As an ABCD I felt more "C" (confused) than usual after trying to understand this menu. I it could be that I'm not accustomed to desi fusion. I didn't feel super confident about trying the creative choices listed - too much risk. I didn't necessarily understand the reason for offering some of these flavor combinations. We went with CTM, chicken biryani and black daal with a few parethas and naan. The waitstaff today didn't really have the full context of the traditional preparations so they couldn't explain the nuances of the Farzi menu. I might try again down the road with a adventurous group and sample a broader set of selections. read more

The ambience and service was excellent. My glass was never empty and I didn't have to wait more than 15 mins for any of my dishes. We don't have a lot of good ambient indian restaurants. Also, we have a dearth of Indian fusion places in greater seattle area and hence this restaurant is a must try ! It has visually appealing and tempting food and some dishes are finger licking good. We tried the soya Chapa, guntu chicken, daal makhani, chicken tikka masala and Kapha and vaat mocktails. The guntur chicken was delicious, although I wouldn't say the chicken tikka masala was out of the world, the fact that it wasn't sweet, won my heart ! The soya Chaap and daal makhani were decent, not bad at all. I found the daal makhani a little extra buttery to my taste. But overall must try experience!! read more

Great experience! Lamb chops were fantastic and cooked to perfection. The kiwi puchkas were delightful and the flavor erupted in my mouth. The texture of the soya chaap was perfect. The food is ok, a little too salty and very small portions. I ordered 6 dishes for over $100 ( 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 bread). The entree lamb only has 3 pieces. The bread is like a tiny piece for each person. My waiter was staring at me when I signed the check. Me and my husband need to grab something else after leaving the restaurant. We ordered Vegetarian dishes and our favourite was the Jackfruit veggie. The chef is experimenting with traditional Indian dishes with modern touch. Just not worth your money! I am 'farzified' by how small their portion is and how pricey they are. Two unique dishes - kiwi puchkas and jackfruit in banana leaf. Rest of the dishes are nothing special. Drinks are like water. The decor is nice but the ambience is blah. They should make it a 21+ on one nite or after a certain time of the evening if they want the experience to not be like Chaat house! Their staff is not trained well either. The experience in India few years ago was memorable. This was frustrating and we were left wanting for more. We were 5 of us and no one was impressed. We visited the much anticipated Farzi Cafe in Downtown Bellevue today. Must say, that the interiors are better than the one in Mumbai. The bar is well lit and inviting! The cocktail menu is interesting and I had my Aries (zodiac) cocktail which was amazing. Let's get to the food. Our group had ordered a variety and we LOVED LOVED LOVED the taste! Food took a little longer, but we had time and were in to spend a relaxing evening. Plus it was just their second day. Dishes ordered- Aburi Salmon, dal chawal aranchini, jackfruit polichattu, millets khichdi (doesn't sound inviting? But it's amazing!), saag burrata and rack of lamb. I was pleasantly surprised to know that they serve Roomali Roti, hence ended up ordering that for myself as it has always been my favorite back home. Everything was fantastic. Had no space for dessert, but there's always next time! Waiting to go back after a few days, when the reservations open up. Glad that Bellevue Downtown now has a genuinely good Indian eatery on par with other good restaurants around. read more

Let me start by saying that the bar program at Farzi Bellevue is absolutely one of the best in Washington and definitely the best in Bellevue. The bartender Adam and ReAnn are extremely knowledgeable, creative, and attentive. We look forward to trying new drinks every time we are here as this has become the new spot! The food was mediocre. Chicken tikka tasted like the frozen Trader Joe's meal. They try to be all innovative with the fusion but it honestly didn't really work. The real reason for the 1 star started with waiting forever to be seated even though we had a reservation. They don't even have adequate space to wait. You're literally a sardine can waiting. To make matters worse, the fake blonde slicked back hostess gave us an attitude for being too close to the hostess area. Again, there's literally zero space to wait comfortably. Took the team here for a work dinner. We were 6 people. The table we were seated at was a very small awkward shape booth. We got a 5pm reservation to cut the crowd so I'm surprised this is the only table they could get us. Appetizers came out pretty soon after we ordered which was good. We started off with 2x chili chicken and a prawn tempura. It was too little. There were only 3 prawns in the tempura so we ordered another prawn tempura and a dal chawal arachini. So 5 appetizers for 6 people. The chili chicken and prawns were well seasoned and flavorful. Then we ordered 6 main dishes: lamb chops, achari salmon, the CTM, kaali dal, poached halibut and the chicken biryani. Along with 6 pieces of bread. It was not enough and we had to order 3 more entrees and 3 more breads. The CTM was very good and so we're the achari salmon and the lamb chops. Well spiced and cooked medium for the latter. The poached halibut was too bland and so was the dal. Too much butter but not the right flavors. The biryani had 2 small pieces of chicken probably. The garlic naans and laccha parathas were really small compared to what you usually find in any mughlai restaurant. The roomali rooti was too thick, not rolled properly and totally not the right handkerchief (roomal) like texture. Server was nice but I ordered the dal and she was clueless- she needed me to say "double buttered kaali dal". The mocktails were good. Good service and ambience. Table size - needs to improve especially for a family style meal. Food- needs to improve. I've been to Farzi Cafe in Dubai several times and this just doesn't compete. read more

