Our server was great- she was so nice to my friend whose birthday it was! She got a lei and a cute birthday drink. The actual drink service was a bit slow. The restaurant is always so cute with the lights and the tiki decor, but the music was so loud I couldn't really hear my friends talk. Visited on a Saturday, and all bartenders were nice and attentive. It was a slow day, and they let us put the large bar TVs on the OSU/Texas Tech game. The drinks are strong! Loved them and great for slow sipping. Their menu is setup from strongest to least strongest drinks and the staff will explain them well. COMPLIMENTARY, dairy-free pineapple Dole whip with a spoon upon taking a seat. It was sooooo good! You can order a boozy version of it too. Food is available via their next door partner, and it's a great menu. You can order from your seat and not have to move. We ordered the huge nachos, which came with fresh not pickled jalepenos, my favorite. We added ground beef on them, and it was A LOT. Very reasonable pricing too. Had an amazing girls night at Flamingo Tiki. The vibe was super fun and relaxed with awesome tiki themed decor that really set the mood. I tried the El Diablo cocktail and it was refreshing with just the right amount of kick. We also shared the cheese fondue which turned out to be a perfect choice and great for sharing. Flamingo Tiki feels like a tropical oasis. You can't miss the bright pink exterior of the building. The interior is a bright, cozy mix of tropical and tiki. Lots of pink and green and happy vibes. There is a TV in the center that plays retro beach-themed shows, which was cool, and the friendly staff all wore floral attire. Also the bar seemed LGBT+ friendly, which my party appreciated. There is a huge rum selection, so I had to try that. I went with a classic Mai tai; it was a tad bit unbalanced but still good and surprisingly potent! The menu has a variety of classic tiki drinks, including frozen options and ones that are served after being lit on fire. The presentation of all the drinks that I saw was fantastic. Stopped in after dinner and the Art Walk for a drink. Ambiance was nice, drinks tropical with a sweet host and comfortable seating outside on the deck. Since we had a party of 6, they had to put together a few tables. Very quick about it. Took drink orders and had them out to us in no time. Everything hit the spot. When we came in, we waited by the sign that said please wait to be seated, made eye contact with the bar staff and waited about 5 minutes until were told to sit anywhere we like, so we sat at the bar. Fifteen minutes passed without anyone even acknowledging us. My husband finally asked for a menu, which the bar tender did provide and review with us. They then ignored us for another 15 minutes. We were ready to leave when a girl cutting oranges asked us if she could give our order to one of the bartenders. We did get our drinks and they were fine - but we sat around for another 30 minutes hoping they would come back so we could get another round. We finally walked over to them to pay - and they couldn't even find our tab. During this whole time, we watched two sets of groups come in, be served and leave. Waited at least 40 minutes for our group to receive drinks. Some drinks were not drinkable, when questioned about the sweet and sour in the drink, the response was "we don't have sweet & sour". Maybe it was a bad showing, but I would not recommend and not come back. Edit: They managed to clear off our table and throw away leftovers within a minute of leaving, but couldn't get us drinks for almost an hour. Delightful respite any time of year but especially on this 100+ degree day. We were warmly greeted by the Polynesian Princess who took care of us with grace, style and the utmost efficiency- and all with good cheer. The drinks here are lovely, made with great accuracy and care. The rum list has some great surprises on it and is one of the more complete ones I've seen recently. Their drink menu feels very geared towards hard liquor & fruity drinks-- some of them are gigantic. I'm a pretty basic drinker when it comes to cocktails and I did struggle a bit to find something that felt in my lane from reading the drink descriptions. I wasn't easily able to tell which drinks I might like to try. The prices of the drinks are a bit steep, so it feels like you really want to commit to whatever you order. I stuck with a canned beer (wish they had draft offerings) and first time in my friends just couldn't find that perfectly delicious cocktail they were hoping for. We went on a Saturday night and were surprised to see the place gets a club vibe at that time. Very loud dance music plays while you're trying to have a conversation. The place is quite popular so if you're going on a Saturday, be sure to check the waitlist. Besides all that, the drinks are great! It almost tasted like a frozen shake. I would recommend not eating a full dinner beforehand like we did -- i almost felt overly stuffed and couldn't finish it completely! The menu is very extensive, we really like how detailed it is. Great for people who don't really know what to drink, you have plenty of choice there. I really like the little information on the classic tiki drinks with the place and date of their first appearance, nice little touch to the menu! An absolute favorite there is the Chief Lapu Lapu, delicious tropical / citrusy flavors. Beware the drink packs a punch though. The Puka Punch and Saturn are close behind among our favorites.
