A friend recommended and I had to try it. So glad I did. I had the beef sandwich. Fresh bread, crunchy veggies, moist and flavorful beef, and a hefty portion. Definitely want to try their coffees and pastries on the next visit.

    Pork Belly Sandwich

Nut allergy warning: Obviously, avoid the PB&J and probably let them know about any allergies. I thought an affordable, quality sandwich shop didn't exist in the PNW. But when I went to go visit a friend in Mount Vernon, not only did I find a very reasonable one, but they have affordable matcha and coffee to boot? I would be a regular if I lived here, no doubt about it. The pork belly sandwich (5/5): Rich, tender, juicy, the perfect filling amount for lunch. Mochi cream donut (5/5): Take a Boston creme and eliminate the randomness you'd get from a dry pastry dough. Chewy, creamy, somewhat sharable since my sugar tolerance is low but it's not too sweet either. My friend said his beef sandwich was a banger (no photo, he finished it too fast). I was so lucky that they opened recently and I hope they continue this level of quality. Stop by on the drive through. Would recommend.

We kept seeing pictures of this lemon cheesecake cookie all over Facebook and had to give it a try. When we first walked it the space is very open and the gentleman behind the counter greeted us immediately. Not a ton of tables but enough for the people sitting at them to actually enjoy their food. We got our cookie to go and barely made it across the street before diving in. It was so good! The cookie by itself reminds me of a macadamia nut (didn't have nuts) but when you get to the middle it's an awesome lemony cheesecake! Will 100% come back and try some more goodies!

Small, cute little gem in downtown! I was so excited to see they had vegan options ( thank you! ) The vegan choices were Asian Pear Salad, Veggie Sandwich, and Chocolate Tart, & everything was sooo delicious. The staff were super friendly and took the time to explain the menu. The Asian Pear Salad was super refreshing and filling with a great Korean-inspired flavor. I had it with the spicy dressing, and the pear paired perfectly with the heat. (They also offer a pineapple ginger dressing if you prefer something milder.) The chocolate tart was FIRE. I'll definitely be counting the days until I'm back for another one. So happy to finally have a legit yummy vegan option in downtown!

The food was amazing. The service was earnest. I think there was only one person and it was busy. He did great. The space is very clean in design and appearance. The honey ginger lemonade was delightful. I'll be back

Unique place to eat. Sandwiches were good- loved the salad. Had a caramel Frappuccino that was delicious. Took home apple pie oatmeal cookies and enjoyed them very much. Will have to go back to try the donuts as they were out.

This co-op in Skagit is filled with healthy alternatives, fresh produce, and even a juice/coffee/snack bar serving up some delicious bites. I found a number of local products and beers to buy from the grocery side, and a mushroom sandwich. I cannot properly describe the deliciousness of this sandwich - you just had to be there. I also loved that the co-op's second story is filled with the most unique home and gift items you'll find. Everything is sustainable first, and they even have a decent book selection. Couldn't imagine a better place to spend my Saturday, just wish I lived closer so I could visit every weekend.

It's a neat grocery store with fresh build-your-own sandwich options, bakery treats, gifts and trinkets, wines, and a lot more. We ordered sandwiches from the kiosk where it prints a ticket to bring to the counter. You can purchase other items with your sandwich, too. We had ordered two pineapple conchas from the dessert case for a post-lunch dessert. The veggies on the sandwich were so fresh it hit the spot for a light midafternoon meal. There is an upstairs seating area, it's really quiet and private. After we ate our lunch, we looked at some trinkets in the gift shop that's upstairs too. It truly has it all!

Relax - this is a small place with a small staff and even smaller kitchen: If you're in a rush, or the impatient type, this ain't it. But if you like to sit a spell and chat with your people as you enjoy friendly, knowledgeable staff (you're likely to be served by the owners themselves), a craft cocktail, relish a lovely meal, then polish it off with one of Jane's amazing desserts (salted caramel brownie à la mode, anyone?), then we'll see you at The Rex, because we will definitely be back! We were a large group (10) on a busy night and Jane and crew handled us beautifully. Our table enjoyed steak salads, the pork tenderloin, the chicken linguine, cod risotto, clam chowder, a Reuben (huge!), and flank steak. Dessert was outstanding - choose from Lopez Island Creamery ice cream (huge scoops), or one of Jane's scratch-baked treats (pies, key lime bars, brownies, cookies, more). The salted caramel brownie à la mode melted in my mouth. It was excellent, you could taste each component - the fudgy brownie, the creamy caramel, the occasional crunch of salt = 10/10, no notes, don't miss it. Great vibe, loved seeing so many familiar faces coming and going, so happy to have The Rex Bistro in the valley.
