I try to go to this spot anytime I am in the area. I have been when they have had events and just for dining. There is a bar area and the employees seem polite and welcoming. There are a lot of bars where everyone seems a bit uptight; but staff seemed to work hard at also being pleasant and friendly. I love this Irish pub! I was born in Ireland and recently visited and I'll have to say that Sean Cummings Irish Pub can very well be on the streets of Ireland. The live music every night gives this place a special charm. The food is incredible and the owner Sean Cummings if you haven't already heard, is the the best guy around town! Heard about Sean Cummings Irish Pub from a friend and thought we would check it out. It is in same building that housed Sophabella's a number of years ago. It is also adjoined to Vitios Italian restrauant. We enjoyed a nice dinner and had a lovely evening. The venue is warm, intimate, and cozy. To our surprise, there was live music. A vocalist playing a Harp. She had a nice voice and a big personality. It was a nice addition to the evening. To start, a bread plate was served with a variety of bread. We passed on an appitizer and ordered a couple of beers. For entrees I chose the meet pie and thoroughly enjoyed it. Jan ordered corn beef and cabbage and she loved it. This pub is connected to Vito's. We didn't know about the pub until we arrived for dinner! After dinner we walked over. The vibes are amazing. I love how small and intimate the pub is. This isn't my first review, but I tried a new dish last night - Beef and Guinness for me and my son had a BLT. My husband had his usual bangers and mash, which were perfect. Our service was OUTSTANDING. Since my husband and I ordered a Guinness to celebrate the end of a long week, our son ordered a "fancy chocolate milk" to get in on the fun. Literally, it was just chocolate milk with chocolate sauce in a fancy glass, but the staff went out of their way to make him feel special. Let's talk about the Beef and Guinness: This is comfort food yumminess. I think I'll start putting Guinness in my homemade beef stew as it just added so much depth without tasting like beer. I like colcannon - it is one of my favorite things in their menu, so I happily pay the $1 up charge to sub it for their mashed potatoes. Honestly, I was so full that I took most of it home and it will be my snack today. My son ordered the BLT. We didn't tell him that chips were potato wedges beforehand, so he was pleasantly surprised when they were brought to him. He said the BLT was outstanding and ate every bite. It is a warm and inviting place with lots of character. My friend that does not eat red meat really enjoyed his salmon boxty. The beer and Irish whisky selection is excellent. Friends often ask what new restaurants I've tried. Honestly, there are too many places like Sean's that have been around for a while that I've not tried. Maybe part of it's because I love Vito's, so it's hard to walk in the door and not turn right. At any rate, I decided to correct my oversight last night. I had been planning on getting the fish and chips, but the waiter talked me into their special. I don't remember the actual name of it, but it was essentially ground corned beef on mashed potatoes. It literally hit the spot. It tasted good and went well with my pint of Guinness. It wasn't a WOW! dish, but my appetite was satiated and it just left me with a good feeling and a smile on my face. What I couldn't believe was when I got the check and it was only $10.99! I mean, people spend a lot more going to spas and travel to breathe in fresh Alpine air and don't leave feeling as good as I did. I think everyone on staff, including Sean, checked in on me at various points. There were obviously some regulars there, but they do a great job of not letting someone new feel like a stranger. There was a couple playing guitar and fiddle. The place isn't a bit fancy, but it left you feeling as good as the food itself. I've lived in OKC for almost 5 years now, and had only known of 1 other Irish pub in the metro. I was blown AWAY by the quality of the food here, as well as the pricing (VERY affordable). The atmosphere was very laid back and relaxing, with live music every night (big win). The service has been top TIER the 2 times I've been here, and will definitely be returning for many more times. We ate dinner here because the neighboring restaurant was full and we didn't have a reservation. I have to say, it was pretty disappointing. To start, they give you some soda bread, which I actually liked. My husband and son weren't fans though. I was so stoked to try Shepherd's Pie with beef instead of the normal meats most places put into it. Well, you couldn't even see any actual meat in it at all. It had a sauce made from meat, but there were only a few specs of actual beef in it. So it was basically potatoes, a few veggies, and a tiny bit of sauce, all with no flavor. Incredibly disappointing. I even asked if they forgot to add the meat. The waitress agreed that it didn't look right, but after she asked the cook, they said that's the way it's supposed to be. Meh. They need to update the menu then and put "beef flavored sauce" because there is zero meat to be found. I also ordered the Colecannon because who doesn't want mashed potatoes, cabbage, bacon, and green onions mixed together? Well, this was also a bust. It was 96% potatoes with no flavor, a smidgen of bacon, and some bland boiled cabbage. I can't even recall there actually being green onions. Who knows at this point. Just so disappointing. My husband got the potato soup as an appetizer. I had a taste of it and was pleasantly surprised. It was actually really good! I should've just ordered that myself. I can't recall what he got for his entree, but he wasn't a fan of that either. My son got the burger and thought it was weird. And this boy loves him some burgers. The shining star of the whole meal was the Shirley Temple that my son and I ordered. It was quite delicious and a recommendation of the waitress who puts her own spin on it. We liked it quite a bit. The downside is that they consider this a cocktail, so you don't get free refills. I mean, it's sprite and cherry grenadine with some limes... you get free lemons on the tea... you get free refills of Sprite.... why not just allow refills on a Shirley Temple? I'm curious what they would've done if I asked for a Sprite to drink, then asked for limes and a shot of grenadine. *shrugs* All in all, I don't think we'll be back. The