Salted fish with chicken fried rice
    Alan S.

Came back AGAIN & ordered pretty much the same dishes besides adding sesame chicken. You're probably wondering what!? Sesame chicken?! Yes yes LOL. Honestly, no regrets. The chicken wasn't overly fried & it was a combination of white & dark meat. It was mainly chicken that was lightly breaded. The sauce was good, but a little too salty for my liking. This time, the dishes we ordered were a bit too salty, but it's still worth the stars because eating them with white rice combats the saltiness. Next time, we can say "less salt". Maybe it was a new chef? Overall, it was still a satisfying meal. As a bonus, they even accommodate you if you're celebrating a birthday and have a cake. There is no cake charge, and they have a fridge to store your cake.

Huge fan of the sautéed razor clams dish, it's typhoon style so stir fried with ground pork and something like a black bean sauce. Clams were especially plump and super fresh, but definitely too salty for the Asian palate. With rice, I could've eaten two orders of this myself though. Lobsters are cheap here but not meaty and very watery so don't recommend. The deep fried three appetizers was good if you want to try a mix of intestines, pork belly, and spare ribs but the portion was very lacking. Comes with free dessert but none of us were a fan unfortunately.

The place has limited seating, about 10 tables. Good thing we made reservation. Excellent Chicken. Good portion. Good deal. Good Stirred fried pea shoot, it is good. Fried pork chop also decent. Bad Beef chow fun. Lack of coloring. I had better beef chow fun in flushing restaurant Lobster sticky rice. Rice is hard. I don't think it is super good deal. If you crave for lobster sticky rice. Go for it..

Great and affordable lunch menu that's available weekdays and weekends. It wasn't too packed on a saturday noon and we got seated right away. We got the salt and pepper pork chop and the steamed minced pork with salted egg, both are delicious and go very well with rice. Services are on the good side for a cantonese restaurant.

Farmers Restaurant might not look like much from the outside. It has that hole in the wall feel and comes across a little rough around the edges, definitely not the classiest place. But the food more than makes up for it. I ordered the Pork Chop Peking Style and the Braised Pork, along with several other dishes since lunch specials are only around eleven dollars each. The prices make it easy to try a wide range of dishes without spending much, and the portions are generous. The Pork Chop was crispy on the outside and full of flavor, and the Braised Pork was tender and rich. Every dish had that home-cooked quality and bold taste that keeps you wanting more. This is the kind of place where you come for the food, not the decor. If you are looking for amazing flavor, a huge selection, and unbeatable value, Farmers Restaurant delivers in every way.

Heard lots of good thing about this place, so our family decided to give it a try. Place is not that big small place. But pack very soon. Food was just ok, nothing special about it. Couple of the dishes doesn't taste right. Pork chop way over cooked and very dried. There's no service at all. Overall, I don't think I would go back again.

Came here to celebrate Father's Day. This is a small restaurant and it was packed! We had lobsters, oysters and fresh fish. Great service, the food came out quickly. The fresh steamed fish was my favorite. All the stir-fried options were a bit greasy for my taste. All-in-all it was a joyous Father's Day feast!

Came here for a meal. There is a super-size oyster. Well cooked and has good flavour. Tasted fragile and little dried. Was great. Then, tried lamb, beef, frog meat, and noodles. The spices are little heavy. Portion is huge. The spare ribs are little sweet. The noodle is not smooth but taste good. The bow of frog meat has many peppers and onions. Lamb was good. The place is usually crowded. Service was good.

Great spot for Cantonese food. Their prices are reasonable. This place is busy most of the time so I preferred to order for pickup. My favorite dish is the twin lobster from this location.

    Free range chicken. Tasty.

Second visit after a few years. Small place so call ahead to reserve if you have a big party. Price is reasonable with good quality food. Free WiFi. Crab was fresh with good market price. Sticky rice was crispy and good wok chi ( heat of the wok). The scallion Lao $8 extra to the fish was a pleasant surprise. It has mushroom/ lotus root and others as ingredients. The veggies was a little bland. The preordered pig lung soup was very tasty and rich in flavor. Oysters with xo sauce was good value but the taste was diluted by the steam water held in the shells. Yes. Will return again. Overall it's a place with reasonably priced good quality food. It can be little crowded due to limited space.

(Dec 2019) Not sure where all the bad reviews are for but this place was great! At least the food was. The only issue I had it was the little space in between tables, but other than that, service and food were good!

It really ruined my night to have dinner here. Poor service and spent a night to wait for a dish.

The food was very fairly priced and the portions were huge. We got the pork soup dumplings, pork fried rice, szechuan chicken (which came with white rice), and pad see ew (which though not listed comes with pork, chicken, and shrimp). Everything was solid, but our favorite was the fried rice which had a ton of flavor. I liked the veggies that were in the chicken dish but there were just way too many of them compared to the chicken and I wasn't crazy about the sauce. The pad see ew wasn't made the traditional way I've had it with soy sauce and oyster sauce. It had some sort of orange sauce that tasted closer to a sweet and sour. It wasn't bad it was just not what I was hoping for. The soup dumplings were solid, no complaints there. And the fried rice was great, lots of flavor. Overall, I liked this place especially for the price but I'd probably order different things if I went back.

I found parking down the block and walked over to the restaurant. It seems like more of a delivery spot because there was no one inside sitting at any of the 5 tables. It's a fairly good size space, very simply decorated, mixed with a cool wall resembling a curio cabinet of treasures. I chose a spot in the middle and went to the restroom which was clean and simple. I noticed there were a lot of takeout orders, from delivery services to local folks picking up their regular dinner. I looked over the menu and decided on salt and pepper wings and an order of shrimp. Fried Rice came out first and it was delicious. I even tasted a hint of salted egg yolk mixed into the egg mixture friefried up with the rice that signature crispiness with the little saltiness.... fantastic. The salt and pepper wings were different than the ones i'm accustomed to though the flavor was amazing. It didn't have the fried garlic, peppers, chilis, and onions that i'm accustomed to being in the dish. They were still flavorful, juicy and crisp and I could tell they cooked them fresh. That was much appreciated. I ended up taking half of my food home because I was stuffed.Thank you Msm Ellen and the Crown Garden crew for a tasty solo dinner.

We were skeptical about this restaurant but it exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to return! We came on a weekend for dinner so it was busy! We were able to snag a table and seeing how busy this place was, we knew it was going to be good! We had the pork XLB, chicken feet, pork & vegetable wontons with spicy peanut sauce, noodles with scallion and peanut butter sauce, beef lo mein and the beef ribs. Everything was delicious! The highlights of our meal were the pork XLB and the beef ribs. The pork XLB were made fresh to order and they were flavorful and juicy! Definitely on my list of best XLB I have ever had. The beef ribs were also delicious! They torched it table side which definitely added a nice touch! Considering how busy they were, the service was immaculate. They were also very attentive to details since we had a kid with allergies. We will definitely be coming back soon.
