Oxtails rice and gravy, yams and the best collard greens you will ever have.
    Evora H.

The best collard greens I have ever had. I don't know what or how he prepared them but they were perfect! Tender, flavorful and delicious! The oxtails were fall off the bone tender and covered in the most delicious gravy served over fluffy white rice perfection. The yams were right! He asked how was the food.. I admitted telling my husband I would work here just to find out the secret to those greens!! He said he gets that a lot! I'm so happy we made it over there finally. The peach lemonade was delicious sweetened just right to me. The basa was crispy and tender seasoned to perfection, the Mac n cheese was a little loose for me..I like mine hugged tight by the cheese but the flavor was on point! The cobbler was cool. I'm a peach cobbler snob, also the peach cobbler maker in my family so it's hard to give it up unless it is fresh out of the oven homemade crispy flaky crunchy crust with the light brown cinnamon colored syrupy peach juice oozing over the top and sides..The weather was perfect for the shaded outside seating option. I will be back guaranteed. I promise if you don't go you are missing a for real treat. Fatsoz comes from a soul food cooking lineage, he has the formula!

OMG! Oxtails = TENDER & amazing flavor. Super good greens, smothered pork chops w/ rice and gravy! Fried okra on point. Glad I pulled up after looking at the reviews. Definitely will be back. ***There's a couple tables outside if you're trying to eat right away.

I was in the mood for some soul food and decided to try Fatsoz Kitchen after seeing a lot of advertisements for them on social media. I ordered through DoorDash and it didn't take long for it to be delivered on a Friday night. It smelled really good and the portions are pretty big. We were able to make two meals out of each plate. Overall, everything was flavorful, though would ask for the fish to be fried lightly next time. I would like to try the ox tails next time.

I made a large-ish order for pick up just a few days in advance for a party of 15- (don't be me! Please give this small business more notice!) yet the owner did me a solid, and was able to accommodate our timing and budget with an amazing and generous variety of meats, sides, and a banana pudding pan of dessert! Standouts were the oxtails, smothered turkey wings, fried fish, greens, and cornbread. But seriously, EVERY bite was amazing for party guests that included many grown man appetites that left each satisfied and enough to take some home. I'll say it for the people in the back: High quality soul food should not be cheap! But the quality should always aim to meet the standard of your southern grandma and Fatzo's definitely exceeds the mark on flavors that taste like they put plenty of love and time into each recipe! I can't wait to come back with my husband and dine in with them!

Yesterday I ate Fatsoz kitchen for the second time. The first time I ordered a Basa fish plate with yams and mac. Yesterday I ordered the oxtails. The oxtails comes with rice, gravy and two sides. I opted to pass on the rice. Both times ordering was a breeze. I walked in and ordered the first day. I called in an order the second day. Both times it was easy, ready on time, and the young lady taking the order was absolutely pleasant. This is a family owned and operated business and you can tell! They warmly greet you when you come in and they take pride in the quality of your meal. Price: Lets be real. The price is fair for the amount of food and the quality ingredients. In comparison to other soul food spots, the price point is comparable but the AMOUNT of food is crazy. (We are a family that pays attention to serving sizes) my oxtail plate was enough for me and two kiddos. My husband may have been able to finish it alone. The basa plate was the same. I also want to add that the cornbread was the best I have ever had at a restaurant. Location: The location is convenient and there is sufficient room for parking. The location does not allow dine in. I expect as this company grows so will the space. Cons: I always try to find an opportunity for improvement. To be very frank, I cannot think of anything substantial. Most of the time when people package to-go orders it's thrown together, it leaks and it's a mess. The team at Fatsoz handed my meals perfectly packed, balanced and even in included a mint. Those thoughtful touches is why I love family businesses!

A lot people have been mentioning this place on TikTok and after seeing the visuals I wanted to come out here and try it myself. The place is located in a strip mall with lots of parking. We went inside and while there is no pace to eat inside you can eat outside in front of the tabs there are some table and chairs available. We chose to eat one of our orders there as I was starving and take the other order home for later. We ordered smothered oxtails with mac n cheese and potato salad as they were out of collard greens sadly and came with corn bread muffin. And to eat there we got the fried basa sandwich with fries. Be prepared to wait as they make it to order. We grabbed a table outside to wait. Our food was brought to us outside all packaged up nicely. We got To work on eating our sandwich. I liked it and hubby felt like it needed more seasoning and the fries were good too. As for the smothered oxtails, I thought it was good but prefer more gravy. The potato salad and corn bread were delicious but I did not care for the mac n cheese. I do want to come back and try their desserts and the smothered pork chops though.

Soul food takes time and when I don't feel like slaving in the kitchen for hours to get the amazing taste of home, it's nice to be able to go to Fatsoz for all of my soul food favorites . Every time I come into this place I feel welcomed as if I'm a part of the family. I wish they had the space to welcome inside diners simply because the vibes and the food is so good I'd love to stay longer while enjoying my food. This is a to-go only place with a few tables available for outside seating if the weather is right. There's lots of things I haven't tried yet but my favorites so far are; fried chicken, Mac & cheese, red beans and rice, collard greens, and peach cobbler! I encourage everyone to try this place and follow them on IG to catch their weekly specials like lasagna (another fav). I hope this business continues to do well as it is a great gift to have a soul food restaurant like this in Suisun.

