Byron's service and responsiveness were great. He was unbelievably helpful to me in helping a total food-delivery-service newbie. The food, however, was not what I expected in terms of taste. The pork chop meal that we just tried to eat last night was not yummy at all to either of us. We had one meal in the two deliveries we got that was a real hit. (The Bolivian chicken, by the way. And the salmon was okay, as well.) The real issues for us were that we just needed even more flexibility than they were offering -- AND Farm to Fit (as one might be able to tell by its name) is really focused on weight-loss options. This was not a surprise to us, but we WERE surprised to be eating food that was frankly pretty tasteless. Even the "big" portions were for a 2000-calorie/day diet, which is considered totally normal. It did offer the Whole30 option, which was really nice. Also keto, paleo, and vegan, I believe. So it may be great for you. It just wasn't for us. read more

I subscribed to Farm To Fit for 6 months or so. I eventually stopped my subscription for two reasons: 1. The delivery. They don't deliver door-to-door in my area (Tualatin) and my only option was to pick meals up at a gym in Lake Oswego. This was extremely problematic because the gym wasn't open to the public and required me pounding on the door, hope that somebody hears me, and lets me in (which didn't always happen). 2. The food. They offer healthy and low-carb options, which is great, but for me the problem is that they rely almost exclusively on one ingredient: cauliflower, to achieve the nutrition. Basically for their low-carb meals, they take meals that would normally be served over rice, and instead serve it over "riced cauliflower", and then when the dish also has vegetables as part of it, cauliflower is inevitably the main vegetable. So some dishes were literally cauliflower over riced cauliflower, lol. If you love cauliflower, then this is the place for you! If not... you're seriously out of luck. I'm glad that there are places like Farm To Fit that deliver healthy foods. But this one is not for me. There are better ones in Portland. read more

I was a Farm To Fit customer for about a month! Initially, I signed up because I'd gotten into a pretty bad bike accident, and I wasn't able to go grocery shopping or stand long enough to safely cook my own meals. However, when my first order arrived, it was great enough that I kept up my subscription for longer than anticipated. Pros: - Lots of variety! I would never have the time to cook so many options for myself on a weekly basis. - The menus are pre-set, which means that if you've historically been a picky eater, you have the opportunity to expose yourself to a lot of different things you wouldn't normally try. - Everything is portioned, so if you're on a diet, you don't need to count calories. - The deliveries are convenient. I had them leave mine outside my apartment door, but they can also deliver to your office or gym, instead. - Everything is very fresh! I'm not really a "salad person," but the soups and salads were usually my favorite meals. For dinners, I was often more excited about the vegetables than the meats! I'm from Texas, which isn't exactly known for its veggies, so this was a good change of pace. Potential cons: - Prices are kept relatively cheap because everything is cooked in bulk, which means there aren't many options for customization. Seafood makes me queasy, so I requested a substitution, and they were happy to do it! My brother and his wife are Farm to Fit customers and recommended them to me. I ordered a week of meals to try them out, and decided afterwards to discontinue ordering for the immediate future and let the company know of my intent. The asked why and I truthfully told them that I was interested in potentially trying again in the future, but that the meals I sampled weren't suitable to the tastes of my 9 year old child, and that cooked squash was heavily featured as a vegetable side and none of us like cooked squash (especially reheated). What I didn't share was that I thought the food was mostly mediocre with one bright spot in a shrimp dish. The chicken dishes were rubbery and the meat tasted a little off. But I was more than willing to give them another chance in the future since I know meal services can take some time and finessing before you get the right mix for your tastes. They then asked to pick up the bag or "cooler" they delivered the food in. It should be noted that this is not a box with insulation and dry ice like some meal services- It is literally a picnic type cushioned bag with ice packs. So if you work outside the home and may have several hours between delivery and refrigeration- be careful. Anyway, they asked to stop by on a Sunday and I said I might not be home, and that if I wasn't