Hello first pedicure in over 6 months! Just moved to the neighborhood from midtown and was in dire need for a pedicure. Turned to Yelp to help direct me on which nail salon to choose! Decided on Fashion Nails and came in about 30 minutes later. Had a nice average experience! They tried to upsell me several times but it's okay because I'm in sales too so didn't mind it while others might. My total for my pedicure (I added on a 10 minute foot massage for an extra $15) was $43 not including tip and tax. I tipped her $10 so my grand total was $57. Kind of expensive considering I didn't get much of a luxury pedicure at all. No one was inside when I came in and the sweet young woman who did my pedicure definitely took her time- my pedicure was about 1 hour long which was nice. However, are tools sterilized? I'm uncertain. The chairs don't have any massage function which I really missed as well. For covid19 protocols they did great. Each station has its own nice plexiglass and every staff member was wearing masks. One person inside at a time is awesome. This place is relatively close to my home so I might return but unsure. read more

Worst manicure of my entire life. The woman taking off my previous gel manicure filed all the way through my actual nail and now they are bumpy and uneven. She filed so far into my pointer finger it cracked and hurt so badly. I took the gel off at home and now I have to let my nails breathe/grow back for a long time. Do not go here. read more

We were pleasantly surprised. they did an amazing job and our nails are perfect. they gave us free hand and feet collagen masks. $50 for a mani pedi is a little much but during the pandemic I don't mind spending a little extra on a small business. overall I had a good experience and I would definitely come back. give this place a chance! read more

The acrylics looked terrible when she was done, (crooked, different sizes, bumpy) so she reluctantly me a slight discount. With that said, the manager, Angela, has offered to make good on the whole mess by offering me a free spa pedicure and oxygen gel manicure with no expiration date as long as I text her personally. Overall a great experience and would recommend. Staff could not have been more friendly! Went in for a pedicure ($35). Loved the hot back pillow--actually so much better than a massage chair. Massage while my nails were drying was heavenly. Salon has such a cozy neighborhood vibe. Only minus one star because I was asked if I wanted callous remover without being told that it was $13. I didn't really have callous and the treatment was pretty standard--soMe kind of cream + Saran Wrap + hot towel. It was nice but I just wish they were up front about the cost. I don't get a lot of manicures or pedicures. In fact, this was only my second pedicure. So, I'm not sure what all they are supposed to involve. But here are they things that I liked. 1) The Price was pretty reasonable. 2) The Service was good. The lady that worked with me was funny and complimentary and didn't make me feel weird for being there. Apparently I could be a foot model but I'm sure they tell all the guys that. The only downsides were that it's a relatively small place (that could be a pro or a con for some folks). Stopped in for a pedicure because my usual spot was closed. First off, they don't have massage chairs. During the middle of my pedicure, the technicians swapped, which was just odd and then the new tech informed me that the normal bottle of OPI nail polish I chose was an extra $5 after she already painted four of my toenails!? Cheap mani pedi and that's the only good thing about this place. They spend very little time on your feet and hands, that you only wonder to think how long your manicure and pedicure will actually ask. The entire time I was getting my nails done I felt as if they were rushing to complete my mani pedi and then move on to the next person, assembly line style. They barely scrubbed my feet and my feet still felt as if they needed work after they finished. When my manicurist was giving me a manicure she completely cut me and made me bleed. Just moved to the UES and i think i found my nail spot. So affordable- $21 for a mani and pedi! Heck yes. The lady that did my nail (her name was Young) was very thorough. My nails did not chip for 6 days! That has never happened even when I paid $35 for a mani/pedi. The staff is incredibly nice. From the outside it looks like a hole in the wall but the inside is clean and cozy. Only thing I would note: i was asked if I wanted a top coat- I assumed it came with the mani/pedi but it cost me an additional $2. Not a big deal but she should've said it cost more BUT i think that top coat was why my nails did not chip sooner. Will be going back! read more

Today was my first time to Fashion Nails in search of a Shellac manicure. I had been in before and asked the price which is $29 - I have only seen one salon in the area offer a cheaper price but the quality there is lacking, so I think the extra few dollars here is definitely worth it. I didn't have an appointment today (Saturday) but lucky for me I only had to wait 15 minutes for Michelle, the owner, to do my manicure. I would definitely recommend making an appointment here though, especially on the weekends as they have so many regulars! While I waited I picked out my color (not the largest selection for the Shellac but all of the basics). Michelle did a great job on my nails - she is very detailed and even though they were incredibly busy she didn't rush which I really appreciate. I am really happy with the end product and I hope it lasts (a Shellac manicure if done really well will last me up to 3 weeks, so I will try to provide an update on how this one worked out). If you are looking for a no frills nail salon with great prices, clean and really good service (you have to be prepared to wait if you come at a busy time and don't have an appointment) then I recommend this as one of the best in the area. They take credit card but only accept cash tips!! read more

I ran in for a mani pedi around 7:30 PM and the staff was great. They did not rush me and insisted I stay the extra ten minutes (even though they were closed) to dry my nails. They did a great job with my foot massage as well, bonus points for being very reasonable - 22 for a mani and pedi ! The only reason I am not giving it five stars is because the space is cramped and they don't have those big comfy pedicure chairs. Instead, they have a bench that is really narrow and uncomfortable. It's $22 for a great mani/pedi so I can't not be a fan. That said, make an appointment. When I went, they weren't taking anyone without one. I had one and I still had to wait 20 minutes. They are pretty slow, so be prepared to be there a while. Also, their credit card machine was broken, which was frustrating, so come prepared - but they do take personal checks. All in all, the annoying hour and twenty minutes I spent there was well worth it for a great cheap mani/pedi and the people are very nice. read more

