Came here for a party (60 people). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Big and spacious restaurant. Good place for a big group or event.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food is not bad. Some dishes I feel it would need more seasoning. Service is good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have more bathrooms downstairs and it's nicer. The one on the first floor is only 1 stall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is located in Bensonhurst and is soo spacious![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Many people come here for dim sum and it was my first time stopping by for dinner. Their chicken dish was quite unique bc i've never had chicken cooked like that before but it was tastier than expected. The lobster yi mien was my absolute favorite bc it was flavorful and had a great consistency. The green beans in the veggie mix dish was soo sweet and crispy as well. They also gave complimentary dessert and fruits which was super sweet

Recently came here for dimsum with some friends. We came late afternoon on a Monday and it was still pretty crowded. I got a slip for a table and didn't wait more than 10 minutes. We came around 1pm and the manager told us dimsum ends around 3pm. He seated us with another table which we did not enjoy. It was a small table and had a difficult time ordering multiple dishes since we had to be considerate to our tablemates' table space as well. There were maybe 2-3 ladies with cart coming around. The selection wasn't huge but it had all the dimsum essentials. The ladies were friendly and would grab the dimsum under (fresher) than the ones sitting on top. We noticed around 1:30pm, a lot of empty tables but no one offered to move us to another table. We also noticed fewer carts and less dimsum coming around. Although the manager said dimsum went until 3pm, it really feels like it stopped at 2pm. The service was quite slow, empty plates took time to clear and we asked for new chopsticks that were never brought over to us and we eventually just left without ordering more. There weren't anymore carts going around anyways. The food was not bad. I enjoyed the food except for the tripe which was very bland. Otherwises, I thought the food was good especially the chicken feet which was extremely tender and the salted egg yolk bun which was fluffy. I did feel like this place was a bit more expensive for dimsum. It's definitely on the pricey side. The cheapest dimsum was a medium and it started at $4.50. Most of our dishes were specials and costed around $6-7 each plate. Overall: food is good but expensive, service is slow and dimsum ends early so come early for more options

Restaurant is very popular for dim sum and dinner. I have found the food to be average compared to other large Chinese restaurant. The take out department is lacking in customer service. You order by checking out a form and a woman goes and brings it out from the back. She then packs it at the front. She serves one customer at a time as well as being a cashier. This is very slow and inefficient compared to other places where there a is a steam station at the front and you get what you want immediately... hence the 3 stars

Food (5/5): Came here for a Chinese New Year celebration with a large group. They seated us at two tables and we ordered a massive variety of food. My favorites were the crispy pork, pan fried noodles, eggplant with chicken, and beef stir fry. Venue (5/5): Beautifully decorated venue for Chinese New Years. The restaurant was spacious and clean with a grand Chinese restaurant vibe. The only gripe was that the walkway to the bathroom got very slippery. Service (4/5): Considering it was a really busy Chinese New Year, they did a reasonably good job of getting the food out in not too long of a period and the people generally helped when asked.

We came here to celebrate mother's day! We were seated but waited roughly an hour for the first dish to come out. Everything tasted fresh and flavored. I would recommend the California prawn shrimp if you like shrimp. It tastes sweeter than regular shrimp. I also liked rhe lamb chops as they were slightly crisped and did not taste gamey at all. The beef ribs were great and it's sauce was on the sweeter side compared to an American cuisine. The snow crabs were also fresh and meaty. However they didnt provide the crab crwcking tool. The coconut dessert were complimentary and had jelly texture. I would give 5 stars but their service was slow.

Our local dim sum spot with classic favorite dishes. Recently held an event in a private room for about 20 people and we were pretty impressed by the fast and attentive service! We ordered maybe too much dim sum (though guests happily brought leftovers home) and a few bigger entrees: mayo shrimp was excellent, lobster sticky rice was a hit, yi mein stirred up a debate (you either LOVE it or feel like they resemble rubber bands). Outside of a private event, this is our usual go-to. It can get pretty busy on weekday mornings!

This restaurant is has been my family's go-to in the neighborhood since it's opening a few years ago. The dim sum is fresh and the prices are reasonable. It is also more spacious than others without having to travel to the 8th avenue area or into Manhattan. If you stop in for dim sum, do not sleep on the salted egg yolk baked buns. They look like the typical pineapple buns until you take a bite and discover the oozy sweet and savory filling inside.

Craving traditional Cantonese food... here we are! Typical Cantonese restaurant, bunch of round tables for family dining. They also have screens that creates private rooms. It wasn't busy (yet) so we were able to order quickly and got our food quickly as well. I was definitely looking for stir fry conchs in XO sauce.. alas... that dang supply chain!! Ugh! No luck. So we ended getting Geoduck and had that sautéed in veggies & crispy tofu. Jumbo shrimp with walnuts, salt & pepper pork chop, braised short ribs, clams in black bean sauce, stir fry veggies and a crab & fish maw soup! We enjoyed everything but then we saw a bunch of deliveries on snow crab. What?!! And then we wish we had ordered the snow crab! lol guess it's on for next time! #yelplife #traditionaldining #cantonesefood

Amazing food, great service, beautiful & clean restaurant! It's been over a year since I had a proper Chinese dinner with my family and Golden City certainly hit the spot. Anything you order is cooked to perfection with the freshest ingredients. The crispy noodles and the tofu/eggplant were epic, Presentation and quality were top notch! The restaurant is very nicely renovated and they keep it spotless. Management is super friendly and accommodating. John+Kevin asked what we were in the mood for and walked my family through what's fresh. They worked hard to make sure we walked out with full bellies and smiles on our faces! A+ experience!!!

Not worth it. I don't mind the high price if the food were good. The food has no taste and it's very blend. Some dish is decent size and couple of the dish the portion is a joke for that price. One of the appetizers combo dish we order was still frozen and the beef is spoiled. The eel was way overcook and very chewy. Overall, the food were below average.

The food was very fairly priced and the portions were huge. We got the pork soup dumplings, pork fried rice, szechuan chicken (which came with white rice), and pad see ew (which though not listed comes with pork, chicken, and shrimp). Everything was solid, but our favorite was the fried rice which had a ton of flavor. I liked the veggies that were in the chicken dish but there were just way too many of them compared to the chicken and I wasn't crazy about the sauce. The pad see ew wasn't made the traditional way I've had it with soy sauce and oyster sauce. It had some sort of orange sauce that tasted closer to a sweet and sour. It wasn't bad it was just not what I was hoping for. The soup dumplings were solid, no complaints there. And the fried rice was great, lots of flavor. Overall, I liked this place especially for the price but I'd probably order different things if I went back.

I found parking down the block and walked over to the restaurant. It seems like more of a delivery spot because there was no one inside sitting at any of the 5 tables. It's a fairly good size space, very simply decorated, mixed with a cool wall resembling a curio cabinet of treasures. I chose a spot in the middle and went to the restroom which was clean and simple. I noticed there were a lot of takeout orders, from delivery services to local folks picking up their regular dinner. I looked over the menu and decided on salt and pepper wings and an order of shrimp. Fried Rice came out first and it was delicious. I even tasted a hint of salted egg yolk mixed into the egg mixture friefried up with the rice that signature crispiness with the little saltiness.... fantastic. The salt and pepper wings were different than the ones i'm accustomed to though the flavor was amazing. It didn't have the fried garlic, peppers, chilis, and onions that i'm accustomed to being in the dish. They were still flavorful, juicy and crisp and I could tell they cooked them fresh. That was much appreciated. I ended up taking half of my food home because I was stuffed.Thank you Msm Ellen and the Crown Garden crew for a tasty solo dinner.