home, I was concerned about the bag being stolen but might leave it on the porch and try to hide it. Well, they must have either not knocked on the door, or came when I was at the grocery store because they never showed up. Having just had a package stolen a day before, I didn't leave the bag out. Flash forward to getting an email from them a week later telling me that they can come pick up the bag from me on Wednesday but will charge me a delivery fee. Seriously? You gave me one option, I said I might not be home, and when we in fact missed each other (assuming the attempt was made at all, I have no proof it was) I am give a choice to have the bag retrieved from my home...but I have to pay a fee for it. Or, I can deliver it to their office myself- but folks I tried your meal DELIVERY service precisely because I cannot go out to your office- nor, frankly, should I have to. I genuinely was going to try them again in the future but this customer service does nothing to inspire me. Here is what would have been better: Farm to Fit offers 2-4 time options for picking up the bag. I choose one when I can guarantee I will be home. Done and done. UPDATE: I heard back from Farm to Fit and they are unwilling to budge on what appears to be a $5 "delivery fee" for coming to pick up their tote bag. So I guess they prefer to extract $5 at the cost of losing a new customer rather than to being flexible and potentially keeping hundreds of dollars of future business. I am baffled by this decision but c'est la vie... There are a million meal delivery options out there so on to the next. read more

IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE: I have been a farm to fit customer consistently for about 6 months and this is my first Yelp review of them. I originally signed up because I wanted to lose weight and get in better shape. My partner and I both work full-time jobs and found ourselves dining at restaurants or picking up prepared foods from the deli 5-6 days a week, sometimes every meal of the day. We wanted to eat better and cook more but struggled to find the time to do so consistently. Intro Farm to Fit and my life has completely changed for the better. I have fresh, healthy meals ready for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It doesn't seem like a normal "diet" program and my coworkers are checking out my meals and asking me about them. I've done the medifast and nutrisystem type diets in years past and while they worked for a period of time, they were disgusting and I can't imagine what that processed junk did to my insides. I'm convinced that powdered/processed stuff is not healthy in any way. I rarely need a snack between meals because the high fiber/protein content keeps me full. I feel better, I look better, and I don't have to worry about what I'm going to eat next all the time. It's like having my own gourmet, restaurant-quality leftovers ready to heat up and I look forward to each meal! After reaching my fitness goals, I will continue using Farm to Fit simply because it's convenient and I enjoy the food (yes, I have lost weight and am including regular exercise so the high protein is great for that too!) I have done the 7, 5 and 3 day plans depending on my schedule that week/month. Their customer service makes it easy to change (simple email) whenever you need to and you can also easily suspend deliveries if you're going on vacation or want a break. If you aren't able to eat all the meals in time, you can freeze most of them for later. Over the past 6 months, I would say there have only been 2 meals that I really didn't want to eat and only a handful that were okay but not great. All of the other meals in the past 6 months have been really good or outstanding! To these few disappointments I say: no one is perfect. Favorites: red curry coconut beef; Philly cheese steak; various breakfast omelets and frittatas; beef tacos; pork schnitzel. The only thing I can't speak to is if you have dietary allergies or restrictions. I believe they work with people to accommodate them to the best of their ability but I have no allergies/restrictions so I'm good with whatever I get on the normal plan. Due to their business model, I'm not sure they can accommodate 100% of requests. Also if you are a picky eater, this might not be for you since you can't really pick/choose/alter meals (although I hear menu customization is coming). The chef's do a pretty good job of separating sides of sauces/salsas in little compostable containers so you can add them as you wish to the meals. I am SO grateful to have found this service. I joined at the 1,200 calorie plan, and it is plenty of food, surprisingly. The food is excellent, and I'm picky only when it comes to taste and quality. Many meals are better than most restaurants. The variety of meals makes eating fun and