Delicious fun authentic Bavarian cuisine and this is coming from someone that lived in Germany as a kid. Big menu, great for groups and families. Good food. Really big menu with lots of options. No photos so be sure to ask the server if you don't know what something is. They're pretty friendly and we went with a group of regulars so it was a riotously good time. Salad - average, not much to write home about. Spezi rum cocktail - Spezi is a German orange cola soda. Yummy! Rainbow trout - Pan fried for a good crisp edge but still buttery and juicy and oh so good. Very flavorful fish and a very generous portion, they gave me 2 filets which is kind of crazy. The rice is also very delicious. Spaeztl - served with butter and brown gravy as a side. They also have an entree version with cheese but I liked the simplicity of this version. Nice depth to the gravy and good texture on the noodles with a bit of springy bite. Not my favorite but decent. Chocolate dessert wine - a shot glass of not too sweet chocolate dessert wine that made me want to get more into dessert wine. Bread pudding - some kind of bread pudding dessert that was enormous and creamy and delicious and best shared with a few people after the giant meal we all had. read more

This place gets busy! Be aware when you visit. We chose a quieter time Sunday dinner. They have plenty of parking in their dirt lot in the front. Inside you are met with German beer garden vibes. You smell their locally brewed beer and see the big wood tables. They have big portions. Which made it great for leftovers since everything we tried was delicious. The Jabergarden was the only thing that wasn't for us. It is very rich pork meat, and it felt like it needed some acidity. Fun fact: You can get married here. The food was boring and sub-standard. My schnitzel was bland, spätzle was gummy, but the beer was cold and tasty. We had 14 in our group and the only positive was for the pretzel and the beer. Not only did I never think I was back in Munich, but I wonder if anyone in the kitchen has ever been to Germany. Service was excellent, but it can't compensate for the dull food. First, the staff are wonderful! So nice and helpful! Second, the food wasn't good at all. I chose the buffet for $37.96 plus 20% tip, to try a little of everything. The lettuce was brown, pork schnitzel hard and cold, the sausage just yucky. The green beans were had a freezing taste. Then I tried desserts for extra $5. This had been sitting out all day and tasted bad. The restaurant definitely feels like an authentic German pub and the uniforms the ladies wear is so cute! After having dined there on different occasions, here is my assessment from a German's point of view. (Disclaimer: we haven't visited this establishment in a few years due to cost vs quality). This is a summary of the dishes/items we have sampled: Pros: 1. The Obatzter - give me a tub of that!! This is literally the only item I would order, pick up, and consume at home. 2. The sausages were pretty good, but they don't make them in house (that's what the waitress told us). 3. The Sauerkraut is "almost" like meine Mama used to make it. 4. The Ungarische Kesselgulasch is a solid 3 out of 5. 5. The bread was ok if you haven't had German bread in a long while and don't quite remember the actual flavor. Cons: 1. After being blocked on FB (childish much?) for asking them to stop calling it "Wiener Schnitzel" whilst using pork instead of veal (it's a thing), they apparently changed that on their menu, so thanks for that. It still doesn't change the fact that it was dry, underseasoned, and seemingly fried in oil, not butter, judging by the flavor. It almost tasted deep-fried, which would explain the dryness of the meat. Butter instead of oil makes all the difference (DO try this at home). 2. The Rouladen looked pale due to lack of initial searing, and what on earth is that bizarre chopped up "filling"? For reference: mustard, salt and pepper, bacon, onions, and pickles (cornichons), all very much visually identifiable when cutting into the meat (mustard and seasoning less so, since they are flavor components). Also, T.O.U.G.H. 3. There were days when the brown gravy was delectable and then there were days when the only salt it had been exposed to was the salt container sitting next to it. 4. The mashed potatoes were lackluster and unmemorable. 5. The Schweinehaxe, one of (if not) the most expensive item in the menu, was inexcusably overcooked, almost jerky-esque until you made your way to the center. 5. The meat loaf had a very off-putting consistency and it was bland. 6. If you've been to Germany and had Gyros at any Greek restaurant (or Greek Imbiss for that matter), don't bother having it here. It was just sad. Disclaimer: looking at the menu, I don't think they still offer that, so they did us all a favor by taking that off the menu. 7. The Schweinebraten was a fatty mess. My son hated it and he's very much used to German cuisine. In conclusion, too pricey (e.g. $22 for a pork Schnitzel, lol ) for underseasoned, lazy, mediocre food. And please, PLEASE, check your German spelling on your menu! You may contact me if you need help with that. I'd be happy to assist. I truly mean that. But this will be for naught, since constructive criticism doesn't seem to be appreciated. read more

