Three of us had brunch there for my adult son's birthday. Restaurant was busy but we managed with a table usually for two. The service was perfect. Son ordered a Benedict meal and my vegan daughter-in-law and I ordered veggie quiche. Our only issue was the high noise level. There was a huge baby shower in the side room and the restaurant was completely filled with happy, chatty diners. We'd happily return in a heart beat. read more

Came for Mother's Day brunch, everything was delicious. Usually with a buffet you expect something won't be as good as normal, but my entire party was very happy. Was a bit tight sitting inside; however, the staff was super friendly and kept the table clear and drinks coming! Neglected to take photos of the food but plenty of great options! Located at the Silo Point Country Club, the Brunch House 1850 restaurant is a little off the beaten path. GPS was not my friend on this trip and the signage was a little hard to see, but we found it after only driving past it once. The hostess stand and dining area are just to the left, through a doorway when you enter the building. Reservations are suggested and after visiting today, I can understand why. Even with a reservation, we were seated by the bar/party room. Unfortunately, it made hearing my mother-in-law almost impossible to hear. Besides the loud music and even louder chatter from the attendees at the baby shower, we were constantly interrupted by the partygoers. I had to move for people going through the doorway, making room for large gifts and a woman's walker. At one point, we were even by a family of party guests to take a picture standing by the doorway and a decorative tree. The group grew and I had to leave the table to make room. So, why 4 stars? The staff were amazing and the food was even better. The ladies at the hostess stand were pleasant and our waiter was very friendly. My Tipsy Leprechaun Martini was brought by another cordial server. Our drinks were brought quickly, orders were taken, and our meals were delivered quickly. I ordered the Oscar Benedict with crabmeat and asparagus served over polenta with a side of homefries. My mother-in-law chose the Classic Benedict also with the homefries. We were both impressed with the presentation of the meals, the portion size and the seasoning of the homefries. The crabmeat ratio to the portion size was perfect. The eggs were made correctly and the sauce was bright and not too heavy. I would definitely give the Brunch House a second chance, but maybe ask for a better seat. read more

This is a go to location for a wonderful Brunch and terrific setting. Their outdoor venues are right on the Silo Golf Course and the inside atmosphere is charming as well, although a bit noisy at times. read more

First, I will say I attended a baby shower at this restaurant and it's an adorable area and the food was spectacular for a large event. Please note that the bathroom is located where the party area is therefore restaurant goers need to cross through your party to get there. Prior to the baby shower I visited to try brunch. I will say the food all looked really good. My friends ordered some amazing food. I chose the steak and eggs and in the first picture the eggs with the potatoes look so good but unfortunately, my steak was Just really gross. No other way to put it. You can look and see in the picture. It just looked off. I'm not someone who make a fuss about something like that so ate what I could and moved on. I'll definitely try this restaurant again, but I will not be ordering that meal. read more

Brunch House is such a hidden gem! The location is beautiful, it's right on a golf course, so you get peaceful views while dining, especially on the outdoor patio during the summer. The food was fantastic from start to finish. We had the steak and eggs, a crispy panini with golden onion rings, and the pancake tacos filled with fresh strawberries, bananas, and blueberries. For dessert, the crepe was massive and wrapped like a burrito, and it was absolutely worth saving room for. They also have a great selection of refreshing summer cocktails. read more

I was in the CT area for a wedding and so happy I stumbled upon this amazing brunch spot. The warm apple cider was delicious; I had the taco breakfast bowl with all of the fixings ie. eggs, avocado, bacon, chives, hashbrowns, and this sauce that brought everything together. Our waiter had wonderful insight of the menu and made it hard to choose just one item so I had to purchase a meal to go. It was the honey mustard protein bowl and let's just say it almost didn't make it's way back to MA it was so good. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking this place out. Even before stepping inside Brunch House 1850, my marvelous experience began. The drive, featuring charming views of the fall foliage and Silo Point Golf Course, created cozy anticipation. The restaurant's adorable entrance looked straight from a postcard, promising a charming meal. The space was warm and inviting, featuring multiple stone fireplaces glowing with warm flames. The decor was thoughtful and jolly, with October skeletons, farmhouse accents, neon signs, and various fun phrases. The vodka was vigorously chilled and strained into the martini glass before me. The glassware was ordinary and held a large pour. The even number of olives used to garnish were smaller but held their own in the beverage. The length and simplicity of the skewers left something to be desired. My brunch was stellar, and the cuisine was plated excitingly and polished. Each bite was excellent, thanks to the perfect layering of the pastrami's pepper and spice, the acidity of the sauerkraut, and the smooth texture of the creamy Russian dressing. Beautiful old house in a beautiful setting, across the road from a golf course. Large parking lot, several different rooms to eat in, or eat like we did outside on the awning-covered porch. Service is leisurely, but this isn't the place for fast food. You come for the good food and the gorgeous area. We were 4 for lunch (1:30 pm), and had called ahead for a reservation, specifying that we would like to sit outside. There were walk-ins on this lovely sunny but not too hot almost fall day so we waited a few minutes, no biggie, to be seated. They offer an extensive menu! From eggs to bowls to paninis... I'm a huge fan of eggs Benedict without meat. They had a crabmeat version, served on polenta patties, with the poached eggs over asparagus spears and the crabmeat sprinkled on top. The eggs and asparagus and polenta were very good. The crabmeat was disappointing, way too salty. And my cousin who was sitting across from me when it was served she said it smelled fishy. Oh well, can't win 'em all. I certainly ate it all anyway! Came with chunky home fried potatoes. My husband said his veggie panini was very good! And he liked the sweet potato fries in lieu of home fries for a reasonable upcharge. My cousin had the French toast, with fruit, looked great! Her husband had a bowl of some sort. Here's the fun(ny) part... There are of course French toast and pancakes on the menu. I prefer a savory meal but wanted a little something sweet. I asked the group if they'd share an order of pancakes but they weren't very enthusiastic. The waitress told me that I could order just 1 pancake on the side. Sounds like a plan, right? I asked for the one pancake and whipped cream. Well, we had a good laugh when out came a pancake the size of a personal pizza! With 4 mounds of delicious whipped cream on the 4corners of the plate! My husband and I brought my mother-in-law to 1850 House for Sunday brunch to celebrate her birthday. We arrived at 12 and they were slammed! We were grateful to the hostess who managed to get us a table and definitely know to make reservations next time. The vibe is adorable here - the aesthetic is trendy while maintaining the charm of the 1850 building. The view of the golf course will be beautiful in the summer! Service was definitely on the slower side, and we were here 2 hours which we didn't expect for brunch, but we understood with how busy they were. Drinks were good, and food was okay. We did think we've had better corned beef hash, and my steak in my salad was a little tough. Overall it's the nicest place for brunch in the Southbury area, and I would definitely come back to enjoy the vibe! read more

