The dining area was empty and we waited a long time for the food. When the food finally arrived, the fries were cold....zucchini not cooked....and the burgers were cold. My wife informed the cashier that our food was cold and she sent over a supervisor. The girl took back our cold food and said she would be back with our order. Now we had to wait more time to get our food. I don't know about everyone else, but I do not like eating cold fries and burgers....specially for the $$ your paying. Location: 6315 Telegraph Rd, Commerce, CA 90040 My wife and I eat here periodically. We used to eat here often but due to poor customer service, we reduced our number of visits. We went 01/29 around 8:30pm and I ordered a charbroiled chicken sandwich (5 ingredients: bun, chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise). We were hoping to obtain a side order of fries but were informed they ran out of fries an hour earlier. How do you run out of fries? I digress. As I take a few bites into my sandwich I notice discoloration in the lettuce. I pull out the leaf of lettuce and sections were black. I could not believe the kitchen was trying to give this to customers. While doing food prep, someone should have removed this batch. While prepping the sandwich, the cook should have removed it. It should not be up to the customer to remove it. I hope their entire batch wasn't this bad. Not the first time this has happened to me at this location but the first time I am speaking up. I brought it to the shift manager's attention and she offered another food item...yeah right. If it was busy, that maybe would be an excuse but it was not busy. I consider myself a burger aficionado and I would say this was one of the 5 worst burgers/experiences I've had with a food establishment. I ordered a big cheese meal in the drive thru and literally waited about 30 minutes in line and to get my food. Talk about not fast food huh. And when I went up to the window, I had to repeat my order again, not sure why but that was annoying. I honestly think they were making the food for each drive thru patron as they pulled up to the window. They kept going back and forth with my order and asked what cheese I wanted. The big cheese always comes with cheddar cheese. After waiting, I finally got my food and the burger had no flavor and they put the shredded yellow cheese that you would put on salads on it, not the regular melted squared cheddar cheese. I came for the claims of 'Farm-to-Table' freshness. I will come back for the great tasting food. I like to keep it simple the first time around... a burger with Cheese, Lettuce & Tomato. I do not want the taste of the burger to hide behind anything else. WOW, this was very good. I tried their onion rings and I think that they might be the second best I have tried. My experience with Farmer Boys is one that was lack-luster, and with uninvited friends. Why are there so many flies in the dining area? The food was sub-par and nothing really to be excited about. Their slogan is "farm fresh, to the table, and to your mouth," what farm? My hamburger was cold and not too fresh, and the fried zucchini wasn't really cruncy like it should've been; which is the main reason why I'm posting this today. The service was terrible, a few females walking around asking if there was anything else that they could bring, yes, can you please bring more than 1 ranch for all 4 of my fried zucchini sticks; alone one zucchini stick takes up all of the small Petri dish of ranch they give. Also, is there no break area for the associates? Why are the associates on the restaurant floor using their cell phones and ignoring Guest? This includes the manager/trainer who was picking apart a new hire; "pants are too tight," and she's on her personal cell phone while training. So confusing! Food is what you expect from a farmer boys but this location has to be the slowest in all of southern california the wait times here are ridiculous. If your cashier is Angela you might want to repeat your order several times and it probably will still be wrong. She does not give a crap about you or your order. Oh yes and when your food is ready you have to remind Angela that she has to bring it to you unless you like your food drying out in the heat lamps...the manager was still apologizing for Angela's mistakes when she was long gone. Went to the Farmer boys in Commerce CA on Sunday at 11am. Can't give a review on the food because after waiting 45 minutes in the drive through we never got our food, along with 4 other cars that backed out. Seriously 45 minutes to wait for food at a drive-in. After leaving we went to the near by McDonalds got our food and left, drove by the Farmer Boys and the same car was still at the window waiting for their order. Too bad the commercials make the food look good , would have liked to try it. Guess it's one place we will never know if the food is good or not. I came here for lunch & it was terrible. Cashier ran out of paper to print orders & had no idea where the replacement rolls were. They changed their menu and took off the 7pc Zucchini stick. So disappointing. Service is also slower. The zucchini stick came out with super thin shells of fried batter that fell off the zucchini. They most likely thinned out the batter so much that it barely anything left to stick on the zucchini. read more

Went through the City of Commerce drive-thru around 3pm. I've seen their commercials and the food looks so delicious so I ordered a cheeseburger combo. She asked what kind of fries I wanted; I asked for the zucchini. Waited over 1/2 hour before getting to the window and when I did she thanked me for waiting (as if I had a choice in the 'drive-thru'). I asked if it was always like this and she said no, that there had been a mistake in food orders so they'd had to re-do the entire order (there were only 3 cars before me...1/2 hour???). Anyway, I paid (was shocked that the total was $9.56) but I figured it would be worth it. Before driving off I kidded w/her and said, 'so you got my order right, right?' She says 'yes, cheeseburger and onion rings'...WHAT?? I remind her I asked for zucchini and she says 'no, you asked for onion rings'. I just looked at her and very calmly said 'I asked for zucchini' so she asked for the bag back, removed the ORs and immediately gave it back along w/another bag w/the zucchini. I get home and the burger has only cheese on the top bun and a bit of 1000 island dressing on the other and one small, VERY small, wilted piece of lettuce...nothing else. I took a few bites but it was bland and the meat tasted like cardboard. I added mustard and ketchup thinking it would add to it; no such luck. The zucchini fries? 