pleasurable. Another surprise- how much of a relief it is to not have to worry about figuring out what I'm going to eat, planning meals, grocery shopping, cooking, figuring out what ingredients I need to use before they go bad, and so on. I'm writing this review as I cancel my subscription, unfortunately, and thus the rating applies to someone who would enjoy it more. Farm to Fit has been a really great service, and I've lost a good amount of weight since we started back in April. Initially my wife and I were hesitant to subscribe as she has some particular dietary concerns (cilantro is Evil and she just cannot stand onions) but Dre and the others at Farm to Fit did a pretty good job of helping us work around those. While the meals are set for the week, we often got substitute dishes in place of something where the cilantro or onion could not be removed. Overall the dishes were great, losing weight, and so easy having everything planned out! We did not get any of the breakfast options so I can't speak to those. Unfortunately I think we're just too picky for the service. A lot of the meals were good, the majority in fact, but too often it just wasn't appealing to either of us. Turns out I'm not a fan of eggplant, that kind of thing. If you're willing to eat anything, definitely fantastic. I told all my friends it was like Jenny Craig but with real food, or if someone just brought you all their leftovers twice a week. read more

I was in Portland for the summer during COVID and needed a safe and healthy option for meals. As a busy doctor I did not have time for meal prep so I started Farm to Fit and tried their Whole 30 and Keto menus. WOW! Byron's food is so incredible and the portions are large and some single portions of the dinners can even feed two. Plus I never had a bad meal! I would take pictures and send them to my mom to show her the incredible meals I was getting. Their delivery service was door to door and always on time. They even delivered to work / office if needed. Their website allows you to turn on/off weeks or days to customize your orders and delivery as well. This was so helpful when I had to leave for a long weekend. I am now going back to AZ and wish I could take Farm to Fit with me! Also the service is local and supports local organic farmers and food suppliers so it's a win win if you try Farm to Fit in Portland. The meals are already prepped and cooked so easy reheat in oven or microwave. I have tried many other delivery food services and this has been by far the best. The food is really good and I have lost 5 pounds in about a month with little to no effort or hunger. I have got about 20 more to go to be truly slim and trim. I have been able to loose weight in the past dieting but it was never this easy. It was so easy now I have got my husband doing it too. He has never been able to loose weight so if this works it will be amazing. It takes a little tweaking to figure out which program is right for you. I got the 5 days all 3 meals (1,200 for me and 1,600 for my husband this leaves room for some snacking) and then switched to 5 days lunch and dinner because we like to do green smoothie for breakfast. Best steak of my life. Need I say more? Well, I suppose I do if you need convincing that Farm To Fit is simply the only game in town that provides drool-worthy food for prices that are equally "delicious." First of all, I do not know HOW they do gourmet meals like this for the price. If you are thinking of dieting, yes, meals are prepared according to calories, so you can order a 1,200 calorie plan, or a 1,600 calorie plan, and they accommodate gluten free, low carb, etc. I do not do this for dieting, however, I do it because I hate cooking and I need better nutrition. But I didn't expect to find melt-in-your mouth steak, vegetables galore (fresh and locally sourced) prepared in fascinating ways, trout, pork, chicken - and these are recipes that would take forever to prepare at home - you are basically dining at one of Portland's finest restaurants while watching Sherlock on OPB in your living room. Or Downton Abbey. But I digress. Farm to Fit is absolutely unique in Portland. You can find places that deliver one meal a week, or places that invite you to come assemble ingredients for dinners from pre-chopped veggies, etc. You can find frozen entrees that are delivered from GOD knows where in bulky, Styrofoam boxes and questionable freshness. The food with Farm to Fit would be worth ordering even if you just chose the Lunch and Dinner option for one week, to see how your body feels after eating clean. No chemicals. Organic. The plans are varied - you can pick three meals a day or less if you choose, and there is NO MINIMUM as far as weeks go. I order one week, which I consider a bit of a splurge, then wait a bit, then order another