It was a Monday evening and the restaurant was 15% occupied as I was seated. We ordered a couple of mock tails (Kapa and Pita) and a couple of Apps. The Sag Burrata was nice, Sag served at room Temperature with a kale chip garnish. The Guntur Chilli chicken did disappoint. Maybe it is because it is a Monday evening and they were trying to get rid of the weekend leftover. We than ordered Mutton Bunna , Chicken Zafrani Biryani and lacha parata. The Mutton Bunna carried the stale flavor of weekend leftovers and the bigger disappointment was the Biryani which was served with two small chicken pieces, one chicken wing and some other part, both on bone. Very reluctantly I asked.for the chef who came and started explaining how they weigh the chicken to be 175 gms and the Biryani rice to be 350 gms instead of offering to make amends. We returned the biryani back to kitchen asked for our cheque. The waitress came with a mobile POS and took our payment without offering our bill. After payment we asked.for our bill. She came and gave us our bill and we found they charged.us for the Biryani. I asked for the manager and asked him to take the Biryani off our bill. He did that reluctantly. By now our dinner was ruined and we were ready to get out and not return back ever. After leaving a generous tip of 25% for the mediocre stale food on our way out I was surprised to find the owner a lady sitting at the bar with the mobile POS machine (probably the owner) staring daggers at me. Then I walked to the bathroom and in middle of the dining room is a big commercial fridge- odd. The server was nice, but felt like any question we asked - he was ready to apologize / hint to lower our expectations. For example, asked if they had tea and he said will it is powdered so many people complain, I appreciated the honesty, but it is off putting to be paying $$$$ for food that their own team is not proud of. Had different service people come to table, and no one could describe food-ingredients or what to expect. So if restaurant's own team is not expert of their own food - who is? If you are looking for Indian food - you will be disappointed. If you are open to trying fusion interpretations, then consider this place. At one point they turned off all the overhead lights, and maybe because of all the incoming light from snowflake lane, it just felt like -did the power go out or is this part of the concept? I've been to this place once. It was without my husband, and we both love Indian food. so, for his birthday which was on a Wednesday we decided to reserve a table. The hosts (just like the first time) were so unfriendly that in the first second, you feel like why you even bothered. No smile, no greeting, and they didn't even bother to come forward for the first 5 minutes or more. they offered us an uncomfortable bar chair although I had the reservation. Our server explained the dishes and made recommendations. Decor was fantastic, very high end. All the food options were unique and flavorful. Disclaimer: i am not Indian but just a Indian food lover!!! Farsi is a a little bit lack of creativity compared to another modern Indian restaurant Rasai. Farzi's starters are pretty fun and yummy, while it still serves comfort Indian food as mains, not quite mix-fusion or creative Indian cuisine. Rasai might not be that authentic but quite creative for their mains! Also drinks and nans (nans are authentic!) For drinks, the concept of 12 star signs are pretty cool. Four drinks we tried are all good (I think the highball one is dope with the sesame oil. Yes it's fun). A little pricy at $18 for each, but it's Bellevue Square so should add some biz cost lol read more

This was a disappointing visit. As someone who loves Londons Dishoom, had wanted to like this place. Price point was high for the taste of the food that was delivered. Our server had told us none of the dishes we ordered will be spicy as we were there with our kid which was definitely not true.
