Decided to stay and order from the regular menu - everything looked good: Fried Greenbeans - really good, crunchy and big - would order again I ordered the fish and chips and wish I didn't - it's like it was refried to make crispy and really dry. My daughter ordered the burger with chili cheese fries - she loved it. I tried the chili cheese fries and wish I ordered that instead, their chili is delicious! Friendly Customer service and quick. This is almost always our place to eat when visiting the Citadel Outlets. And honestly, it's mainly because it's the only sit-down restaurant there. But if we didn't like it, we wouldn't go, so something must be right. We got there around 10:45 am and were quickly seated. They originally gave us breakfast menus, but we wanted lunch, so they brought those over as well. I'll admit, though, the breakfasts looked good! Our server was amazing. Super nice, quick, delivered everything we asked for without question. The food was as expected for a Ruby's. I love how when you order a milkshake, they bring the extra left in the mixing container, so you get a small milkshake along with your big milkshake. Sadly, we're getting older and just don't eat as much anymore, so the milkshake was kind of a waste, but the chocolate mint shake is great! Stopped by on a blazing hot day at Citadel Outlets when we just needed somewhere with AC to sit and recharge, shopping there really takes it out of you. Ruby's Diner is right by the entrance and main parking lot next to Levi's, super easy to spot. The retro diner vibe is cute, and the service was genuinely friendly, staff were welcoming and attentive without being over the top. Food wise, it is more about comfort than flavor. Everything came out fast, portions were generous and easy to share, but the taste was pretty standard. It came standard with the balsamic vinaigrette but we asked for ranch on the side, which was so good! The ranch was homemade and fresh, very tasty. Also tried some of the French fries, sweet potato fries, and the grilled cheese. The grilled cheese had some burnt cheese on it and it was delicious. The fries were also pretty good, but a little more on the bland side. The service was a little slow and we felt that the waiter had a little too many folks he was helping. The staff is very efficient and clears tables and cleans them immediately after the guest leaves. I always get the mushroom Swiss burger and upgrade to sweet potato fries. The food comes out super fast and is always fresh and tasty. The price has gone up in the past few years to keep up with inflation but I feel that it's still a pretty good deal. Everyone was pleasant to talk to, servers came around often to make sure you had everything for your meal. The food came out in record time. Ruby's has a private parking lot just for Ruby's customers which is very easy for parking. They have a one hour parking limit but they will make exemptions for large parties. However the food was not very fresh. You could tell they make huge batches of certain items and have them waiting to go. The fries were almost cold. My husband got a chili cheese dog and said you could tell it was just canned chili. And my toddler got chicken strips and he spit them out every time he tried a bite.
