon to drink. We wanted the calamari fries but thought it was too much food. Next time! Mariyah provided wonderful service. Food came out quick. Drinks refilled timely. The meals were quite large. I had enough to take half home for another meal. Love that! The meatloaf was a thick piece on top of a thinner piece-as if the thick chunk wasn't plenty! It had a beautifully prepped mound of mashed with lovely brown gravy with mushrooms. My husband's prime rib sandwich was also very good sized with a large amount of steak fries beside it. There were 4 (I think-they went fast) half slices of toast (maybe cheese toast? It was delicious dunked in the au jus! The prime rib was perfectly cooked. Perfect medium rare and tender. Surprisingly, the prime rib had little fat yet so tender. The au jus and horseradish sauce was very good too! The bill came to a bit over $27 before tip. That was extremely reasonable for such a nice meal. We will definitely be back for dinner! I highly recommend Fargo's Steakhouse. read more

Lara and I spent a night relaxing in Payson. We had decided to swing in at Fargo's for dinner. Call ahead waiting was a great plan by Lara and we sat at the restaurant for no more than 5 minutes and we were seated. The staff was busy and yet they gave us their attention right away. The service was fantastic! The appetizers were delivered quickly. Our dinner was right behind the appetizers like they were watching and waiting. I had Ribeye with mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. Lara had Coconut Salmon with green beans. I have to say I love me some steak, but that salmon was amazing, absolutely amazing!!! I did not ditch the ribeye, that was delicious in it's own way. Medium rare is always a job well done. The service is great, the food is amazing. I would recommend Fargo's to all. Prices are reasonable and you will not be disappointed. We will return to dine another day. read more

I've been coming to Fargo's for I think better than 25 years if I'm not mistaken. I can't ever remember having a bad meal or bad service. They have a good appetizer selection, which basically is a meal in itself. If you are not very hungry will continue to support this restaurant. read more

Probably one of the nicer restaurants in town, although we should have driven to Duza's Kitchen. Appetizer of crab stuffed mushrooms & the shrimp cocktail were excellent the NY strip steak was well done vs ordered medium and very tough. Crab legs were excellent but the filet was super salty/seasoned. We asked to see if we could purchase a couple of tea lights to take back to our hotel room and we're told to visit the dollar tree down the road. Weird since we just spent $357 for a night in your restaurant. Great food but lost touch with who spends the money when visiting. Also we found out later we should have gotten a discount staying next door at the Majestic Mountain Inn and our server knew where we were staying but never offered it. Great steaks! The peppercorn coating was super flavorful. Baked potato was delicious too. The side veggies were very sad looking, limp, and overcooked. The garlic shrimp were HUGE and flavorful. My wife ordered a generic "red blend" wine (during happy hour, no less) while seated in the bar area and was charged $17 for a rather small glass full!!! She was with friends and didn't notice the upselling of the brand until it was too late. We called the manager when my wife got home and was told happy hour did not apply (which no one told her at the time because red is different then specific red offerings) and that the most expensive brand was provided to her since she did not specifically call out a cheaper brand. Why didn't the server tell her or ask her if she wanted the 2x-to-3x price premium brand? They shouldn't penalize customers because they are not sophisticated/ snobby enough to know the difference between a generic red and the restaurant's definition of the types of reds. At least be kind to your customers and inform them of the price penalty for not knowing! The manager was very defensive, combative, rude and loud when I called to ask about this mistreatment. She wouldn't even listen to our case and said it was all my wife's fault. read more

We have been staying at the hotel next door quiet a few times but only discovered this restaurant this time. After reading on the reviews we decided to give it a try. We weren't very hungry when we sat down so we just decided to split a 16oz prime rib and add a side order of scallops & shrimps. I'd say the food taste decent but not the best. I've definitely had much better prime ribs before. Our server was polite but she didn't seem to care about our table much. We had to wait for a while to remind her our waters and waited a while longer to ask for another martini for bf. Until I see her again, I decided I changed my mind on getting another drink since my glass is been empty for too long. I come here everytime I visit Payson and have no complaints yet!!! I would recommend lunch if your on a budget because dinner is pricey. The food and service though is fabulous. Went for dinner with friends and family for an evening out. We were not disappointed with the friendliness or the quality of service. Delia, was wonderful and very knowledgeable of the menu items, answered questions and made sure she checked in regularly to check on us.. Our appetizers were satisfying; Ahi tuna, oysters Rockefeller, and lobster bisque soup. We enjoyed the salad that came with the entrees, so we're the fargo baked potato, broccoli. The meat entrees were a mixed bag of quality; although they were all cooked to our specification, they seemed to lack salt, pepper, etc..but tender. Ordered a pound of crab legs too. This was a great spot to catch lunch after a hike. Definitely a little more upscale than I thought, so I wouldn't recommend wearing you're hiking gear there like us haha, but they didn't mind. We were spending one night in Payson while during our road trip, went to Fargo's upon arrival for a late lunch. My husband and I both had a couple of craft beers and two big salads with chicken added and they were really good.