I called at 4:15pm 12/18/25 to ask about the necessity for a reservation. The sleepy-sounding young man who answered told me a reservation was unnecessary for a party of 2 this date and we could be seated when we arrived. My wife and I arrived about 5:30pm and we were informed that without a reservation we could only be seated after 8:15pm, and we were asked if we would like to sit while we wait. I explained this situation to the polite hostess and to the cold, abrupt manager, who was unrelenting in his determination that we would only dine after 8:15pm. No apology for the miscommunication nor the inconvenience. All I received from the manager was a sarcastic wish for a pleasant evening and a merry christmas. Customer Service FAIL. read more

I am very appreciative of the privilege to visit Royal Bavaria. Prior to visiting, I would pass often wonder what the food is like. I even tried two times prior to this visit and each time it was decently filled with customers and I wasn't in the mood to be around many people. This go round there were more people, but I decided to stay anyway. I am allergic to seafood and nuts and live to write the review. Great sign! I ordered a bread basket, the Spätzle in Käse-rahm Sauce with a side order of brussels sprouts, and Topfenstrudl mit Vanile Sauce per my server's Katlyn's suggestion. My favorite part of the meal was the brussels sprouts, but the best part of my experience was receiving great service from Katlyn, the great conversation with Sean, the manager, and praising the great accordion player throughout my time there. Wife and I ate here again last night for our anniversary dinner. Great as always. Andy runs a terrific restaurant. She had her favorite (can't spell the German name but it's known as the beef roll) and was excellent as always. For the first time I tried the veal and it was delicious. Yick. Unhealthy and tasteless. The food is a great big pile of sticky, gross tastelessness with occasional sharp, too tart flavors. I lived in Berlin for five years, and know great German food.This isn't great German food. The noodles are too sticky and taste like a bland pile of gluten, and thank god I asked for a piece of chicken with it to get a bit of protein. But the chicken was rubbery and had this weird aftertaste. My husband got pork that was rolled in crumbs and fried. His was so tough that he couldn't eat it. My husband even ordered a gravy to try to redeem his meal, a Hunter's gravy. It has mushrooms and a beef broth base, but there was an unappealing flavor to it. Meanwhile , the German potato salad was not tart enough, so the food that was supposed to be tart was too tart, and everything else was basically tasteless. I don't understand why anyone would give this place a good review, except perhaps they haven't tasted German food in Germany. We were very disappointed. And we're not whiners. We're really supportive of independent businesses. But we won't be returning. This was just completely dissatisfying food. There was n flavor that held any appeal at all. We ordered a chocolate layered cake dessert thing. Mushy, bitter. No thanks. We completely wasted our time and money. Sorry to the sweet waitress and floor manager, but you were the sole positive of an incredibly sucky meal. And what's with all of the chipped plates? Gross, gross buffet. We've eaten there for years. This time Five of us ate there. No one liked their food. Not expensive, but if 3/4 of the food isn't cooked good and not edible, it's a waste of time and money. The Pretzel croutons were too hard to bite, Same for the bread too hard to bite. German green beans salad was plain green beans with vinegar. The sauerkraut and red cabbage was flavorless. Rouladen was too tough to cut. Spaetzle was fair, the Brussel sprouts had the funkiest taste like a litter box smells. Carrot salad had no dressing, just shredded plan carrots. Schnitzel was fair. No choice of dressing except cucumber. Cordon Bleu was tasteless. The mustard and the ice tea were good. We drove 53 miles. We won't be back. read more

