This is a relaxing and calming nail spa. While there is a television, the volume was very low and did not drown out the waterfall on the wall. Spa music played softly. It is filled with plants and divided into several service areas allowing for some privacy while getting a manicure or pedicure. Waxing room is totally private behind a closed door. I called ahead and was told there was no wait and there wasn't. I started with a basic pedi and then decided to upgrade to gel for $15 since it will last so much longer, dry faster, and I don't have pedicures very frequently. Spring is here! The staff is diverse and my pedicurist was from Mexico originally and engaged in pleasant conversation with me. She was careful and detailed with her work. I would ask for her again. Extremely disappointed. I only got a manicure because my daughter was getting a pedicure. According to their website, a basic manicure is $25, but I was charged $40 for an "Upgrade Manicure" that I never requested. I specifically asked for regular polish, not gel, and my nails were done with regular polish. When I questioned the charge, they offered to redo them with gel instead of correcting the bill. Before I even left the salon, my polish smudged. Instead of removing the polish from that nail and repainting it properly, they simply patched the damaged spot. Now it looks like a chunk of polish is missing. My daughter's pedicure was also overcharged compared to the prices advertised on their website. During her pedicure, the technician hurt her multiple times while trimming her nails, and one toenail was cut so short that it's already digging into her skin and will likely become an ingrown toenail. I even left a tip before realizing I had been charged for a service I never requested or received. When I brought it to their attention, they offered to redo my nails with gel instead of correcting the charge, and they never offered a refund. Save your money and go somewhere else. Made my first appointment here (although friends said their prices change based on your attire or what they think they can charge you) and I will not be going back. I waited a long time just to have a rush job performed. My gel polish was literally destroyed a few hours later when I washed my hands. The paint bubbled between the first and second layers. I returned to the store the following day to speak to the owner. He asked me to come back in an hour and explained he hadn't let them cure properly between coats. Even though he confirmed my suspicions of a rush job- I returned in the hour because I start a new job on Monday and wanted the manicure I'd paid for. I returned after the hour then waited 30 minutes on I returned. Another client entered and had the same issue with her pedicure. They took her back ahead of me and I continued to wait. They kept taking other clients ahead of me. Finally I asked how long and they said 5 minutes. 15 minutes later-- I got up and left. No one said anything until I got into my Jaguar car---- THEN they came out to try to make it up to me. No thanks- I understand what type of business you're running here. I'll go elsewhere. read more

I really like Fashion Nails. I came here about a year ago after having one bad experience too many at another local nail salon. I was uncertain what I would find, and frankly not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised... I only get pedicures here and my experiences have been consistently good. The nail techs are friendly and efficient. The chairs are new, comfortable, have great massage options, and cup holders! There is a professional menu with all of their services (manis, pedis, facials), descriptions of each service, and descriptions of each of their products. It's very professional. A few months ago they switched to a high-end all natural product line for their nail services, but their service prices remained the same. It has been wonderful to have good products used on me instead of the cheap par for the course lotions most nail salons use. Their regular nail color selection is small and a little repetitive, but I think it is that way everywhere since Shellac and gel nail polish has become the norm. Their gel color selection IS extensive, in comparison. I guess you can always opt to bring your own color if you wanted. They don't have wine but they do offer bottled water and a few soft drinks. My boyfriends family and I went 2 days ago and my ring finger and index finger still hurts . Yes , I have gotten my nails done plenty of times , it was the girl that ruined it . For one , I waited an half hour to get a FILL IN !! When ppl were just walking in ( also getting fill ins ) and sitting down and getting started . At this point i'm mad and ready to go home . So i finally sat down and the girl got started . I showed her my inspo and she said she can do it . #1 flag , she tore off my nail without saying sorry or anything and that's why my nail is hurting and #2 flag , the lines on the side of my nails are uneven , crooked , ugly , every name in the book . she did an awful job and I regret going there . i LOVED Fashion nails , but now i'm sticking to Pretty nails . Coincidence? Had a mani and the technician cut me. 7 days later I ended up at the ER to have my finger lanced. The next day I always admitted to the hospital for three days for cellulitis/staph infection in my blood stream. Had to have x-rays done bc the surgeon thought the infection my have entered the bone and joints. Thankfully that wasn't the case. Had numerous labs done every day, 4IVs bc my veins collapsed due to the antibiotics I was on. Make sure the tools used are sterile before they use them on you!! Super upset. DONT GO HERE. First of all they took forever and a day to do a manicure. When I went to check out she asked me out loud what tip I was going to leave.... something I feel like you don't do. Then proceeded to yell what I was tipping across the salon to the nail tech. My nails lasted 3 DAYS... I spent $60 at this nail salon for 3 DAYS!!!!!!! I was so upset. 1. This is the best place in this pathetic little town. If you can go to Raleigh you can find good places all over the place. 2. Like any other salon, some of the techs are really good, some are pretty bad. 3. They dont commit to appointments so dont bother. The woman next to me that had a four oclock appointment didnt get seen until 430- he had just gotten started on someone else when she walked in at 355. 4. This is a personal pet peeve- the two girls that walked in after me were seated before me, even after i asked how long the wait would be. Perhaps they stereotyped me and them as well, and wanted to make sure they helped the two white girls first. I have been coming here for Nina to do my nails for over a year. Nina & Richard are the owners and both do awesome nails gel & acrylic. Prices are comparable to other salons in the area and I am always pleased with the results. They do a thinner coat so nails look more natural and will redo if not perfect. Pedicures are average (price & quality) but they have new chairs and equipment. Also offer beverages (non-alcoholic). Just opened a new addition to accommodate more patrons. read more

Had thee worst manicure ever here this past week. Gel popped off 3 days later. The manicure was just horrible. Didn't remove my cuticles everything was rushed and including dirty tools and the woman looked a mess. I went to this place today around 3pm. The person I had did not speak much English which I kind of expected. The pedicure was ok, she didn't really remove the callous from my feet that well. Besides that it was decent pedicure. I got a gel manicure and it was the worst I've ever received. The gel polish wrinkled as it was drying...the lady tried to tell me it was normal for polish to not be smooth. 4 hours later the polish is already pealing off. I have two pet peeves when it comes to nail salons: when I can tell they are rushing through my manicure/pedicure/whatever service and when they ask me more than once if I want gel polish (I hate gel polish, it's horrible for your nails). I went with my mom and grandmother as a Mother's Day treat for them and all three of our manicures were terrible. They rushed through them and did a very sloppy job. The girl who did my mom's nails skipped the lotion/massage part altogether and her polish looked like a 5 year old did it. And they asked at least 5 times if we wanted gel polish.
