So glad I finally got to try them out. Food was delicious. Although everything was fried. I didn't taste or see much grease. Everything was fried in clean oil you can tell. No burnt or browning around the edges. I was surprised by how well they battered their fillet fish. The coating is thin but just enough and fried perfectly. I like how they coat their fried chicken too. No over powering battered just a light season and thin coating for that crunch. Everything was flavorful and not over doing it. It's already fried so it was pleasant to enjoy. The portions are generous. The menu has a variety of options which I liked. I very much enjoyed my fish combo. The fish was cooked well. The jumbo shrimp was bomb! Juicy and huge. Service was nice. The lady upfront hooked us up with the sauces. So many I couldn't tell which was what. Today we had the sole and jumbo prawns with fries. The sole was fried soft as requested, and was really enjoyable! The prawns and fries were good too. Condiments included tarter sauce, vinegar, and hot sauce. The tarter sauce is like Thousand Island dressing but its ok. I wish the hot sauce was spicy hot. Its pretty mild but has a nice flavor. They have desserts that look pretty good - cake, banana pudding, etc. We didn't try any but will next time. The cat fish was "okay" but I only had one tarter sauce out of the 9 sauces they gave us, whyyyyyyy ugh so I literally had to go to the store just to buy tarter sauce such a shame. I called in my order for dinner tonight. I ordered a 3 way Combo. With Fried Sole Basa & Scallops, I also asked for the seasoned flour batter versus the corn meal batter because the corn meal batter is gritty IMO. What a difference in batter. I wished they would have a wet batter like fish & chips considering it's quite similar. Out of the fishes I chose the Sole was quite thin compared to the Basa which was a lot more meatier. The Sole was almost paper thin causing the fish to be hard IMO. The BASA doesn't disappoint and neither were the Scallops. Fries were good but a little salty this time. My overrating for JJ's is 3.5s!! Needs a little improvement here and there for me to give a better rating. read more

STILL, I waited fifteen minutes for my combo but, this Fairfield location didn't give you a bread roll nor cole slaw accompanying the traditional French fries for the three-seafood combo meal; Fairfield J & J Fish & Chicken only provided French fries, malt vinegar, and salt-that's ALL! Furthermore, Fairfield's three-combo seafood serving was skimpy, aka, snack-size whereas Stockton's three-combo seafood was A MEAL, A DINNER, and definitely NOT a snack! That can only be due to listening to customer feedback. If you listen to your customers you will always succeed and your restaurant business ultimately wins !