week. You can freeze the meals if you wish, or divide them and make them last longer. The meals arrive at your doorstep on a particular delivery day (Tuesday) in a lovely zip bag with two large sheets of ice packets, and a handle, so its like a briefcase. You set the bag out the next week, and it is switched out. If you decide to do one week at a time, they actually offered to come to my house just to pick the bag up at my convenience. There is a sheet of paper inside with a description of the meals and a rating system. You indicate if you like the meal or not on a scale of one to five, and can customize for next time. They are very accommodating. I was even told they would deliver LESS meals for my older father than the minimum plan offered so he could afford it and eat well. I was blown away by the customer service. I'm in love with eating healthy now because this food tastes better than all the Pop Tarts and McDonald's in the world, and for me, that is actually saying a whole heck of a lot! Try Farm to Fit - even just five days of only lunches and dinners - I think it's running around $120 bucks, which is less than you are spending daily, I almost guarantee it, if you get Starbucks and eat one meal out. I honestly had the best collard greens of my entire existence yesterday. They were in the Farm to Fit red beans and rice meal that was delivered to me Sunday. For the price of three hours' salary, I am relieved from spending hours in the grocery store shopping for healthy ingredients, hours in the kitchen prepping and cleaning up, and wasted food from throwing out the wilted veggies. So I paid a week of three meal a day and only took one delivery. Could'nt make myself pick finish. The food is visually okay, packs well. Uses more plastic than desired. Smells are mediocre while reheating, and honestly the food is filling if you can stomach it. The taste is not gourmet, its salt and bland protein. Every meal has 30-40% of the daily sodium allowance. Its gross and not balenced with the food. I read other reviews where fit to farm responded that the sodium was natural to the fruits and vegetables...Id say it more likely comes from salty cheeses, sausage, and other protein add ins. I love to cook and I love to eat. I recently had hand surgery, so my ability to slice,dice and lift heavy pots was out for a while. I highly recommend Farm to Fit meal delivery. I found Farm to Fit through google. I live in FL and wanted to provide meals to my daughter and her husband when their first child was born. I thoroughly researched the company and had many talks with Byron who tirelessly walked me through the set up process, choosing meals that were tailored to my daughter and her husbands dietary needs, timing of the first delivery after the birth,etc. Byron was extremely caring and accessible, he made it seamless!! When my daughter gave birth the meals had to be held until she returned from the hospital and unforseen dietary restrictions followed the first few weeks of the baby's life. Each time I had to make a change in the food restrictions I simply emailed Byron and it was taken care of immediately. Some background: I work full-time, I'm a foodie, and a health nut. My full-time job keeps me busy, my health nut tendencies make me busy after work (exercising), and because I'm a foodie, I cook A LOT which is also time-intensive. It always seems like one thing has to be compromised - work, eating delicious and healthy food, or exercise. I was spending an entire day on the weekend meal planning, grocery shopping, cooking, and doing dishes and in the end, what I ended up with was great food but I'd be eating the same thing for breakfast, the same thing for lunch, and the same thing for dinner. Pretty boring after a while, no matter how delicious/fresh. Plus, I was basically working 6 days a week. When I heard about Farm to Fit, I was SO EXCITED. You know what sometimes follows excitement, right? Disappointment. NOT THIS TIME! The food is DELICIOUS. FILLING. HEALTHY. FRESH. Farm to Fit is quite possibly the best investment I have ever made. As someone who is not interested in cooking, and as someone who tends to make unhealthy choices while on her own, having delicious and healthy meals ready and waiting for me is absolutely invaluable. The food is so incredibly good, and I love knowing that most of the ingredients are locally sourced and organic. We love Farm to fit!! The food is excellent, the menu is varied and it couldn't be easier! I was surprised at the size of the portions. I order the 1200 calorie menu and my husband gets the 2000 calorie menu. We both have PLENTY of food. I think the price is very reasonable and I can't get over the time savings! The last thing either one of us wants to do at the end of the work day is cook a meal. Farm to fit is a god send! read more
