My problem is that the burger and fries are so good, I cant' bring myself to order something else and the root beer is just the perfect compliment to the burger and seasoned fries. My quandry is great ... I have a pretty moderate appetite so I get the little Mo with cheese. It's supposed to be for kids but trust me when I say that the Little Mo combo is really enough for an average sized adult with a normal appetite. I love this hole in the wall burger joint. I only have one complaint and that's the wait but at least you know it's fresh. It really is amazing that they can alway get your order right, they prove it can be done accurately! The size portions are more the large enough and the food is served hot and fresh. One of the many areas were they shine is their milkshakes. The shakes are a little thinner than some place but at least it comes out the straw and some of their flavors are amazing. This a must try in Nashville. I know the city is known for its hot chicken but the burgers are the best in town. I recommend getting the "lil mo with everything". You can't go wrong. I had always passed different locations of Fat Mo's for years and never had the urge to stop by. The Gallatin Pike location intrigued me when I passed a few times and saw a line of cars. It's definitely no frills. It's a small shack with a drive thru which looks like it's on both sides of the building. There was a large menu that I perused while waiting behind just one car. The employee came out to take my order and he was patient when I told him it was my first time at a Fat Mo's. I ordered the Little Mo's combo hold the mayo. He asked if I wanted regular or seasoned fries. No brainer that I would say seasoned. It wasn't a long wait at all. I wasn't even there 5 minutes. The employee was maybe a little overly friendly but he did give me a menu to take home which was a nice touch. The burger was good. Nothing special but good. I did add cheese which was needed. The little burger was just the right size with all of the fries I had. The seasoned fries were yummy too. I had read on yelp that they were spicy fries but they weren't actually spicy. If you want greasy fast food, this is the place. We got the Philly Cheesesteak, Deluxe Burger, spicy fries and jalapeno poppers. The cheesesteak was good. The meat, cheese and grilled onions/peppers were awesome. But the bread was just ok. The burger was huge. Everything tasted good except for the actual meat patties themselves-- they didn't have any flavor. The spicy fries were not spicy at all-- but were still delicious. The poppers were ok-- we could have definitely done without them. Ok food & prices. There's nowhere to sit inside as it's just a stand-alone building but there's seating outside. I saw them on some TV show and how they take the burger patty and dip it into some kind of marinade while cooking....... I don't think any other burger places do that, except for Fat Mo's... So, after watching the burger show, I went ahead and decided to give it a try... A few of us went and ordered burgers, poppers, fried mushrooms, cheese sticks, fried pickles, shakes, fries and onion rings... Good variety to try different items from the menu. Stopped in this place while driving between Georgia and Kentucky based on yelp reviews. I am pretty sure it does live up to the claim of biggest burger in town. I did not have the super deluxe burger, only the deluxe. While this was a big burger it was not a world class burger. It could of had a bit more seasoning. Overall it was a good burger and well worth the price. The spicy fries were were a good side to the burger. The place only had two tables outside (it is a drive up place). I've eaten here twice now - first time I got chicken tenders. Took a while coming out of the kitchen (I know they make it to order though, so I can't complain about that), but they were incredibly salty. Almost uneatable. NOT a gourmet, hipster burger place...but that's ok. Everything about this place screams Sisco Food Services, frozen boxes of pre-made food...but you would be wrong! Sure I can almost guarantee they use frozen french fries, and onion rings etc. But I don't care. their burgers are made fresh and they are delicious. Spicy Fries are tasty and crispy. Fat Mo's use to have the best wings around. A couple months ago, I got an order that tasted horrible. They were smaller, excessively coated in breading and missing the typical spicy kick. In fact, they tasted just like that gross crap you order over the counter at a WalMart deli. So much so that I figured they must've run out and bought some pre-cooked crap from WalMart and re-sold it. Well, I gave it another try and at a different location. This Fat Mo's has consistently produced for me excellent burgers, chicken sandwiches and shakes. Really try the peach shake! I've got the butterscotch shake on my list for the next time my waistline can handle it. There are several sizes of burgers but even the smaller junior burger i prefer is still pretty large and it will be juicey with a nice fried greasy taste and usually done medium. Comes with the standard onion, tomato, and iceberg lettuce leaf trifecta. I would not call it a playful little pickle but those are usually there too. I actually prefer the fried chicken sandwich. If anyone is old enough to remember the Chuck-wagon that Dairy Queen used to carry in the 90's its very similar to that. A huge chunk of fried chicken on a buttery toasted bun with all the hamburger toppings. I'd recommend holding the cheese (they usually have provolone if you must) and adding extra mayo or if your taking it home try some thousand island dressing on it. On the down side the location can be cramped to manuever your car into as its a small lot and drive through only and service can get pretty slow. Its a small shop for sure usually just one or two people working really hard inside. They will come out to your car to speed things up if its not raining out. I also flatly did not like the fried mushrooms here. Button mushrooms in a sphere of rather plain batter that explodes into a watery juice, it was just was not my thing. Pretty good for a drive thru burger place, I had the spicy fries and the fried pickles and my other had the gyro. Very inexpensive and served very hot! The fries were really good. This was not was I'm used to when going to Fat Mo's. I got the deluxe with bacon combo and was grossly disappointed. The bacon was turkey bacon. WTF! Who puts turkey bacon on a cheeseburger? It was a quest. A quest of epic proportions. Think Holy Grail meets peace and happiness. I was on the hunt for burgers. Since making my way to Nashville I had yet to find a burger worthy of praise. There had been contenders no doubt, but nothing that got me excited. Nothing that made me want to undo that first button on my pants and let out a sigh of relief. I won't say that I found my grail here, but I will say that it was a damn good burger. I truly believe that the only reason it can't be the best I have had here is because you can't order it to temperature. Other than that, it was great. Most notably here though are the Onion Rings. I enjoyed the fried catfish sandwich after it being recommended from a friend. The fish itself was huge and dry/slightly over cooked, but easily masked by having all the fixins on it. I enjoyed the spicy fries that weren't spicy ( boo). The employees were all very nice, but we did have to wait behind two cars, who apparently didn't call ahead. My friends enjoyed burgers that they said were good, but nothing special. This is the perfect place to call ahead to have a hearty meal on the go or to take home. It's tough to try new places in town because I don't want to overspend on a restaurant burger, even though sometimes it turns out to be worth the gamble. It may look "iffy", but GO HERE!! These burgers are like the ones your dad just pulled off the grill. I will typically choose them over Five Guys (which is saying a lot!) If you're an onion ring person, or if you're not to be honest, the White Bridge location has the best in town. They are hand battered and fried to crispy perfection like they should be- none of this frozen nonsense. As far as burger choice goes, I always get the Little Mo. I'm not a heavy eater, so with onion rings it is usually still way too much food. The whole meal costs less than $6, so why not, right? The health inspection rating is great and the food and service match it. Here's a little side note proving how nice they are: We ordered wings that were accidentally left out. We called and they said to just tell them at the window and they would add it to whatever order. It was at least a week later when I drove through and they did just what they said they would.
