While I have a few quartz watches, most are automatics and they always need servicing. I enjoy having a watch shop outside of your generic mall variety where the salesperson has NO product or watch knowledge. This repair shop has knowledgeable staff at a very small location. Grubs ~

The customer services is terrible and the owner is extremely rude. Whether you are seeking to sell or purchase I would highly recommend doing your research before going to these people and find yourself another establishment not associated with this group. I understand that this type of business deals with many types of people but for someone to rudely treat all of their clientele as if they are of a lower nature is absolutely ridiculous...I must respond to Jennifer S by saying....WOW you sound like an employee or "owner" and not a legitimate reviewer. I am not the women who came to buy a ring nor have I ever personally utilized a pawn shop to sell, trade or borrow .... I was looking to spend money "Where is your head at Dude" Your follow-up statement just proves the point of my review. You are assuming that just because I write a negative review describing what I consider a lack of customer service skills and basic manners that I should now be stereo-typed alongside what this shop considers their seedier clientele. I only wish I had read some of these reviews before I went there myself. I brought in my deceased father-in-law's Rolex that he left to my son. Our plan was to give it to him at his college graduation. The watch had sat in its box for 10 years and I paid Vic $425 to service the watch. He said he would take it apart, clean it, and make sure it was running correctly. When picking up the watch, Vic said that it was keeping good time. We gave it to my son and that day when he wore it at graduation he noticed that not only would it stop and start running, but it was running fast--hours per day fast. I was disappointed, but took it back to Vic and told him about the problem. He took it and when I returned one week later, he said he didn't know why it was running fast, that he re-oiled a jewel, and that it was now keeping good time. I drove 30 minutes home, and when I arrived, it was 5 minutes faster than I set it at the shop. Of course, this continued and by the end of the day it was no where near keeping correct time. At this point, I was done with Vic and Gold N'times. I took the watch to a recommended shop and the owner called me the next day and described a hairspring problem that was causing the watch to run fast. Additionally, he showed me the internals of the watch and how it was obvious to tell that the watch had not been cleaned recently. I could not afford the full service price he quoted me, but he offered to stop with the repairs he had done thus far for $200. I returned to Vic's shop to ask for a refund--and not even a full refund. I was asking for $200 back to settle with the other shop. This would leave him with money for his time and I wouldn't have to be out any additional money to give my son his grandfather's watch that could actually keep time (even though it still hadn't been fully cleaned or serviced). I explained my side to Vic, that I had paid him for a watch service that left me with a watch that did not tell time and I described the refund that I felt was fair. He immediately told me "I can't help you with that" and he was shocked that I would have even come back to him to ask for any kind of a refund. He actually started ignoring me as I tried to discuss this with him--looking at a magazine on his display case and even walking into his work area as he continued to tell me that he couldn't help me. Even after I confronted him about having clearly seen that the watch had not even been cleaned, he continued to tell me that he could not help me and even told me that I should just pay the $200 to the other shop and be happy that I had a working watch. And in a particularly pathetic bit of sarcasm, he actually suggested that I sell the watch if the money was so important to me. Needless to say, I left without any kind of refund. Honestly, this entire interaction made me more sad than angry--sad to see a business owner not only do such shoddy work and pass it off as professional, but to actually be willing treat people with such dismissive apathy.

If you have any item, whether it is a piece of jewelry or timepiece that you care for, DO NOT take it to this establishment. I would not even take costume jewelry to this guy. HE SIMPLY DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE'S DOING. I purchased an expensive watch that only needed to be sized. After taking the band of my watch apart and after working on it for 20 minutes, he became flustered, handed it back to me in pieces and asked me to work on it myself. After, I insisted that he return the watch to me in the condition he received it, his response was "I will have to charge you for that?". WHAT!!! Are you serious?, I asked. I'm gonna make a long story short. The police department was called by me and when the officer showed up the officer quickly determined that this jewelry repair man was under the influence of alcohol. The repairman admitted to the officer that he had a couple of glasses of wine. The officer stated, "you had more than a couple of glasses of wine, I've been doing this for over 30 years". My expensive luxury watch is now in pieces and will be taken to a reputable jeweler. Do not patronize this hack shop. This guy is a jewelry repair quack.
