The chicken wings are next level! Carolina Gold is my favorite, but pick yours, they are all great. Tender, not greasy, perfect. Hush puppies are out of this world. If you've never been to visit your Southern grandma, this is how she'd greet you. The margarita's are delicious. A perfect blend of tequila, agave, and cointreau. Lots of great entrees as well. Can't go wrong with any, whether traditional or slightly experimental, they're all good. Great service, great bar, a great night out.

A total gem in the heart of South Bend. Food was more than supreme and the cocktails were carefully crafted with care and precision. Highly recommend the grilled carrots, deviled eggs and shrimp po'boy. Sooo many hits that you can miss.

For my Southern food connoisseurs, I wouldn't say this is going to hit the spot. For those less familiar, this is probably a great place. The good: You can definitely walk in without a reservation, it was pretty quiet on a Saturday evening. The servers are quick and friendly. I'd also say if there's one food item that was genuinely good, it's the hush puppies. I also enjoyed the mashed potatoes with the skin bits. The meh: The chicken sandwiches are alright, I've had juicier from fast food chains. I got the JFC, which was too large to properly consume. I felt it was trying to do too much with the pork belly in there. The bad: Jambalaya was oddly sweet. Do not order.

Came here on a whim. Vibe is super nice - lots of plants to make me think I'm doing something outdoorsy. Service was great. Menus (like the physical ones) could maybe use some reinvestment to match the vibe. Loved the tables too. Cloth napkins also would be a welcome addition. Food - best part by far. I was in town for work, and I when I can, I like to take my students out to lunch or dinner, I gave one of my students choices of places to go, and they picked out fatbird. Service was awesome! Attentive but not overbearing, I also loved the inside! Our food was delicious! We split the deviled eggs, I had the murica chicken sandwich with a side of macaroni, both items were very tasty and savory! I also enjoyed a mezcal cocktail as well, that was smoking with a touch of sweetness All around great experience! Can't wait to go back! If you are in the area, pay them a visit!

Wings and Jambalaya were excellent. Red Beans and rice were tasty but more of a gumbo w beans than red beans and rice. Very flavorful but soupy. Overall very good food.

I had the delicious Nashville chicken sandwich. I chose the Maque Choux for my side. The Maque Choux is a southwestern cream corn. The sandwich and side were amazing. The food was spiced just right and will leave me longing for more! I also had a fabulous Bloody Mary. I will be back Fat Bird to try more of the choices on their exciting menu! read more

Only place around here for Nashville Fried Chicken...and they do it great. Service is always friendly. Only complaint, and it obviously doesn't affect the score, is their reservation process is annoying. read more

We ate at Fatbird today before we went to see "Hairspray" at the Morris Theater in South Bend. We loved everything about this restaurant! The service, the drinks, the food...all wonderful. My wife described it as "slightly upscale southern comfort food"; I agree with her. We have already made a reservation here for our next Morris show in April. Way to go Fatbird! read more

If your hankering for some delicious fried chicken look no further than Fatbird. Biscuit was flaky and light and their coleslaw was a nice middle ground between vinegar and mayonnaise. My only suggestion, the Nashville hot could have had more spice, but I love hot. Nice job Fatbird, I will be back. read more

I've had the pleasure of eating at Fatbird twice since it opened. The food is so tasty, and the service was fast and friendly! So far I've had the OG fried chicken sandwich and the chicken salad sandwich -- both delicious. The laminated biscuits are *chef's kiss* I can't wait to try more things on the menu. Ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich, it was pretty good! Coleslaw wasn't very good. The Wedge Salad was different but it was good. Overall not bad but not all that great... I will skip it next time I'm in town. read more

I went to Fatbird for dinner this week on Wednesday night. No problem getting a table and the service was excellent. The red beans and rice was very good as was the side of mac n' cheese I got on the recommendation of my server. Unfortunately corn bread was not available but the biscuit was delicious. Brought friends to enjoy this place, it has a nice comfortable vibe. Had the OG fried chicken sandwich which was tasty. The fresh crispy chicken topped with an equally yummy pickle made a great meal! The laminated biscuit with honey butter is soooo good. First timers! Tried OG and Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, described as Chic fil a on steroids. Also enjoyed green bean and Mac n cheese sides and split a biscuit with sorghum butter. This was all washed down with a green tea and hibiscus tea. Service was friendly and fast. We're looking forward to exploring more of the menu! read more

I wasn't impressed with this place at all. Food was just so so I've had much better southern cooking down south. Second the music was so loud my entire group had to yell to hear each other. I left with a massive headache and sore throat from having to speak so loud Just to be heard by the group I was with. read more

I would like to preface this review by saying that my boyfriend and I ordered this from DoorDash, so this may have changed the experience we would have gotten had we actually dined in. We both ordered the Nashville hot chicken, Campanelle & cheese, baked beans, and mashed potatoes. All in al, the food was pretty darn good! Although, I would not order the campanelle & cheese again (because I don't think it traveled well), everything else was amazing in flavor. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was EVERYTHING I hoped for. It brought all of the right comfort with its flavors and size. The mashed potatoes were fluffy and surprisingly zesty! The baked beans were nothing short of amazing. If I were to change anything, I think the side portions need to increase to justify the price. I don't think it was worth $3 for a single scoop of mashed potatoes. I also wouldn't have minded an elevated fry choice as a side with my sandwich. Anyway, we will be back for the Nashville hot chicken! read more

