Loooved this place. My husband and I stopped here on the way to NOLA. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and walked through how to order as it was soulfood Sunday (they have their regular menu the rest of the week). The entire staff took COVID safety seriously, and made sure people were spaced out. Super friendly and nice folks who you could tell know good food and are excited to have you try it. I ordered the baked salmon with green beans and Mac n cheese, and my husband ordered the fried chicken, greens, and Mac as well. Everything was hot and flavorful. We stopped at Fat Boyzzz on our way back home to New Orleans. The reviews were good so we decided to give it a try. Right when we walked in, we were greeted immediately by our server, who was super friendly. I ordered the BBQ Brisket Baked Potato and my husband order the Ribeye Philly Cheesesteak. The baked potato was HUGE to say the least and came out piping hot. Husband said the philly cheesesteak was among the top 3 he's ever had. The potato is definitely enough for two or to have at a later meal. Since we were on the road, we took the rest to go and ate it a few hours later, and it was still as tasty as it was when it came out the kitchen. Well, as everyone else has said, this place is a winner! Not fancy but clean and neat as a pin, super helpful and friendly waitstaff, and the food was great. My husband and I shared a seafood platter (2 fried shrimp, 2 frog legs, 2 boudin balls, 2 fried oysters, 2 fillets and 2 hush puppies, plus 2 sides) and it was all we could eat Piping hot and obviously freshly prepared, We loved it all. Hadn't ordered in a few months so we picked up lunch. Prices are much higher that a few months ago ( I get increased prices everywhere but $20 for 3 pieces of fried cat fish and 2 sides?) Philly cheese steak was so soggy it couldn't be eaten as a sub and had to be cut up, and even then only half rates cause who likes soggy bread? Fries were soggy as if they had been fried earlier and sat under a heat lamp. Very disappointed in the meals since in the past they had always been spot on. read more

Tried Fat Boyzzz today for the first time with my parents who are from south LA and know real southern food. We were all amazed at how wonderful the food was. We had the burger, chicken fried steak, fried pork chops, fried shrimp and the brisket loaded baked potato. AMAZING! I don't generally comment on service when leaving reviews because that's not that important to me but the ladies working in this restaurant were absolutely some of the sweetest, most helpful, and friendliest hostesses/servers I have ever encountered. We ate here about a month ago. The Ribeye Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was better than the Bacon Cheeseburger on the Jalapeno bun. Both were good though, not the best we have ever had, but both solid. I actually came across this restaurant by reading previous reviews on Yelp. After eating at this restaurant, I definitely thought they deserved a review from me as well. First off, the service is EXCELLENT. You could not ask for better. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. A waitress that wasn't even ours came by and checked on us a couple of times as well. The kitchen staff and other employees of the restaurant will talk to you as well! The menu had plenty of options and the amount of food you get is definitely worth your money! They really put their customers first and you can definitely tell as soon as you walk in the door. The restaurant really doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's very clean and well maintained on the inside. Went here the other day with my two granddaughters and my great grandaughter. My grandaughter and i got loaded baked potatoes with grilled chicken and my other grandaughter and great grandaughter got cheese burgers. All of us loved our food and also got some pies for to go and loved those as well!! In all my 85 years living I've never had such a delicious baked potato until I went to this place. Our family stopped here on a road trip and everybody loved it, even our 9 year old. It may not look like much on the outside, but it is clean, comfortable and welcoming. When we walked in, we were greeted by our server, who was friendly and immediately we felt welcomed. Their southern cooking and large portions pleased this southern girl...AND they served Kool-Aid, or red drink, as we called it when I was a little girl. A delicious burger joint with plenty of atmosphere and charm. Definitely a wonderful place when you want to get out and go somewhere out of the ordinary. They also have delicious Sunday lunch menus.
