Had this place bookmarked for a grip and coming to and from Morgantown, I always see the sign for it off exit 10. Problem is - it's not right off exit 10 and by the time I realized that I had to fumble to find directions via device. Located in a little shopping center - with a gas station near the docks of Cheat Lake. Kind of a dark dingy place - WVU colors on the wall and a window with a very lukewarm welcome from the guy working. I must have bothered him ordering ONE pizza. Which was $13. Yikes. Pizza was just pizza - sauce is a little on the sweeter side - and the cheese due to the amount of grease is on the cheaper end of things. I get very nervous about not being able to step into an establishment where I ordered food from but we ordered from here anyway. I get they are trying to be safe because of the pandemic but we couldn't even walk in with masks on to pick up our pizza. So who knows how clean the place is. We have a lot of pizza places in the area but not many pizzerias. I ordered online(for pickup) and they send you an automated text stating your pizza should be ready in 30mins. Well, it was more like an hour but that was okay with me. It is a fairly new store with new employees. The employees were overwhelmed but they kept their cool and stayed professional and friendly. It was nice to see. Kudos to management. The pizza was very good by the way. I purchased the Deluxe and the toppings were plentiful. Delicious pizza, worth waiting for. This little spot was a great stop on our road trip! The pizza was delicious and steaming, the fillings in the calzone were generous and the honey topping was surprisingly yummy. This is my 1st visit to Fat Angelo's Pizza with my son and my husband who was there 20 years ago(but not the same name). We all enjoyed the large pizza with half pepperoni and Hawaiian. I love the Hawaiian pizza and is fresh and delicious even my 2.5 years son ate the pizza usually he won't eat it because the tomatoes but this time he ate. The ambience is quiet and child friendly as my son can walk around because is not overcrowded or anything fragile left on the tables that he might break. This is also my 1st experience eating with a pizza stand. I really like dining there. I will definitely go again. read more

Yummy stromboli and pizza. But these guys will screw up your order more often than not. Just yesterday I ordered two pizzas and a Stromboli deluxe online. I received text confirmations and email. I also had a text confirmation from my bank at the charge at gone through .I waited 40 mins to go pick it up. When I got there i called so they could bring it out to me in the parking lot. they told me that they did not have any record of my order. I confirmed it was the right store, and told them I had multiple confirmations via text and email. The guy looked several times and ultimately they did not have the order. So I had to reorder the whole thing over the phone and it took another 90 minutes to get my order. During the whole Fiasco there was not one apology from the representatives of the restaurant. They did not answer the phone for my wife ,she called 5 times, an my friend called 4 times, making us wonder if their even open under these COVID conditions, so I drove to the location, couldn't get in the place , but cars stacked up in the parking lot an witnessed a guy bringing food to cars so I asked why they did not answer a total of 9 calls an really never got a solid answer, he did take my order, but then I regretted ordering after hearing how they messed up a food order in a car next to us, they forgot a sub someone ordered an told them 25 minutes to fix that mistake, he said forget that I just waited 45 minutes but I was still hoping since our food was all deep fried an a salad I would not experience this fate but We waited an waited forever to get our food ,watching a circus unfold in the parking lot ,searching for people that wasn't here yet carriing their food around the parking lot to cars asking for someone not here. Very disappointed. I wanted to like this place so bad. Good pizza is hard to find, especially in West Virginia. This is food-service pizza. What I mean is that the crust is pre-made. I ordered two pizzas last Saturday for lunch two for $19.99 one pepperoni one cheese. The crusts are identical. Perfectly round perfectly flat and if you turn them over they are perfectly docked (holes in the bottom). The sauce is nothing special, cheese nothing special I will give a little credit to some good pepperoni but I won't be returning. Cheat Lake could do so much better. As for the coal-fired part? We stopped for some subs and wings on a road trip and I was quite underwhelmed. There were no customers and it was obviously down time. All of the ketchup bottles were near empty, the decor has dust on it, and there cups for water but no water dispenser. The wings were good, but we were charged $9 instead of $6 for them and the Italian sub was disappointing. We order delivery from Fat Angelia's pretty often. While on our way home from Deep Creek, MD, I called in a take out order of two salads and a large pepperoni pizza. I was told 35-40 minutes, which is perfect because it takes that long to get back from the lake. I arrived at the restaurant and was told my pizza wasn't ready. We proceeded to wait another 40 minutes. After waiting all that time, I asked how much longer it would be because I was going to take my kids home and come back. Turns out my pizza was sitting on top of the oven. They tried to give me a barely warm pizza. I demanded to be made a new one (which they did). Staff is rude everytime my family and I have come in and I'm so fed up I'm now writing this review. A standard cheese pizza never comes out the same when we order it. Last time it was delivered to the house, the cheese and sauce was completely off of the pie like it had been dropped or placed on its side. I called asking for a refund and the manager would not get on the phone with me even though I could hear him in the background telling the person on the phone to take a message, while knowing the situation. In my opinion, Fat Angelo's seems like the premium pizza place in Cheat Lake, but I have found their service and food preparation less than desirable. I ordered buffalo wings to go. To me, the workers were unapproachable and miserable in appearance. When I got home with my order, they were not done on the inside and there was a hair wrapped around a wing. I called to speak to a manager, but no one was available. The person who took my complaint did apologize but made no offer to rectify it...he also asked "Was it a long hair?" Hmm...does it matter? I read the previous review of Fat Angelos and was really hesitant to order from there. Ordered anyway since it was the only pizza joint on the Cheat Lake side and was pleasantly surprised. Don't let the inside fool you, these guys know how to make their pizza. Fresh minced garlic, green peppers, and pepperoni ready in 15 minutes. It was delicious and not overly greasy. Good food, but be prepared to WAIT! I used to order delivery from here 2-3 times a week, but delivery times consistently topped 2 hours and they frequently forget the ancelaries (soda etc). The delivery times weren't working for me and I don't live that far away so I figured I'll just cut out the middle man and pick up. When you call, you get put on hold every time, which is ok, I get it, but I usually hang up after about 3 minutes of hearing the waitress take counter orders and ring people out in the background. If you are lucky enough to have them take your order in a timely fashion you'll be given a 30-45 minute pick up time. Ok, no problem, until you arrive at the agreed upon time to find out they haven't started your order yet. The seating area usually has several angry people in the same situation. So yes, the food is good here, which is why I have it 2 stars, but it's almost not worth the aggravation. read more
