We were passing through on our way home as we were traveling from Minnesota and my husband saw this restaurant on Yelp. We stopped and so glad we did. The building itself is so unique. The Silo Bar is cool looking and quaint. It was pretty busy for a Sunday morning but our party of three got seated as soon as we walked in the door. We had our waters and coffee. Coffee is a bit strong but they do have vanilla creamer. Also, I dropped my knife on the floor and before I could even pick it up, someone was over to our table giving me new silverware. I didn't even have to ask. My husband and I got the Wisconsin Skillet. Our server recommended it as I was torn between so many great sounding choices. The bratwurst was mild and the dish had crispy onions and green peppers. I don't like my vegetables soggy so this was delightful. The multi grain bread was fresh. My husband had sourdough and said it was also delicious. My brother in law got scrambled eggs, with bacon, hash browns and multi grain toast, he said his eggs were cooked perfectly. I was so excited to try this restaurant attached to our hotel, but unfortunately, our waiter ruined the experience for us. She approached our table with an attitude from the start. She messed up our orders, and when we pointed it out, she didn't apologize. The restaurant is cute, and their pancakes are very good. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of them. I ordered the steak and potatoes. My steak was very dry, but the potatoes were good. Needless to say, I won't be visiting this place again. Nice place but was disappointed with the food. Had the Hayfire shrimp as an appetizer. Really good but could have been presented better as it seemed small for the price. Okay so I wanted to really like this place. Let's start in on the review. The place is new and clean which are great attributes for a restaurant. It was nice inside. They had an outside patio with a bar you could also dine at. Plenty of seating inside. The service was great. I can really only speak about our server. She was nice and checked on us often. Now to the food. I ordered the broasted fried chicken with fries. The fries were unique and I enjoyed them but maybe not as much as normal fries. The chicken was coated and battered. The chicken wasn't greasy which is also good. My issue is, the chicken nor the coating had any flavor. It was plain. I think someone forgot to season it or the recipe needs tweaking. The big gas station across the street has fried chicken and if there was a contest, I'd have to choose the gas station chicken. My wife had the chicken pot pie. Again, it looked tasty and came out warm but she said someone forgot to add any seasoning. She finally made it taste good by adding salt and pepper and stirring it up. Note to the chef and manager: Season these two things a bit. I did notice a nearby table had a burger. It looked very good from my vantage point. Another nearby table had a pizza. It also looked very good. We will try this place again in the future. It could be we just ordered some of the less tasty items on the menu. As i said before, I really wanted to like this place. This restaurant was such a good pick. The food and service were great. We were greeted the moment we walked in and sat as soon as our whole party arrived. The food was so good and our waitress Gabby was friendly and helpful when we asked questions about the menu. We ordered the French opinion soup, the silo burger( not pictured because my husband dug in before I had a chance. I had a bite. It was good!), blue berry cheese cake and the carrot cake. The blueberry cheesecake was ordinary compared to the carrot cake. Get the carrot cake! Also it's not pictured because we all dug in lol. My other family members ordered the fried chicken which is also a must! Perfected seasoned, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. That is a shareable meal. This restaurant offers better food than many fancy restaurants in the Chicagoland area. The menu features fresh, local food from salmon to cheese to some of the liquor brands available. This is the best salmon I've had at a restaurant in years and I loved the pairing with puréed parsnips. The kids chose burgers and said they were some of the best they've had. My fiancée chose the beef short ribs with a mushroom sauce and pasta and it was amazing! Our server was really helpful and checked back on us often so we were never without cocktails...er...I mean, water. There's a cool bar in a giant, attached silo that we sent visit because we had the kids along. I look forward to coming here again and highly recommend folks stop here while in the Dells! read more