Royal Bavaria is a German restaurant on Sooner Road in Moore. The ambiance is just like restaurant I have dined at in Germany. Great ambience. Long beer hall type dining tables. The food is delicious and 100% authentic - as are the German beers they brew right there. Huge portions of very tasty food. Make sure to start with a pretzel appetizer. Having lived in Germany for 4 years in the Air Force, this place does NOT disappoint. Recommend: Absolutely Remarkably very well outfitted (inside and outside), decorated authentically and delivers rather astonishingly accurate Germanic meals. Delicious brews, common meals and beautifully sculptured decor makes for a very unique, fun experience located in middle America... Spoke to the Manager who clearly outlined how difficult it is to prepare all the meal ingredients expertly, each day to be able to open up timely beyond lunch time. It shows... Staff are expertly trained, detailed and incredibly hard working running back and forth without delay. Truly a hard working team to say the least. Certainly give this place a try, you won't be, or at least you SHOULDN'T be, disappointed! It was a Tuesday night. We tried their other place Das Boot in Norman, but they were already closed. So, we made it over to Royal Bavaria just in time. Honestly, we were going to order everything to go, because it was so close to closing time. Our server made us feel welcome, so we decided to sit down. When our pretzel came it was so big! They are wonderful paired with a dark lager. Equally impressive was the Jaegersnitzel my husband ordered and the Cordon Bleu I got. So delicious! But we had to take it to go it was so much. This is a destination! You are unlikely to pass it organically on your drive and on a whim pop in. Instead, you hype up your friend or family to meet up and eat delicious food and experience togetherness! The ambience I would say is why you keep coming back. The food is good, traditional Bavarian food (my spouse's grandparents immigrated from there at 9 & 11) but I really want to put emphasis on the vibe. Friday and Saturday they have an accordion player. You start running into the same people. It just feels as if you are with extended family. The place is perfect for large party reservations and parties if you book in advance. And the good thing about reservations is you can do same-day if you call prior to 4:30pm. I have been here a few times and was very excited to go for my birthday. The last time we went you did not have to have a reservation. My family drove from out of town to eat here and we were turned away. There was room in the restaurant and we arrived at opening time. There were only 4 people in my party. The manager said you have to have a reservation to eat here. I will never go back. Be aware, after driving 40 minutes and arriving on a cold post snow/ice period and slushing through the muddy parking lot, we was told by the young be speckled hostess they only serve corporate type parties. They do not accommodate walk ins nor take out or let you sit at the bar to eat. They should update the website but I'm thinking things have changed and owners and chefs are stepping away. The Royal Bavaria is very traditional in setting and reminds us very much of restaurants we visited while in Germany. The place has a great ambiance and is very comfortable. The staff was courteous, attentive and pleasant. We did experience a few issues with the food. Some parts of the meal were very good but other parts were not. We started off with a sausage sampler and it was great. It was cooked well, the sauerkraut was the perfect accompaniment and the mustard had just the right level of spice. The salad with the traditional dressing was very good. Crisp, fresh, colorful and flavorful. However, the main courses were a big let down. I had the cordon bleu and it was not very good! It was dry, had too much breading, I could not taste even a hint of ham or swiss cheese and it was overcooked to the point of being rubbery. It was basically a large roll of pork that been overcooked. It was served with a cranberry sauce which was very good but I need more of it to flavor and to add moisture to the pork roll. My spouse had the rinderroulade. The beef was tender and it did have some flavor but once again it was overcooked and it was difficult to discern any taste of pickle or mustard in the roll. The mashed potatoes served with beef roll were good but they were cold and the gravy was over salted. I believe the issue with both the cordon bleu and the rinderroulade is that they are too big and that taste and depth of flavors within the dishes are being lost because of the cooking time required to ensure the rolls are throughly cooked. It appears to be a toss up between size over flavor and flavor lost. This is not our first trip to Royal Bavaria and we we will go back but will definitely not order either of these dishes. read more

Zack made our night! We had such a blast at Royal Bavaria and a big part of that was our awesome server, Zack! This guy was super friendly from the get-go and made us feel totally comfortable. He knew the menu like the back of his hand and gave us some killer recommendations (that schnitzel was to die for!). Not only was the food amazing, but Zack just made the whole experience better. He was always there when we needed something, like more drinks or extra napkins, but never in an annoying way. Plus, he was super easy to chat with and actually seemed interested in talking to us! Also the atmosphere was amazing! We sat outside and enjoyed a live band. He played some amazing music! Honestly, Zack was the best, and he's a big reason why we'll definitely be back to Royal Bavaria for him - you won't regret it!