Very nice old fashioned country inn with fair service and excellent food. Prices are reasonable with a varied menu. Parking is very good. Enjoy the golf club views especially on the patio in good weather. This is not a fast food place so be prepared to relax and enjoy. read more

First thing- the address is wrong. It's 137 Country Club Lane, not 137 East Hill Road. Put that in the GPS, and it doesn't exist. The servers seemed rude and like they didn't really care or have time to deal with you. I get that it was brunch on a Sunday, busy time, but at least don't be f'in rude about it. At least two of the people in our party of five got sick after eating the food- they did both eat similar dishes. I ordered a peach Bellini mocktail- it tasted nothing of the sort. It actually just tasted like battery acid. Long story short- save your time. It's clear from the reviews that this place closes and reopens under a new name less than a year later because of how bad it is. read more

When my father passed away this past June, Carpino Funeral Home handled his service. When I realized we'd have some senior family members coming in from a distance, I asked Carpino's team if they knew of a good local place to gather for a meal after the service. Without hesitation, they recommended Brunch House 1850. With just two days' notice, the team at Brunch House 1850 was able to reserve their sunroom and arrange a buffet of absolutely delicious food for a party of fifteen. They set up the room beautifully, leaving space for our flowers and a portrait of my dad. The room itself was gorgeous, overlooking the golf course. The air conditioning was comfortable and refreshing, and my family was completely "wowed" by the entire experience. We were able to connect and console one another in a beautiful setting while enjoying a fabulous meal on an emotionally draining day. They kept plenty of coffee and tea available throughout our visit, and we added cocktails and desserts à la carte for anyone who wished to indulge. This venue offers Brunch/Lunch, and has just introduced a 'Happy Hour' with entertainment. They have an extensive cocktail menu, and their dining menu offers something for everyone's tastes. The portions are more than generous! The staff is welcoming and attentive. I will definitely return with my husband for Sunday Brunch. Seeing as we are too old for trick-or-treating, we chose to celebrate Halloween over lunch at 1850 House today. We'd heard good things about this restaurant, and were really psyched to try it! We were definitely NOT disappointed! The staff were so friendly and accommodating of two old ladies with mobility issues. The dining area was light and bright with a fresh new decor, and there was plenty of space between the tables to navigate with a walker and a cane. The waitress was attentive, and the food was excellent! Prices are comparable to other fine dining restaurants in the area, and our whole dining experience was well worth the cost! This was my first time here since the new owners - which I understand is about a year. Pleasantly surprised at how bright, airy and "happy" the place was due to the renovations. Dana, the bartender and server, was delightful to talk with while she and another friendly server tended to all the tables. I had a recommended cocktail which was very delicious. Went to a Farm in the area to go pet some goats coming heading Back to Norwalk we wanted to find a Spot around the Southbury area close to the Farm we were at and we happen to find this place came in and it looked really Busy and was Expecting a little bit of a Wait not at all we were seated very quickly and they got us Drinks and the Food was really good I had the Burger that was cooked Perfectly and a French Onion Soup that was also really yummy I was very Impressed with the place would come back again read more

Everything that I personally saw coming out of the kitchen looked too good to be true. The salads were very big and didn't appear to be eaten at one setting. The service was good but a little slow,however since everything is made to order and not pre-cooked it is not an unexpected consequence. They seemed busy but not THAT busy. My food was very good but my wife's who ordered a crepe was not happy, it was served as a cold dish, which would have been nice to know either from the menus of the server, who seemed to busy chatting behind the bar to bother with us. read more