This place is a little hole in the wall on east 77th, right off of 1st Ave. Monday - Wednesday, there is a mani/pedi deal for $21. I don't think that can be beat on the UES! I was very disappointed with my experience here. The staff was very friendly, but my pedicure and GEL manicure chipped in 2 days. I had to ask them to fix it at first, because they were done quickly and the top coat did not cover the whole nail. Then after two days they chipped. The polish looks very thin and poorly done. Good: - cheap - decent mani-pedi - nice staff - close to my apartment (always a huge plus) Not so good: - really small - awkward front door area, nowhere to really stand or wait - the service can sometimes be REALLY slow. I've always made an appointment, and each time I've still had to wait 15-20 min past my appointment time to actually get seated. Overall, you can't really go wrong. They will make your nails look nice for probably much cheaper than you can find anywhere else in the area. As far as I know, it's sanitary. I personally go here because it's a thirty second walk from my apartment, so that makes pedis easy if I'd rather dry them in the comfort of my home.. but if I didn't live nearby or if I was in a bigger hurry, I'd probably have no problem going somewhere else. read more

They're customer service is fantastic ! Angela went up and beyond when I realized I pick the wrong color and bared with me until I finally figured out which color I wanted. Always smiling. Even after I made the mistake of smudging my nails, she was right there ready to fix it. Once I was finished drying she even helped me with my babies stroller down the stairs. I was completely comfortable the whole time and the music was low and relaxing. They took their time making sure I got absolutely the best experience. I will be coming back! read more

TERRIBLE PLACE!! I do not recommend coming here. First of all the lady who did my acrylic nails did not know what she was doing AT ALL! I showed her a picture of how I wanted my nails which was coffin and she didn't even seem so confident and i always get this shape and I NEVER have an issue anywhere else. She also charged me 10 dollars extra when I normally pay like 4-5 dollars for that anywhere else but you know what I'm thinking it's more expensive because it'll be a good job. Absolutely not. I was wrong. I was extremely dissatisfied with how she she my nails. All my nails were a completely different shape and barely looked like coffin. I asked her to fix it multiple times and she barely fixed it. I was so upset because now it's not even a whole week with them on and two of them broke off and two more are in the process of breaking off. It's ridiculous for the amount I paid and for the shitty service I got. I am never coming back here and I'm so mad I even wasted money here. Please don't waste your time and money!!!!!! Now I'm going to have to go somewhere else to get a new set of nails and not even a week of having them on!!!!! BY THE WAY in the newer pictures of my nails broken off as u can see I had fixed it my self at home. I fixed it in like 5 mins with a nail file something she could not do. As a licensed nail technician I would assume you can file down a nail to a specific shape. It's not that hard. If I can do it she can do it too. I come from the Midwest where manicures are cheap and uneventful. When I moved to New York City, the salons were nicer and more expensive and, in effect, more intimidating. I moved here a year ago and my visit to Fashion Nails was the first time I worked up the nerve to get my nails done. The salon is small and quiet, and the staff seemed very nice. I had no reservation, so it was quite a wait, but I was okay with it. When it was my turn, I asked for a pedicure and a gel manicure. The pedicure was done quickly and hastily and she filed my nails into a strange concave shape. The manicure was also done in a haste, and for "no chip" nails, they should probably have remained intact for longer than the ten minutes that they did. The woman who was doing my nails (Kim, I think her name was) kept making clicking sounds with her mouth and clipping my cuticles so close to the skin that she made me bleed. To remedy this injustice, she put nail polish remover on the bloody areas (needless to say, it hurt like hell.) Later she gave me a two minute massage which was very good. I hope I did not get charged, because I didn't request it. Unhappy with my nails, I reluctantly went to pay and the manicurist said "forty seven dollars." This surprised me because I chose this salon based on its reputation for being the cheapest, and a couple blocks over I saw a salon that would have charged $35 for the same treatment. I paid with debit card, and I saw the lady charge me $48. It was a very bad day, and I had wanted to relax, not bargain, so I left with sad bloody fingers and a feeling of having been robbed. read more

I've been coming here for years and send all my friends and family here. Although they're known as no-frills, they have some spa pedis that are awesome! Margarita's been doing my mani pedis for years and I can't imagine going anywhere else - I have ingrowns and since I'm on my feet all day a good pedicure means as much to me, if not more so, as a good massage! They're super accommodating but they do get really busy so make an appointment ahead of time if you're on a tight schedule! read more

They have somewhat limited colors, oddly all the new ones though, and the clients are older for sure, I was literally the only person on under 50 in the place, everyone was a "regular" and most people had appointments, so you might want to look into that as well. I stumbled upon Fashion Nails on my way to get my hair cut at the salon next door. The owner is very nice and friendly... she watches over her staff but not in an obnoxious distrusting way. I particularly loved that the staff actually talks to customers and not each other. The other reviews are correct in that's its not the fanciest but it's clean and do a good job. Great prices and good work. Got a mani/pedi for $22, my manicure lasted a week which is unheard of for me, and my pedicure lasted over two weeks. I have only been during the week and I have never had to wait but I imagine the weekends are a different story. Definitely recommend trying this place out! read more