This place is a vibe! In one weekend, I've came back twice! Both of my visits I chose to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful weather -- first night included live music! Different servers each night, both provided phenomenal, attentive, quick service! Forgot the name from the first, but second one was Johnathan. Manager even walks around and greets guests, realizing I had just been there the day prior mentioning "Welcome Back!". Food turned out great as well -- DO NOT miss out on the amazing cheese curds (had to order those each day!) Was really excited to try this place, we come to the Dells several times a year, so we were hoping to have a new breakfast spot. Someone in our party ordered poached eggs... the first try were hard boiled, the second were hard boiled, the third try we asked for over easy, we got "sunny side up" and not fully cooked... the FOURTH time was finally correct, but by the time they came the potatoes were cold. Then came time to pay, our waitress asked if we wanted cheese, peppers and onions on our hashbrowns, we all said sure. Turns out it's a $1 w for peppers, another $1 for onions and another $2 for cheese. Decided to try why looked like a higher end dining option in Wisconsin Dells. We were somewhat casually dressed but were a bit stunned to find other guests in cut off shirts and dressed extremely casual. The place is very new/nice but the booths definitely give it a casual feel. Started out with the cheese curds, which has a very light and thin crust on them- thy weren't overly powerful and you could easily eat the entire dish. French onion soup was good. Entre came with a side salad that was so small it could have been eaten in two bites. Cherry tomato was even cut in 1/2. They need to either get rid of this or offer a side vegetable with the me. Salmon was good, not great. I do feel like the $35 price tag was high for what you got. Brussels sprouts and cauliflower were good, again, not great ($14). Now, onto the kids. My kids wouldn't eat the food. $9, no included drink or fruit or cookie (something!) - I felt it was overpriced for what you got. The profit they are making on those kids items is kind of crazy. Overall, I'm giving it a 3/5 because if fine dining is what their target is, they missed it with the food quality and ambiance. If they want to lower some of their menu prices (like steaks and entres), then I probably would have rated it a 4 because the quality for the price would have been more aligned. read more

Bright and spacious dining area, our server was very nice. Disappointed that they would not substitute fried potatoes for the hashbrowns. Stated that items had to be served as listed on the menu. Ordered the ranchers skillet. Comes with bacon, sausage, onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Everything was ground up so tiny that the only thing you could make out were the bell peppers. And pieces of fat that I had to spit out. I was disappointed by the coffee as well and couldn't even finish the one cup that I got. This will not be a place I would be eager to try again. read more

The dishes were a little pricey, so I decided on a Caesar salad. It came mixed with ingredients that don't belong in a Cesar salad ( garlic croutons, dried tomatoes and asparagus ). YUK. Then they wanted $8 to add chicken, so it was as much as the chicken dinner. The chicken dinner was half chicken and half breading, the coleslaw had a strong vinegar taste, the mashed potatoes were cold and the carrots were not cooked. Right away, my family felt minimalized by a group of young (mean) girls at the reception area. We dined. It was ok, but I give one star for the lousy attitude of employees that are customer facing. Having grown up in the Dells and worked there, we were always reminded on our paychecks that "this is tourist money". We went on Friday. There was a great menu with many options. What caught my eye was the Friday Fish Fry options. They have two Cod choices. I chose the $22.00 Cod. I had it broiled, melted butter,mashed potatoes and salad greens. It was outstandingly delish! I've been craving it ever since. This Restaurant is attached to a hotel and conference center. It is pretty large. Gets filled up fast. Make reservations...? The Restaurant has a silo. The silo is a very nice Bar/lounge. There is a downstairs and an upstairs by elevator. The upstairs is unique due to the top of the silo resembles the shape of a kaleidoscope with clear windows in metal black triangular panes. Super cool! The Staff was all around pleasant, smiling and willing to assist (from front desk, Wait Staff to Bartenders). We ended our stay with the skillet cookie for our dessert. It was a large warm, delicious chocolate chip cookie in a small cast-iron skillet with ice cream with whipped cream. My cousin helped me eat it. It was that big. Very reasonable prices, generous portions and very delicious food. I suggest going here if you are in the Dells. . I can't wait to go back! read more

We have given the new restaurant two chances. They fell well short of our expectations. Both visits we were a party of four. On our first visit 3 of our 4 orders were cold when served. It should not be difficult to serve hot sandwiches with hot fries. Our second visit we went to the silo bar. (Which by the way is in drastic need of acoustical repair.) We ordered two brandy old fashions, a beer and a table wine. We paid just short of $50 for these four drinks. We were flabbergasted that a Brandy Old Fashioned for $12 came out of a pre mixed plastic container. That is an insult to all Brandy Old Fashion makers in the State of Wisconsin.... Home of the Brandy Old Fashion. We will not be back. If you can't muddle and make an Old Fashion the way is should be made you should not offer them for sale. read more

Service was great, we were seated upon entering around 6 PM - no wait time. My daughter and I ordered chicken sandwiches with sweet potato fries. The sandwiches were good, the fries were lukewarm. We ordered coffee, which was lukewarm. The waitress seemed unable to figure out how to get us hot coffee. The dessert was good and the price overall was decent. This place has only been open a month. Good food,great atmosphere. The only issue we experienced was the server thought a different server was waiting on us. We had been there 15 minutes and another table sat down behind us and was already having their order taken. Next time when we are up at the Dells we for sure want to try it for dinner. read more