Just tried Fatsoz Kitchen for the first time and their Smothered Oxtail over Rice w/Gravy was sooo damn delicious (Nice size portion too)! Collard Greens, FIRE! Chicken Wings, FIRE! Mac'n'Cheese, FIRE! Cornbread, FIRE! Red Beans and Rice, you guessed it...FIRE! I'll have to try their Fried Catfish or Basa for my next visit. Really regretting that I didn't grab their Banana Pudding or Peach Cobbler. Next visit will most likely be tomorrow for lunch! Not even playin'! Go check it out!!!

Easy menu option. Pick your plate and your sides. Desserts available. You want some sweet ass kool aid ~ man they have it! I ordered the cat fish and the smothered chops. The cat fish was perfect to my liking. Not oily, very light and moist ... nice filets. Portions of the sides were enough. I love they have the good good hot sauce. Crystal!!! And tartar available. The corn bread is dense; not too sweet. The pork chops are giving. Received 3 slices. And they were pretty thick slices. Not a fan of the rice. But the gravy had easy to like flavor. Only outdoor eating seats available for small groups. No shaded area. Food wait was about 10 minutes during lunch hour on a Wednesday. Sides were ok, wish they had the collard greens available. That's one of my favorites! Will definitely come back to try the other entrees.

The Crawfish Ettouffee has soooo much flavor, it's mind blowing. They're pretty generous with the amount of Crawfish, too. The sauce would have made the steak better if I had more of it. They should consider putting it into a container instead... food for thought.

As I moved now to Cordelia, I got the opportunity to stop by Huckleberry's in Fairfield. I was super thrilled that they actually had a patio. We were able to bring our pups with us and really enjoyed our time together. With that said that, I'm giving this place two stars. It was great that we got to be seated instantly I didn't have to wait because we were sitting outside. The outside back patio had a whole bunch of picnic tables and all of your utensils and extra ingredients were on top of the table. The menu you had a whole bunch of southern choices. I was super thrilled to see that they had fried okra and fried green tomatoes. Recently visiting Charleston, I really enjoyed their fried green tomatoes. So I said why not give it a chance here. I asked Jennifer, our waiter, what she thought about them and she said they were good. I also made sure to ask what the thickness of the tomato was because I actually like that flavor. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, and two double bloody Mary's. The bloody Mary's were delicious and they came out with bacon and all the garnishes that usually come with it. The fried green tomatoes, were horrible, it was basically batter, you didn't even get to see the tomato inside of it. The dipping sauce was OK, I usually don't do this, but I had to return it because I'm not eating dough! BTW... It also came with a really dirty nasty plate. Secondly, we ordered the fried steak and country gravy. We went for the side potatoes. And we asked for extra gravy. That dish came out pretty well and that's why it's getting this two stars. They definitely need to use a little bit more salt and pepper to add to their food for flavor. Thirdly, we ordered a second round of drinks, this time I ordered their jungle juice, which was huckleberry lemonade and vodka! It tasted water down and like there was no alcohol in it. Even though I asked for a double? At the end of the day, will I be returning no.

Within minutes, I knew I'd found exactly where I wanted to spend a hot summer afternoon. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between neighborhood tavern and craft beer destination. Vintage bicycles hang overhead, dozens of rotating taps line the wall, and the energy is lively without ever feeling chaotic. Whether you're catching the match, meeting friends after work, or simply escaping the summer heat, Rustwater has that welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay for another round. Following the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the Chicken Ciabatta from the specials board with a side of crispy tater tots, and it was absolutely the right call. The sandwich arrived beautifully presented on a perfectly toasted ciabatta roll with just the right amount of crunch. Inside was juicy grilled chicken layered with smoky bacon, melted provolone, crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and a flavorful pesto mayo that brought everything together without overpowering the fresh ingredients. Every bite delivered a wonderful combination of textures and balanced flavors. The tater tots were exactly what great tavern food should be, golden, crisp, and light on the outside with a fluffy interior. They became downright addictive when dipped into a combination of ketchup and a Ghost Hot Sauce that once they are out they are out adding a slow-building kick that complemented the crispy potatoes perfectly. As I enjoyed a cold pint from their outstanding rotating tap list, Spain put the finishing touches on a 2-0 victory over France, sending them to the World Cup Final. Great soccer, an exceptional craft beer, and a fantastic lunch, it doesn't get much better than that on a scorching summer afternoon. Rustwater has earned its reputation over the years, and it's easy to understand why. Friendly service, an outstanding craft beer program, elevated tavern food, and an atmosphere that invites you to linger long after the final whistle. If you're looking for one of downtown Fairfield's best spots to enjoy creative tavern fare, explore an ever-changing lineup of craft beers, and catch the big game, Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom deserves a place on your list. I'll definitely be back to see what's on tap next, and without question, those crispy tater tots will be making another appearance on my table with the ghost hot sauce, if still available, due to the company going out of business.
