Ended up buying Hunter Douglas again, but with Luis helping with the decision and his team installing, the blinds are great. New home builders use them, so they are constantly super busy, and my home had everything in it from One Stop. One of the door knobs to the guestroom fell out and was missing a tiny part, so the whole thing needs to be replaced. A guest got locked in and had to bang on the door. It took a month of constant calling and having trouble getting hold of the right person there to get it ordered. They no longer had my information because it was out of warranty. I paid upfront, and that was on October 18. Today is October 4 and I still have heard nothing. They will have to set up an installation appointment once the product comes in. They may have only one installer. At the rate things are going I'm thinking I will not have this fixed by Thanksgiving.

I called and spoke to a woman about my issue with my drapes. She informed me that her main guy that would go out to look at it was out until August 16th, however she had someone else that may go out. I said I had pictures of the situation and she asked me to send them over which I did. 10 days later, with no response, I followed back up. She remembered our conversation and said she did receive the pictures I sent over. She said she will have "her guy" look at the pictures and will call me back that day, which was the 9th of August. Today, as of August 13th, she has not called me back. Instead of leading me on, if it was too small of a job for them, they could have just told me that. This is not the way you conduct business with a customer.

We contacted Jane and agreed to initially start out with a meeting at her store to share our ideas and learn more about her business. At our meeting, we felt that Jane was so knowledgeable, friendly, and really listened to our wants. On a side note, we noticed the 'Certificate of Appreciation' by the LAPD (see photo) for her contributions to the Rampart Division's Children's Room. We thought that was a nice reflection of who Jane is and further confirmed our thoughts of her. So we decided to have Jane come to our place to start the process. Jane came out to conduct measurements and brought cool sample fabrics for our son's room in which we decided to go with a vivid and colorful pattern with comic-like birds which brightened up the room and went with some modern pull-down shades that complement the dining room perfectly. A couple of things I noticed is that (1) Jane offered her expertise and suggestions along the way to give us some better ideas and (2) was never pushy or forceful throughout the interaction. Jane is a very sweet individual and works very collaboratively with the customer to ensure that he/she is getting exactly what they want down to every last detail. The installation was handled very efficiently and the results are perfect! Even though they may be a small, family-owned business, Jane has been in the business for over 40 years and you can tell why. The results were so perfect that we have Jane and Torrance Draperies back to drape my in-laws new home! I know draperies can feel like buying a car in that you want to customize them to the very last detail according to your taste.
