Came in a bit after 5, it was quiet and not busy. I ordered the Beverly combo to share with the hubs. Ordered the meat lovers pizza and fries for the kids. Food came out not 10 minutes later, hot & delicious. The portions are great, enough to share for our family of 4. The restaurant is clean and the temperature was cool (on a 90F day). The big windows are great for people/car watching while you enjoy your meal. The selection of food is amazing, very varied. The selection of soft drinks is great too, we were pleasantly surprised to see stubborn soda cherry creme, our favorite. If we didn't live 30 min away, we'd probably be regulars. read more

Met up with some friends and this was within our meeting point . Went based off reviews and was not disappointed. I will say it's confusing because the branding outside is Z's not Anne's . But inside the branding is Anne's. Once you get past that, the menu is mostly Mexican food / Diner food. I got a chicken kabob plate - which was delicious . The salad was amazing the jalapeño hummus was amazing, and the portion was priced well. My friends also really enjoyed their food . This place has a variety of foods from Mediterranean, Mexican, American, etc. We ordered the Panini Kabob Grill and it tasted good especially with the Nan Bread and the Hummus on the side. It made the dish more delicious. We also ordered something from the Kids Menu and it was the Chicken Tenders. It was good and a lil hard outer shell but it still tasted good either way. The service was great! You order first, then once you finished ordering, you then grab a seat anywhere you like, either indoors or outdoors. Ambiance here is nice and has lots of space to sit and eat. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place to try something new. read more

It's usually a hit or miss with this place. This time I ordered a burger salad and look at what I got. I am not sure what they were thinking. I would stick with their specials. They should consider removing items that look like this and cost $15 dollars. I think I paid for 15 Dollar avocado. If you come by, just order their Greek items. read more

Ordered the Chilaquites-1 star The worse Maxican food I've ever had Tortilla chips taste old n blend. The green sauce on the top I turned sour badly ruin my appetite. Beans is blend as well. I couldn't finish this dish at all. Green sauce turned bad bubbling sour! I told the front girl, asking if I can switch it to red sauce. I was out with my daughter, taking care of her DMV stuff for her new car I just bought her, and we were in the neighborhood, so I had her google a spot for us to have breakfast. Z's pulled up and we were only 1 mile away and decided to give it a go. Since it was highly rated (4.5 stars) I expected it to be really good. It wasn't... The eggs were okay, the bacon wasn't as crispy as I had hoped for, and the potatoes were cold. My daughters bagel was okay, she said.. Overall we spent close to $40 and I wasn't amused. The music and all the pictures on the wall was pretty cool, but that's about it. Overall it was a 3 star establishment for me, because the young lady taking our order, was nice. Came in on a Sunday for brunch. Pretty busy but we got our food quickly. Fairly priced menu with tons of options. Clean restaurant with patio seating. Love their coffee/tea bar. You would expect this restaurant to be a sit down place but one must order/pay at counter. Also we couldn't find napkins and had to continuously ask staff for them. The staff was friendly though. My child enjoyed her turkey sandwich. My wife loved her sunrise combo and I devoured my brunch combo. Everything was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. I hadn't tried Z's because of their unfortunately short business hours, but I'm glad I finally did! I devoured my chilaquiles. This was one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted! I picked up the order and didn't eat it for 10-15 minutes after it was made. That was enough time for some of the sauce to soak in but somehow the laws of physics didn't apply and the crunch was still crunching after all that time. I will be back for more. Maybe as soon as tomorrow! There's plenty of reserved customer parking behind the building. If you're coming from the north, it's super easy to get in and there's a signal to make it just as easy to turn back out. The only thing I can say wasn't perfect was the pile of napkins and plastic utensils they put in the bag, which I didn't request. Hopefully they'll soon learn about the current legislation that requires such things to only be included if customers request them. I'd attach a photo of the delicious chilaquiles, but they didn't last long enough to take one. read more

We have been to Z's a few times now when we are in town and it is great. They have everything. We love their comfort food and their Mexican food. Their breakfast items are wonderful. The place is so cute and very old school looking. It is super clean and ever so comfortable. The service is great. They get to you right away and the food comes out as ordered and hot. It is all great. The staff is so friendly. We love their French toast with banana on top with the best syrup. It is great. They have everything you might want for breakfast. We also love their burger with fresh sliced avocado on top. You don't need a bum. It is is great and you can pretend it is healthy. Their Mexican food is also wonderful. We love street tacos and their burritos are the best. You will love this place. It is priced nicely as well. read more

But sometimes it's served with those store bought pita breads that are more pillowy and bread like, I don't prefer. #207 Raffi's Super Kabob Combo- perfect for indecisive people! You get both beef and chicken. Chicken breast was not dry at all and was tender and juicy. Beef was just the same. Both were flavorful. Rice is always seasoned well. #201 Ground Beef Lule Kabob- seasoned well and tender. I did not like their Chilaquiles breakfast plate. Didn't seem coherent. Tortilla chips were just topped with sauce and drizzled with sour cream, added chopped onions and cilantro. Seemed dry even with sauce topped all over. Egg on top was over done when I asked for over easy. Stick to their non breakfast items. You can order them all day long even during breakfast hours. read more

