Although the food was AWEsome and the portions were most excellent and the prices are GREAT, we had a horrible problem eating because we were being bombarded by fruit flies, at least 2 may be 3, zooming around our food as we ate and sitting on our food and one landed in my drink! Always a GREAT breakfast. Excellant fish. Ive had 1 bad meal there, it was the reuban--very greasy, soogy and not good. My son was with me so I didnt complain-im sure they wouls have fixed it. Pleasantly suprised by this restaurant. Always heard bad reviews from people but it was pretty good. The chicken fried steak was great. Bob Evans chicken fried steak is gross. But the pancakes here are horrible, while Bob Evans pancakes are delicious!! So, it just depends on what your looking to eat and whether it's hit or miss here and anywhere you go. The biscuits here are great too. The pies I've tried here however were not good. Little flavor and doesn't taste home made at all. read more

Great place for Sunday breakfast with the family. Excellent breakfast food, friendly staff and reasonable prices.

The wife and I wanted to try something different and decided to give this place a try. I had the cheeseburger and fries, she had grilled cheese, potato soup and rice pudding. All the food was great. The service was great. The price was fair. The decor was tired. The carpet was filthy. I would recommend eating there because the food and service was so good. I desperately wish I lived closer to this place! I would probably eat here every week if I could! We had found this restaurant prior to our trip to Akron, but doubted we were going to stop in because we had found another place we were interested in. At the last minute, we changed our mind and went to Farmer Boy on Canton Rd and oh my.....Best. Decision. Ever. We went on a Sunday right around the time church was letting out, so it was very busy. We were seated immediately at a nice little table. Our server, MaryAnn, was at our table in seconds with glasses of ice water and a smile! It's been YEARS since I went to a restaurant where they automatically served a glass of water. We sat there for a few minutes just people watching and watching how the staff interacted with the customers and it became clear that this was a place with several regulars, where people knew each other, that this place was family and visitor friendly. Our server took our order and it was out rather quickly. The decor may seem a bit outdated, but it was clean, well lit, the food was great and the prices are reasonable! They have an extensive menu that includes baked goods to go as well as a bakery case at the register area. Great service and excellent food, it's always hot and fresh. The prices are very reasonable. My fav is the country fried steak breakfast.

We always liked going here for breakfast, but the last time we went was so bad. I had eggs Benedict and hash browns I like to mix the hash browns in with my eggs Benedict after I cut it all up. When I was eating the potatoes tasted different and then I realized they were not cooked at all they were all still raw. We waited and waited for this older waitress to come back but she never did. I seen a last moving tables and asked her if she was the manager she said yes whats wrong. I showed her the potato's and she said oh the guy must of put the raw ones in the wrong dish. Then she takes my plate and dumps it in with the dirty dishes bin. She comes back and says I took the potatoes off and walks away. I look at my bill and there's nothing off on it the potatoes came as a meal. I never got to eat any of the meal and when I told her she said she canto anything else about it. It's a shame because we really like going here. But to just waist money on food that I couldn't eat is a bit off. read more

My girl and I had went to this restaurant about a month ago only because we didn't want to cook or clean and this was the only place that we could get seated right away and we did. Anyways, we had both gotten the seafood platter with a salad and green beans. The green beans were EPIC ! lol literally they were just seasoned right and had the fat back and what not to make it amazing. The salad was good too. But when the entree came out, I wasn't expecting much though but the shrimp was done just right. Tasty. The scallops though ! OMFG !!!!! I was expecting really overdone or crappy scallops, but I was so glad I was wrong. They were done perfectly. The white fish was OK, but it could've been crappy and I wouldn't have cared considering how the rest of the platter was especially considering the scallops. Then I got a slice of lemon meringue pie that was an awesome finish to the meal. I'd go back again. read more

As a former server of 20 years, it was appalling to me the first and only day of employment there. My Trainer, (which in my exp. is usually one of the best a rest. has to offer), dropped a roll on the floor. She then picked it up, put it back on the plate, and served it. Needless to say my 1st day was also my last. I would recommend that no one eat at this restaurant! Ever! read more

This place was recommended to us, because of the big portions on their breakfast. We were also told that it would be so much better than Bob Evans since that was where we were going to go. (We normally stick to popular chain restaurants) This place did not disappoint the portions are large (at least for breakfast) I had an omelet with hash browns and it was all delish. I would say that they don't really season but that is fixed by just using the salt and pepper at the table. We had nice friendly service and I would go back. Was our first time at this restaurant .. To be honest the food was pretty good but service was horrible and the manager was very nasty when we went to pay the check... I asked the server if I could have a side of sausage gravy on my country fried steak instead of brown gravy ! She said not a problem ! When she brought my salad it had a little dab of dressing I ask for a some more dressing ... Took her over 15 min to bring it all it was lettuce I ask for cheese for the salad they charged me .80cents for that...then the drinks are server in little kid size cups ... When I ask for a refill I got rolls of the eyes ! The real shock was when I got the bill they charged me almost 3.00 for the gravy then .40cents not once but twice for dressing that should come with the salad ... Then my roll had mold on the bottom when I ask for another one I was charger for that to this place will nickel dime you to death ... When I said something to the Manager she got so nasty and rude ! This is a favorite casual restaurant. I love their broiled scrod and the carrot cake is worth another inch around the waist. Atmosphere isn't the greatest but I'm there for the food. We eat frequently on Sunday and the service has usually been very good. Prices are reasonable. read more
