This is the only Pawn Shop in New England that I would even STEP FOOT IN. Pawn shops have a bad reputation and usually it is for good reasons. However one day I was a little early for one of my graduate classes at Salve Regina University and the satellite campus used to be around the corner. I went in there and to my surprise all of the staff were professional and extremely helpful! On top of that they weren't annoying and hounding you- they provide you with that perfect balance of help without annoying you! They also have SOMETHING for EVERYONE whether it's a video game system or just video games, iPad's,Louis Vuitton handbags, Guitars/Musical Instruments, Pinball/Pacman Machines, Tiffany & Co. Jewlery, & Movado Watches. Many are high end and would cost thousand if purchase at the retailer and here you only pay a few hundred. They also have check cashing and will cash payroll checks. They provide individuals with loans and will accept 'things' for pawn or to purchase. They will purchase gold or silver as well. People usually associate Pawn Shops with people who have no money but this place is quite the opposite! They are professional, helpful and courteous! Great, clean pawn shop with friendly staff. My first visit inside this place (had given former coworkers rides here to cash pay checks in the past but never went in - 3% fee but if you don't have a bank account - it might be worth it?) The store has lots of items on display for purchase - guitars, a banjo, game systems, tools, tablets, radios, jewelry, etc..some items seemed reasonably priced / others seemed pretty high to me - but im guessing the tag price is more like a jumping off point for negotiation. I came in to sell some old jewelry that I had laying around (10K & 14K..some small diamonds too) for many years and while I didn't expect retail for my pieces - I was able to negotiate a fair price with Todd who waited on me. An extra $150 bucks to spend on my vacation week was a nice bonus! The process was easy - gave him the jewelry - anything costume that got mixed in - I took back. He then weighed the rest and gave his offer. I appreciate that as he weighed and tested items - I asked several questions and he answered them all - putting me at ease. I would certainly consider this store for future needs - they lost one star due to some of the clientele getting loud, making scenes and making me a little uncomfortable - but I honestly expected it to be way worse! And I realize the staff can not control what customers do - and they did do a good job at calming both parties down once they figured out what the issues were. I visit this pawnshop when I need to purchase good quality jewelry for a good price for family members. Every time I go I usually look for Jessica because I trust her and always feel assured by my purchase that I am getting my money worth. She never pressures you...she is not only patience but also informative. The last time I was there I purchased a gold bracelet for my husband for our anniversary which will be in a few days. Best experience ever! I was sent to Scott, one of the owners, to discuss designing an engagement and wedding ring set. He was knowledgeable, flexible and very helpful in finalizing the design. He found the perfect diamonds to make this custom piece and the price was unbelievable. The cost of both rings was less than I had found for just the cost of the main diamond at any of the jewelry stores where I had shopped. I'm giving this place one star because contrary to what their commercials say I don't believe they are the the best around, or even in Pawtucket for that matter. I had pawned some gold and diamond rings there in the past and was not impressed with the amount I was given. It WAS NOT the highest I could of gotten but whatever I took it cause it's not like I was selling them anyway. I noticed when ever I've gone there in the past they always have a couple Louis Vuitton bags on the floor. Not current styles by any means and pretty dark patina on all the leather parts. They were charging some insane amount of around $800 for one bag that I probably could of gotten for $200 on ebay. But whatever I figured they'd be the perfect place to bring my Louis Vuitton bag to sell which is in MUCH better condition and is a actually a style that people want. I emailed some pics to Steve and he said from the looks of it he could offer at least $300. I wouldn't of taken that but figured once I bring it in being that it just recently had the piping replaced at the Louis Vuitton store a few months ago and came with the dust bag they'd prob give me the $400 I wanted... Of course when I got there Steve nor any other manager was there. Some guy looks at the bag and starts saying if its real and blah,blah,blah. Obviously it's real. He then starts looking on ebay for what similar bags have sold for and says oh look this one sold for $250,... Yeah one bag on all of ebay sold for $250 and was also older looking then my bag. Like they're really gonna sell my bag for $250 in their store HAHAHA okay do I look like a sucker? He then says my bag looks really dark patina, which is funny compared what they were trying to pawn off for $800. Whatever. He then calls Steve on his cell and the bottom line is they offer my $200. I said NO and that was that. What a waste of time. Won't be going there ever again. I'm not a fool. read more

I came here on a weekend to cash a check I own a Landscaping company so the check was a significant amount. Unfortunately they couldn't verify the funds because the company's billing department was closed on the weekends. Instead of just telling that to me politely, the guy at the window told me he won't cash it anyway because he thought it was fake! I laughed and walked out! I called chase bank which the check was from and they said they could verify the funds if the pawn store called. I proceeded to call the pawn store to tell them that and they still said no. I just waited until Monday to go to my regular bank which is Citizens. I usually never go to a check cashing place, I was just interested in buying something for the business and needed the money on the weekend. I won't go back they embarrassed me in front of everyone by accusing me of a fraudulent check from a payroll. These people are not educated or certified to do their job and properly spot a fake check. But they have no problem chasing all those government checks lol. Not friendly not the commercial! There was no miscommunication he said I wouldn't cash the check any way I think it's fake! The payroll check was from a contractor company called sms assist there's a website ! This is the best place to get a loan!! I had some trouble paying the interest on a loan that I took out with them a few times and every time they were more than willing to extend the date of payment- no problems or even questions asked!! The associates were always more than helpful and friendly (even when I was late on a payment!). I have talked to two of the owners on different occasions when I either called or visited the store- I had dealt directly with them, which made me feel extremely confident. They send me a reminder a month before a payment is due- which Ive found most pawn broakers DO NOT. Also, you have four months from when you take out the loan to when its due- or you can pay the interest and extend the life of the loan for another four months.The store itself is clean and well stocked will very nice merchandise. I would give Fast Cash a higher rating than 5 stars if that was possible- and this would be the ONLY pawn shop I would recommend! read more