4 zucchini wedges that are not thoroughly cooked, cold, and...bland. What a waste of $$, time, and huge disappointment. I love burgers, and have been wanting to try this place since I've been seeing the commercials, but there are none near my area where we live. My husband works in Commerce and they built a farmer boys. So one night he brought home 2 orders of the big cheeseburger with onion rings. The onion rings were very good. But was a little disappointed with my big cheeseburger. It was sloppy and messy which made the bun partially soggy . She kept rushing me to order and I was asking my son for what he wanted to drink and ahe kept interrupting me if it was to eat there or to go. 2-1/2 star rating for this place is insane it should be at least 4-5. First time here and have to say wow amazing. The staff helped us with our choices. I've been to other Farmer Boy's restaurants, this one takes is pretty bad. I ordered my Farmer's burger, great burger, but the problem was, I also ordered a small vanilla shake. How f--king long does it take to make a freakin' shake? I'm normally a slow eater, I had finished my meal and still haven't received my vanilla shake. I got the excuse from one of the wait-staff, "oh, there were two #82's that were produced by the cashier or by the cash register and the wait-staff thought the order was duplicated". Ok, I can see that happening but, what about my shake? I never got my shake, I had to ask for my money back...and all I got was..."sorry". Never again will I be going to this Farmer Boy's restaurant, they need to improve the customer service. If you must have a great Farmer's burger, my suggestion would be to skip their shakes. read more

Well, I only been to Farmer Boys twice so some might say maybe too soon to write a review, but I think not. Went there yesterday with my friend Vince from school. I had been to this once before after shopping at Costco Business Center. I had been familiar with this chain for many years but had never been to one but CBC is so close to the Farmers and I was hungry so I stopped in and this was about 2 months ago. Both times I went it was very busy. That's a good sign that it's good. I had a bacon cheeseburger combo that day. I was pleased by it. Great taste and quality. Yesterday I had the fish 'n chips. Now before you sigh and say, why did he get fish at a place that is primarily known for burgers? Well because for two days prior I had hamburgers at home and I am a fan of good fish 'n chips. When I went the first time I did learn they did have FnC (Fish 'n Chips) but thought oh just frozen battered fish they take out of the freezer and drop in the oil but I read on the menu it is hand dipped right there. Heard a commercial on the radio the other day about the FnC being hand battered too. Well, Vince wanted to go to FB because he never been and wanted to give it a go so I said I'd go. I ordered the FnC. What's the verdict? From the 5 Star review one might think I loved the FnC and it was perfect, right? Well, you are right that's what it is. The FnC were made perfectly. The look of the food, the presentation of the food and the taste was perfect. The fish they use is Pollock. Good fish. There is another FnC place I go to sometimes in Alhambra called Hot Red Bus and they use a fish called Swai. Don't get me wrong, HRB is good too. They do a nice job of making the FnC but Swai is a bit too soft and mushy for FnC. If they used Pollock or Halibut or Cod that would be much better texture for FnC. Well, I'm glad that FB uses a firmer fish such as Pollock. Should they keep on doing this I will continue to go. I think I will go there just for the FnC when I get that craving. Burgers are great too but it's hard to get good FnC and they hit the mark, so I will reserve my visits there for FnC unless I am really hankering badly for burgers then I shall get the burger. Almost as important, or I should say, just as important is service. The service there is exceptional. The lines are long but the staff is quick to take and place orders, so that's a plus. The people taking orders are very friendly and competent. They go out of their way to help you there. I don't know the girl's name but wish I did so I could give her props by her name here but what happened is this. Vince and I were eating outside and the waitress brought our meals, mine first. She asked if I wanted anything else and I asked for BBQ sauce for my fries (I don't use ketchup but use BBQ sauce) and some lemon and vinegar for the fish. She went off to get it. Well, the girl I don't know the name of, was an employee sitting at the next table eating lunch. She was done and as she past by our table she asked if she could get us anything. Although I told the other girl who brought the meal I thought I'd ask the girl who was on her lunch break in case the server forgot. Well, the girl on lunch came back and brought me my requested items. What is impressive you ask? That she was on lunch and purposely took out time to ask if I needed anything. Yes she finished her meal and was walking back in as she asked if we needed anything but point is technically she was on lunch still. She didn't quite make it in to clock in or anything. She could have passed us up and not asked if we could use anything else. She took time out before lunch was over to assist us. I thought to myself that that is very good service and she is a good person. Props to you girl who works at FB whom I don't know your name. I appreciate your caring to help us on your lunch break. Props to FB for hiring good staff, no, great staff, and training them well too. I suggest you go to the place and get the FnC if you like that stuff. You won't be disappointed at all. You'll love it. This Farmer boys just opened up and it's pretty packed but their service is still on point. Diana the supervisor and Julie, I think she is the manager do a nice job. I work in an office and from time to time I buy my team lunch and I've called them recently and placed two phone orders of about 15 different things and it's always ready within 15mins or less.
