I have been coming here for years as one of my Go To nail salons, and the new renovations and changes have made it a much improved, great spot: - Huge selection of Essie and Opi polishes lining the walls with every shade imaginable from natural tones to black - Great massaging chairs for pedis - Friendly staff - Solid, quality manicures and pedicures. - Clean - Contemporary chairs and Drying equipment Bonus: last visit I was in a rush and had the mani and pedi at the same time. Not only convenient but both women were able to polish well even as the massaging chair shook my fingers and toes about. Now a neighborhood staple for me! I came in for a pedi ($22) and Jessica took care of me. She took her time to clean my.cuticles, and had a great amount of pressure when massaging in lotion. Nothing felt rushed the Friday evening I went in. She even placed some paraffin wax for my heels (which I saw others doing for patrons as well). For $22 o feel the pedi is well worth it and I can't wait to return. 10 visits and on the 11th, your mani is free! read more

Best nail spa in my area! The staff is great, very clean and professional. New owner renewed the entire place, everything looks brand new. The prices are unbeatable, $27 for a mani-pedi is unheard off in this area. Gel manicure for $30! any other nail salon charges at least $40 for gel manicures. You can choose shellac, opi and essie gel polishes. I highly recommend it. read more

I live around the block from this place and typically go to another salon around the corner, but I decided to try it out today for a manicure & pedicure. The pedicure was fine. When I sat down at the manicure station, however, there was a cockroach sitting on top of the table. The woman doing my nails and the owner quickly flicked it to the floor and sanitized the stating. I don't know why I didn't leave right then and there, but I did sit down. My manicure went fine until I felt something crawling up my leg and looked down to see the cockroach on my knee. I jumped up, and the owner came over, and did the same thing as before: sanitized the station and motioned for me to sit down again. No apology. No acknowledgement that this wasn't totally normal. Seriously?! At this point I was halfway through my nails being done, so I asked if I could move to another station to just finish the job and get out. I moved across the salon, and as soon as I sat down the woman asked me to pay before she painted my nails. No offer for any kind of discount or apology. I had to argue with the owner before she agreed to give me the manicure for free - I did pay for the pedicure. I still didn't receive any apology or admission that they'd seriously screwed up. I am begrudgingly giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because my nails did come out wonderful. Cockroach and all. read more

Good color selection, but sloppy, rushed manicure. Nail technician either couldn't see what she was doing, or just didn't care! She just rushed through haphazardly without putting polish on the entire nail (or even the majority of it). The filing job was also crappy - jagged, unevenly shaped nails. Thanks. I stopped in after looking around at a few salons, all with the same gel product I was looking for. Polaris has the cheapest price, and offered to do a gel french for $37 which was ten dollars less than the other salons for just one solid color. Patricia was my manicurist, she paid such attention to detail, the precision she used while shaping, and painting was amazing. She consulted with me as to what kind of french pattern I wanted, and gave a great neck/hand massage. I'll update in two weeks to see how my nails held up, as I just got them done this morning. Overall, I was pleased with the experience, and will be going back! **Update** I went back today, three weeks later, and got the same service. Again, precision to detail, very accommodating, good prices. They even noticed I had a bit of back pain, and rolled up a few of their hot towels in another towel, and placed it between my back and chair. I was ready to leave after I had my manicure, but so many ladies had come in and gotten 10 or 20 minute back massages, that I was jealous. Definitely worth every penny! This salon is very convenient to where I stay in New York. I always find it to be bright and clean, very little wait time, and the staff is very friendly. Jenny did my mani/pedi tonight and she was wonderful. She took her time on every aspect of the job at hand from cuticles, to massaging, to polish. I didn't feel pressured to tip but certainly wanted to. Everyone offers to help you with your shoes and coat. Very pleased! read more

This is my weekly nail spa. I am currently only purchasing manicures here and they are great. They last a week and my nails have gotten so much better. The first time I came in my hands and nails were suffering from the dry cold air and they're better now. I LOVE Polaris Nail Spa. I have lived in the neighborhood a few years now, and two years ago on Valentine's Day, I decided to pop into this salon for a "special occasion" manicure. Well, after one trip to this salon, I was hooked, and, unfortunately for my wallet, I get manicures (and pedicures) a lot more often than just for special occasions....I go there every week or every other week! I love the brief hand massages they give you during the manicures, and the foot massages during the pedicures, but an added bonus is the included shoulder rub you get while your nails are drying! The owners and their employees could not be sweeter and it isn't too long before you and the aestheticans are on a first name basis! My mom is a convert, she gets a manicure here whenever she comes into the city, and even my fiance loves the firm back rubs they give in the massage chairs! I would definitely recommend this place. I went here which has a new name Color Nails & Spa because my old place closed(Kim's). I had a person do a gel manicure on me. I had a broken nail and I needed it to be fixed. I ALWAYS had UV gel to fix and I told her and she put a silk wrap. Needless to say it lasted less than 1 week. I went back to talk to the owner and she said I could come back Saturday and get it fixed. They were busy and she did not take me, she asked me to come back and I could not I said I would come Sunday morning. Sunday I go at 11am and she is not there. I get a waxing and 12 not there. Someone else does the UV gel fix she walks in at 12:33pm. When it comes time for me to go I get charged for the waxing and THE FIX...THAT WAS THEIR FAULT!!! Never have I been charged when it is THEIR fault! So wrong!!! read more

There's nothing too extraordinary about this salon, but they do a good job. It's one of the only $10 manicure places left, which is also great! It's very close to my job, so I run out during lunch sometimes to get a manicure. They're always very courteous and they can usually help me immediately. Been going here for 3 years because I live 2 blocks away. Overall, the place is a bit dingy and they don't make an effort to sanitize properly. The technicians are all very friendly but not very talented. I go because I found a diamond in the rough- Maria. Although she cannot help the dingyness of the salon, she is an excellent nail tech and takes her sweet time, making everything perfect. It is not worth it to go to this salon if you can;'t get an appointment with her. They don't even make an effort to update their color collection frequently. read more

Decent nail salon, I have been several times because their 10 punch card always makes me want to go back so i get the tenth one free. Wouldn't recommend for eye brow waxes, they made me break out a little. Decent manicure and pedicure and they're really nice and helpful but always try to up-sell me a massage, which I always refuse.
