Love their ice cream. One of my favorite ice cream spot whenever I'm in the city. Their ice cream is creamy and sweet. I'm also intrigued to try their alcoholic ice cream next. Service was excellent. We came with a group of people and he was really patient and friendly with us. There is so outdoor seating since there aren't many seats inside.

yummy ice cream spot. i love the unique flavors they offer (pandan & chai- both vegan too!). service is super friendly, they let you sample prior to ordering too. i love the bowl waffle cone, it's served in a cup so if you're a slow eater like me, the ice cream won't get all over you

I went to Fat Cat Creamery in the Stomping Grounds of Houston, which is a great little development and currently the only ice cream spot in that area. Fat Cat Creamery is a woman-owned, Houston-based ice cream company that started in 2011 after the founders couldn't find good craft ice cream in the city. They make small-batch ice cream completely from scratch using Texas whole milk, heavy cream, egg yolks, and locally sourced ingredients, and they also emphasize environmentally friendly, compostable packaging. The ice cream itself is clearly high quality, with unique and well-executed flavors. That said, I am very particular about ice cream texture and prefer a harder, more frozen style that you can really bite into. Fat Cat's ice cream is very soft and melty, which just isn't my personal preference. [ICE CREAM] +Small-Batch Ice Cream By The Scoop for $4.25 - The flavors are good and thoughtfully made, but the texture is very soft and melts quickly. It's not bad ice cream by any means, just not the style I personally enjoy. - 3.5/5 Overall, Fat Cat Creamery is doing something right and clearly has a strong following, especially if you like softer, creamier ice cream. I appreciate their presence in Stomping Grounds and the quality of ingredients, but the texture keeps this from being a favorite for me.

Was sad when the other location closed but this one is in a great little shopping area with a courtyard where you can sit/hang out and there's ample parking (a win in the Heights). I tried a few of the flavors and nothing really stood out to me, felt like they were missing something. I went with Mexican Vanilla which I've had before and knew to be good. Shop is very narrow and has a couple tables inside (very cold) so I'd just sit outside and not be cramped.

Fyi they did move locations! So this is the newest location. Which the other location for some reason I liked more it was more small and intimate. This location is bigger and there is an outside patio area which is very pretty cozy! There are other local businesses connected. Service was well and welcomed in! We were able to try different flavors! The only thing that was off was a big bee flew into the ice cream and the worker preceded to fix our ice cream and cleaned the bee out once we walked away. There weren't any gloves used for fixing ice cream. The ice cream flavors are pretty good and also the cones. The parking lot is shared with other businesses but there is plenty of parking. Will def return this is my daughters favorite spot!

Got a cone which was HUGE and with hot fudge and we also got a create your own with sprinkles, kitten chips and fudge. I will say kitten chips were the best And a must get. The area had beach chairs to relax at night and had multiple restaurants with other places to try. Kids were playing outside too so a fun spot. I'd try more flavors next time but kitten chips are a must.

I LOVE FAT CAT CREAMERY! My favorite ice cream spot in the city and quite possibly in the world. I love the aesthetic of the place (cat-themed) and how local it is - I've met the owner before and the owner is very friendly. It's nice to support local businesses. I've gotten many of the monthly sundaes in the past and they're always a hit. Go Fat Cat!

Yes to the homemade ice cream! This place has a great option selection, not the typical flavors, which I like. They can over boozy cocktails and milkshakes, that was a plus. Waffle cone was my favorite. Can't wait to return to try more

This is the best creamery in houston, so much so that I earned a badge, lol. I had the whiskey butter pecan cone with hot chocolate sauce and added pecans. The service today was not as friendly as it's been in the past but the ice cream made up for it. The ambiance was lovely as usual just not a fan of them not having indoor seating, especially with this Texas heat. But I shall return. Love the Oak Forest area.

This time my bf got raspberry peach melba. Light and refreshing. Chunks of fruit. I got stone cold cream Austin (white chocolate with brownie chunks). Very good! Brown butter brown sugar waffle cone is huge and delicious. $12.99 after tax for our (2) single scoop waffle cones. Not cheap but a good treat every once in awhile. ---- We also sampled brown sugar cereal milk (not bad), almond cloud (reminded me of a sugar cookie. Wouldve been my 2nd choice), and milk tea with strawberry cake (last place).

Coco's is located in Midtown downtown Houston. Consequently, Yelpers should not be surprised the…read moreparking is mostly in paid lots, just like in every major city in the US--Cocos does not deserve to lose a star for this as in some reviews that brought down their average. You may order online, in shop through a tablet, or with a person at the register. We used the register because we did not see the tablet and did not want to order ahead online. The ladies who helped us on our visit were very nice. You get a number and they call it when your made to order food is ready. We did not have to wait long. There was medium to low noisy ambiance. It was deserted when we arrived, but they have relatively loud background music. While we were eating it got pretty crowded. Mostly a lot of young people in the middle of the day on a Monday. The inside is small, seating both inside and outside are limited and close together. One lady was studying with her laptop, but there are no plugs. The breakfast sandwich is customizable. We got it on a croissant and with sausage. The eggs had a unique texture and the sandwich a unique flavor that we could not place, but both were very tasty. We also wanted a crepe, but we split the sandwich and it was sufficient. We also got a small mocha and a decaf, both were ok to good. We would definitely come back again and recommend that you give them a try for a crepe or sandwich. It is sad that a few Yelpers brought down their average to 3.8 stars due to petty and unjustified complaints such as having to pay for parking downtown. Other complaints are not the business' fault such as periodic homelessness--it is a downtown area in the US, other cities have far worse homelessness than Midtown Houston and we saw none on this visit. Additionally, complaints about takeout orders are mostly petty. Takeout is never as good as eating at the restaurant and so customers should adjust their expectations rather than dock the business stars. Nearly every recent Yelp review for this who ate at the restaurant gave 4-5 stars for food quality and customer service. Like most of the restaurants in this area it is a pretentious yuppy style place with specialized food. Although not usually our type of place (we like down to earth hole in the wall places with good food or taco truck type restaurants), Coco's is a solid 4 star restaurant for the type of place they are and they offered a 5 star experience on our visit. Again, recommend you give them a try if you are in the mood for crepes or sandwiches.

New to the area and this was my first experience!! Food was delicious and service was great…read more Seating both inside and out but keep in mind it's a small environment. I had the smoked salmon panini and the peach lemonade both so good! I can't wait to go back and try the crepes
