Extremely Disappointed -- $95,000 Truck and Unacceptable Repair Quality!…read more If I could give this body shop zero stars, I would. We purchased our truck brand new from Murdock Chevrolet in Woods Cross for approximately $95,000. We originally brought the truck to the dealership for a manufacturer-related issue that was not caused by us. We trusted the dealership to take care of the problem and return our brand-new vehicle to us in the same condition it was in when we dropped it off. Unfortunately, the truck was returned to us with new damage that was not there when we brought it in, including scratches to the paint and bumper. We were understandably very disappointed. The dealership then sent the truck to Higgins Body Shop in North Salt Lake for the repairs. Unfortunately, our experience with the body shop has been equally disappointing. After the first repair, we noticed visible imperfections in the paint, including dirt or debris beneath the clear coat that created an appearance similar to "fish eyes". We brought these concerns to the dealership, and the truck was sent back to the body shop for additional work. When we inspected it after the second repair, we found additional issues, including nicks and marks on the rear bumper and very noticeable sanding marks throughout the quarter panel from the repainting process. For a brand-new, $95,000 truck, this level of workmanship is simply not acceptable. We should not have to repeatedly point out obvious flaws and return a brand-new vehicle multiple times to correct substandard repairs. We are currently waiting to see how this situation will be resolved. We sincerely hope the dealership and body shop take our concerns seriously and make this right. At this point, we have to ask: Maybe it is time for Murdock Chevrolet to consider finding a different, more professional body shop that can provide the level of quality and attention to detail that customers should expect--especially when repairing brand-new, high-value vehicles. If a body shop is going to handle repairs on new, high-value vehicles, customers should be able to expect professional workmanship, attention to detail, and a finished product that meets a reasonable standard of quality. Based on our experience so far, Higgins Body Shop has not met that standard. We would strongly encourage anyone considering having a newer or high-value vehicle repaired here to carefully inspect the work before accepting the vehicle.