Came here because it had great reviews, it did not disappoint. They have an amazing food selection and from the friends that I was with, nobody complained about their food. Just know, or should I say, just be willing to pay some higher prices for The food. I happen to order their bacon cheeseburger, and it was great. The bacon was nice and crispy. The patty was a decent size and the taste was on point. The only grip with my experience there, was the hefty price tag of $13 for a bacon cheeseburger. Now I know with inflation going up and everything prices are going up on food but $13 for a hamburger seems a bit much for me. With that being said, the burger was great as I mentioned. I personally wouldn't be back here again, not because the food isn't great just because I can get a whole entire meal for cheaper at different burger places. read more

Z's hits the spot! So glad we gave this delicious neighborhood eatery a second and third try, especially after my previous review. Now, with a new and much friendlier attendant, the service is welcoming, professional, and accommodating. The food is definitely still grub-worthy and reasonably priced. That was never an issue. In fact, during our last visit, some of the local firemen from across the street were also placing their orders for an indulgent feast. Z's also offers great anytime specials, and the portions are perfect. The meals are delicious, and To-Go orders are warm, neatly packaged, and hand-delivered with a smile. And there's no side-eye when you ask for a little extra ketchup. The restaurant is clean and well-organized. It has ample indoor seating and TV monitors. It also has outdoor seating and convenient parking. I am happy to have returned and will continue patronizing this neighborhood gem. I recommend that you and your family do the same. Me and the wife came here for breakfast on Saturday and I cant stop talking about this place. We've seen this place driving home and finally thought to try it. The place is quiet and clean, the cashier was polite and added humor (Which I appreciated). We asked her for some recommendations and she told us her favorite was the French toast plate. She even brewed a new batch of coffee for us! Food came out quick and hot. The French toast was soft and the eggs were a perfect sunnyside up. Honestly I would most definitely come back the food itself won me over I can't imagine why I wouldn't. I didn't catch the cashiers name but she had dark hair in a braid she needs a raise ! I want to start off by saying the only reason this place is getting a two star is because of how good the food was but your closing cashier has a negative/bad attitude. This was mine and my boyfriend first and only time ever coming here. The place looked closed to begin with even though they closed in two hours we got here at five, this was a cute little diner we spotted on our way home and decided to stop at on a whim. When walking in there was only two people in there for such a good rating restaurant which was confusing but once we got to the cashier, I now understand why there was probably no customers. I started off with my order asking for a Ground Beef Lule kabob plate, I didn't know there was more than one hummus which the cashier copped a attitude when I asked exactly what kind they had he rudely said "not what kind but what ones" which made me feel very stupid because of how belittling he spoke towards over hummus! Not only that after he rushed us with our oder he was talking loudly on his phone while just stayed sitting behind the counter. I am so upset and disappointed because of how good the food was but I had such a bad experience. So this was my first time actually coming into Z's as I've ordered breakfast take out before and had it picked up. Very clean and nice ambiance, very spacious. It's actually very convenient since I live less than a mile away. Parking is easily accessible near the back in a parking lot and designated spaces for the restaurant. If you want something in-between fast food and basic dining this is the in-between kind of place. You can sit down and have a decent breakfast or lunch. The cashier was nice but I had to really ask for recommendations or really try to get info about what's good there... I also noticed when a gentlemen left he said thank you for coming in and seemed appreciative but as I left he said nothing. I even left a tip at the register so I was kind of disappointed that I wasn't given the same treatment or welcoming feeling. You know when it's your first time coming somewhere you'd like to be treatment equally. Especially as a foodie who eats all over, you just want to be treatment nice. I didn't get that, that was the only downfall about this place and to think this is where I grew up. I live in Montebello and always pass this place. I decided to give it a try. The menu looked great so for starters I tried Raffi's super kabob combo. It was excellent. Both the chicken & beef very tender and flavorful. The rice was delish and cilantro humus tasty. Per usual though, when I went in the menu prices were $2 more than the menu pictures I was viewing in yelp. It happens 9 times out of 10 so I've posted current menu prices. It was basically $20 for the plate now. From what I see elsewhere that's the going rate for a kabob plate nowadays. I'd go back and try other items on the menu. read more

Was visiting my parents in Monterey Park so wanted to grab a quick lunch to go and found this spot. Parking was pretty easy and they had their own lot but the entrance and exits are a little confusing since they're one way. I ordered online since I knew I wanted a kebob plate but they have a lot of different options as well. The inside was nice clean and spacious, would be a good casual dine in spot. Chicken thigh kebob plate (4/5): came with hummus, salad, pita and rice which is a pretty good deal for $13.99. The hummus wasn't the best I've had but still better than store bought. Chicken was nice and tender and good portions. The pita bread was soooo good tho! Nice, chewy and soft more of a flatbread texture which I like a lot. There's also a lot of dessert options, I saw that they even sell cookies from Cookie Plug and the coffee cake looked delicious but I was being good. Will prob get it next time. read more