music and drinks were really nice. I'd be willing to try something else for the food, but I'm not sure that I could convince my son and husband. The service here is always amazing... especially the bartenders. The food is delicious every time and the whiskey selection is amazing. The parking lot and the entrance, since it's shared with Vito's next door, is a little chaotic but still worth it. Staff seemed a bit bothered about having to wait on us. Asked for gluten free menu and she said "we don't have one" and then shouted out GF options from reg menu as she walked away to do something else. Food was disappointing but evidence that the potato famine is over. Shepard's pie and fisherman's pie were both 85% mashed potatoes. Potato 'soup' was mostly potato chunks with very little soup. A friend and I decided to check this place out after the owner stood up to the fascist superintendent of public education. This place did not disappoint. First the food DELICIOUS. I had the fish and chips. Friend had the BLT. Drinks were perfect. I had a Gin Thistle which was very refreshing. Once there was an open spot at the bar we scooted up there. We met some really good people and had a fun time full of laughs. I fell in love with the people. A sense of community is very strong in this place. Overall just an ok place. Lovely pub atmosphere! It is decorated with what I assume is personal photos and nice art in a rather quaint and cozy seating area. Unfortunately the folks seated across from us had a member of their party who didn't realize the volume on their voice was "entertaining" the whole place. I had the farmhouse potato cakes and meat pies with mashed potatoes. My husband had fish and chips. My food was fair. The potato cakes were decent. The carrot purée was a nice touch but they lacked seasoning. The meat pies and mash were very hot when they came out. Unfortunately they also lacked seasoning but were not terrible. My husband's fish was overcooked. The last piece of fish crumbled into nothing when he bit into it. We were excited about visiting Sean Cumming's place but didn't leave satisfied. read more

I had no idea this place was here! It used to be farther down on may but moved into this place and one side is a different Italian place, which is awesome. We came here for St patty's day and it did not disappoint! Keep in mind I'm sure this menu is their St Patrick's day menu but their regular menu looks amazing as well! We had a waitlist of course on st Patrick's day but we were able to go around back where there were tents set up with tables and chairs along with a small booth to order food and drinks if preferred. We ordered some Guinness and had a seat till our names were called. We went inside and sat at the bar. The staff is friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs although it was very busy. They were wonderful! We split an appetizer of loaded baked potato chips and dip and it was tasty and different! We split the fish and chips and the Shepards pie. All was delicious! I was worried it would be a bit greasy but it wasn't! Pretty delicious! They had live music which I absolutely loved! People playing instruments and they don't allow amps and such with it being a small place and I can say I LOVED it, it wasn't so loud you lose your voice trying to speak to your neighbor yet we could still hear and enjoy the music! This place is great! Great food, great atmosphere, and amazing staff. This is truly the feel of an Irish pub and the food is on par! I got the bangers and mash and (after adding just a tiny bit of extra salt) it was so yummy and filling. The bangers were fantastic! My husband got the salmon boxty and it didn't disappoint especially the spinach and greens beans; cooked/wilted to perfection. Impressive. Everyone there seemed joyful and like they were having the time of their lives. It's a very lively place with live music but not so noisy that you can't have a convo with the persons at your table. Sean is amazing and is right alongside his staff as he picks up whatever job needs to be done while also checking on his guests. The food & atmosphere was great. The service was slow but not that big of a deal because we were enjoying catching up. The drink I ordered was incorrect & I didn't care for the flavor but chose not to complain since I knew I would likely only have the one. The kicker was when the check was brought to us for $27 my friend and I decided to split the check expecting $13.50 to $14.00 and then a tip on top of that but when she returned our Cards with receipts we had both been charged $22.50 and the totals had been scribbled out and changed. Now if for some reason the server had forgotten to add something in on the check she should have communicated that before charging double the price since she changed the total from $27 to $ $45 without letting us know. When I got home my card was authorized for $27 and needless to say since the service was so lacking I didn't tip. It was so unprofessional to not let us know the total had doubled. So where did the extra $5 come from. She added a tip to herself? I will never go here again despite really liking the atmosphere of the location. This left a really bad taste in my mouth and if she had just communicated her mistake we would have left a tip and understood but you can't just double the ticket after showing it to the guest and not communicate it first. read more

My husband and I have wanted to come to Sean Cummings Irish pub for a long time. One night we had extra time on a date night and we decided to go for it. I'm so glad we did! We walked in and although dimly lit and small, it had a beautiful Irish charm about it. Music was playing and people were talking and laughing. I ordered a tap beer and my husband ordered coffee. We both shared the bread pudding and it was FABULOUS. I wanted to eat the plate. The musicians were awesome, it really made the atmosphere complete. So very talented. This was my first time here and it was loads of fun. I happen to really like Celtic music and on top of that, even though Irish /Celtic music can get raucous, it's not as loud as a rock concert so you can still converse with your friends. They have a vegetarian boxty. Boxty is a traditional Irish potato pancake. As a vegan I couldn't have it, but my vegetarian friends did and seemed to enjoy it. Another friend for the wings and they must have been to die for because she ate them all. They also have these fun beers, which have oxygen bombs in them to make sure they have enough foam.