Had a horrible experience here. The service was fine but the food was horrible. We ordered fried wings for an appetizer, vinegar chicken, and bacon cheeseburger. The chicken had the consistency of being boiled. Literally falling off the bone and didn't even have a meaty texture. the sides of potatoes, potato salad, and cornbread were equally bad. Ended up paying almost $70 for 2 people and had to drive to chick fil e so we could enjoy something decent. read more

Not impressed. Decided to try this restaurant last night. My jambalaya was luke warm and sitting a pool of water because the rice was not drained well. Hard to enjoy. Our son got Nashville hot chicken that was so hot that he could not enjoy his meal... and he likes heat! (too much cheyene?). The best part of the meal was the corn bread but that was not worth the $113 dollar bill. read more

Not good food. very limited menu. Way too spicy. Service poor. We wanted to order wine and tea but waitress not available at all during entire meal. She brings a drink with the check and tells us to take it in a to go cup! Won't be going there again. Probably out of business soon anyway. read more

This place didn't click for me. Decor was lackluster. Service underwhelmed. We were in and our way quicker than I would have wanted. I kind of wanted a couple drinks. The plating of the food made it feel as if it was a fast food style joint. Food ranged from meh to okay. Nothing I ordered I would order again. Drinks were only thing I would come back for. What a disappointment after seeing the high reviews. For better and fresher tasting pasta, go across the river to Macri's Bakery/Carmela's instead. The Navarre salad with candied nuts and crumbled cheese was perfect, no notes.

The weather was perfect so Manny's was open up to the outside so this open plan concept meant that there was plenty of seating and pets could join in the fun! I will make sure to bring my dog here next time. My sweet, little old doggy is very social so he would love to come here! There are soooo many huge TVs all around the space. According to their website, they have 30+ TVs, plenty of seating, and quite a few indoor games like basketball and darts. We didn't make reservations but also didn't need to wait for a table. Our waitress was new and inexperienced and forgot to get us ice water, coasters, and later on, silverware and napkins. I went up a few times to ask for these from the bar staff. So the vibes were great and the service was meh... how was the food? For drinks, I got the "Here Comes the Bloom" ($12), an Empress gin cocktail and my bf got the spicy pineapple tequila cocktail ($12), which I wasn't a fan of. But I liked mine! They also have a few sports-themed signature cocktails on their menu. The four of us then shared chips and a trio of dip ($10, paid by the other couple) for an appetizer. The queso was very yummy! If the chips were warmed up, this would have been epic. As for the mains, I got a taco salad with shredded chicken and no olives ($14). Not a healthy salad by any means but I thought the portion was good and the veggies fresh. My bf got the Latin salad with shredded chicken ($10 + $5 for added chicken). He had previously gotten the cilantro lime bowl ($10 + $5 for chicken) a few months ago and couldn't decide which he liked better. Our friends ordered a burger + kettle chips drizzled with garlic sauce ($13) and 6 boneless wings ($10). They liked the burger but thought the wings were just average. Overall, the food was above average bar food but we will definitely be back here again! It is a great location to watch a big sports game and the offerings from the attached taco truck look very enticing. Plus, they graciously gave us a $20 off $50 coupon at the end of our meal which was such a lovely gesture. I don't watch too much sports, but when I do, I like watching them in places like these. Overall, I recommend Manny's.

I must address the complete dining experience at this establishment. The parking situation presents a challenge, with limited street parking and a nearby garage. The adjacent performing arts center contributes to significant congestion. Upon arrival, the service immediately fell short of expectations. Despite waiting at the host stand for an inexcusable two minutes, multiple staff members passed by without acknowledgment. The evident understaffing issue impacts the overall service quality, though the present staff demonstrated commendable effort. The bartender, particularly, exhibited exceptional hospitality and engaging conversation. The menu execution was inconsistent. The bacon cheddar soup was exemplary - rich, well-balanced, with perfect consistency and depth of flavor, reminiscent of premium chowders. However, the macaroni and cheese was subpar, presenting as a basic preparation with a peculiar Cheetos garnish, lacking the essential qualities of a proper cheese sauce. The green beans demonstrated proper technique with their crisp-tender texture, complemented by generous portions of protein. The fish entrée was a pleasant surprise, featuring three well-proportioned pieces with a properly seasoned coating, accompanied by a modest portion of coleslaw and a citrus sauce that, while good, should be offered as a separate accompaniment. The aromatics on the plate enhanced the presentation considerably. The Old Fashioned cocktail displayed proper balance between spirit-forward notes and sweetness. At approximately $70 including gratuity, the value proposition is questionable. This place and the staff are great. The deviled eggs appetizer was really good. I could not decide between the Bahn Mi chicken sandwich or the Red Beans and Rice. Our server suggested I order the Red Beans with fries as the side, and then she offered to dress the fries with the Bahn Mi toppings. That was such a great suggestion and it really made the meal special. The Red Beans were excellent as well. My spouse had the Chicken Salad Sammie and it was outstanding too. I had such a great experience at a restaurant I had never heard of before. Our service was excellent. Our server even knew to split the checks without being asked, which was an amazing level of awareness I rarely see.
