It was a long wait for the order to be served but the fried chicken was worth the wait. The catfish is better than the basa & did i say their fried chicken is so good?! Lol They kept the same setup as buffalo wild wings which is cool! Staff are very friendly as well

We got an early lead on Mother's Day dining and chose to eat at Chey'las. We always feel like family when we come here. When we arrived, we waited a little bit to be seated and then waited quite a while before anyone came to see about us. However, once I got ahold of someone our server came right away. French-Fries was his name with a kind smile. He took our accurate order and checked on us throughout our time there. He even told us how long it would take for our food to come out. We told him to make sure they took their time and didn't rush anything. The sides started arriving first. See the pics. Then the fish came and finally the chicken with the cornbread and hush puppies arriving in between. Everything was delicious and hot! We love coming out to Chey,'las because their food and service are consistently good. If you haven't tried them, please do. You will thank me

Went on father's day for lunch and had one of their daily specials! Pulled up & it was PACKED! I didn't make reservations so I expected to wait a bit. Nope, with some luck we were seated within 5 minutes. Service was superb. Daisha checked on us (party of 2) at the right moments keeping drunks filled at all times. Now the fried chicken = YES! The thigh was a nice size. String beans brought me back to childhood dinners like my daddy use to cook. Ooooh weekend, catfish filet perfect with the breading season to perfection. Hush puppies perfect like everything on the plate. Crowded which is a good thing. A lot of families celebrating or just enjoying the day. No roo. In the belly for dessert but I'll try to leave room next time I pull up.

Happy that the legendary fried chicken from Chez Soul lives on. Everything we tried was excellent. Just be prepared to wait a bit for your food, as the chicken is made to order. Come hungry, feast, and take home leftovers! The location is pretty ideal as it is at the mall. The service was very attentive. I think the prices might seem a little high, but we think they are worth it for the quality and quantity you are served. This is something special. Lots of love goes into making the food.

We finally were able to try this spot since they opened. I got the Short ribs with rice and gravy with greens and side of cornbread. My wife got Basa pan fried with sweet potato and potato salad. My meal is okay but it needed more gravy. The short ribs was tender but it didn't rock the show. I'm not sure of preparation but I liked it to be smothered with gravy. My favorite item on the plate was the greens and cornbread. My wife's meal on the other hand was great. I loved how the fish was prepared and the flavor was on point I would go back for that without a doubt. The service was good our waitress was attentive and the place is spacious but if you been here when it was Buffalo wings the appearance hasn't change much. I would come back to taste other menu items.

We did DoorDash and though the restaurant is a town over from where we live, everything was hot and fresh when it arrived. The fried chicken was some of the best I've had in a long time. The outside was very crispy and the coating had amazing flavor. The baked beans were on point and the Mac n Cheese was solid too. My wife loved her jambalaya and hush puppies. Would love to try more dishes from this spot.

This was my first time visiting since the change of owners - everything was amazing. The waitress was attentive and quick to get our order. The meals are reasonably priced as well. I got the smothered oxtails, but will 100% get the catfish next time I go. I tried my mom's and was kind of sad I didn't order it (even though the oxtails were great). My kids (ages 4-8) can sometimes be picky with new restaurants, but they were begging for their leftovers as soon we got home! I don't live in Fairfield, but when I will gladly stop here again when I'm in the area.

Haven't had their food since they were in Suisun so I was extremely excited to hear that my niece wanted to have her bday dinner here. Their new space is huge! & like always the staff is very friendly & accommodating. The food, some of the best I've had. I don't always trust restaurant gumbo but theirs... tastes homemade! Everything from the fried chicken, cornbread, greens to the fried okra is delicious!

Ordered through Door Dash and it took awhile but it was worth the wait. I've been hearing about this place for a few months now and finally decided to try it out. The pork chop dinner came with macaroni and cheese and greens. The fried chicken dinner came with french fries and string beans. A cornbread muffin topped off both meals. Overall the food is flavorful and filling, I still have leftovers. I would love to try other items on the menu next time, maybe even in person!

Hubby and I finally decided to come and try this place out. We were able to be seated immediately once we walked in. The hostess took our drink orders while we reviewed the menu. Once our drinks were given, I place my order of pan fried basa, sweet potato fries and potato salad. Hubby ordered the short ribs, rice and gravy with greens. The place was quite busy so be patient as the food is made to order too. Our food came out and it smelled so good! I truly enjoyed my fish plate along with hubby. I tried the short ribs and while it was good hubby and I both agreed we prefer a lot more gravy on the meat and rice. They give generous portions that went got bring home leftovers. We also tried the peach cobbler and we enjoyed it. We preferred dumping it onto the plate to mix.

It was 1.5 miles away, but closing in less than an hour. I decided to go by and see it they were still serving. I wasn't really expecting much 45 mins before closing. I parked right in front, and saw they were cleaning up the dining room. So I asked the young lady if they were still open, and she said "Yes, c'mon in!" I ordered the fried chicken combo meal with mac 'n cheese and green beans. Total was $20.04. I thought it was funny that they price it at $20.04. It would actually look better if it was $19.99. How was the food? I was surprised. 35 mins before closing, and the fried chicken was still moist with a spicy heat to the flavor. The skin was lightly crisp. The mac 'n cheese was creamy. The green beans were just okay. The food was being kept in warmers. There's nothing wrong with keeping food in warmers as long as holding times are observed and proper temps are maintained. As I left both the young lady and the server thanked me for coming. Next time, I will have to return at around dinner time. Support Local Business in the SF Bay Area!

Everything great, but the oxtail was easily my favorite & probably the best oxtail dish i've had from a soul food restaurant. Tender and delicious. On to the sides. Mac & cheese, yams, potato salad, country gravy over rice. Again, all great, but the mac & cheese stole the show. We all know how hard it is to find good restaurant mac and cheese, and this one definitely stood out. Friendly staff & food came out hot and fresh. Sadly, I was very disappointed. Not only did every single person not present with a welcoming and friendly spirit, but rather it felt as if we were actually inconveniencing them by even spending our time and money there! I was confused, saddened, and disappointed. I have never stepped foot into an establishment where both the other customers as well as the staff and owners were going out of their way to make us feel unwelcome and as inconvenienced as possible. I have eaten at Michelin restaurants, "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants, establishments in underdeveloped countries, and other such places like pop-ups, etc. You couldn't even pay me to spend my time here ever again. Napa has a tradition and history of being welcoming, warm, and friendly, and this place just isn't it and isn't going to make it. If they want to have poor attitudes and treat those who keep them afloat less than kindly, then they will reap the benefit of losing their business. The attendants, staff, and proprietors were so incompetent, rude, and disrespectful that they even made the entertainment uncomfortable, embarrassed to be there, regret their decision, and have to ask everyone to be quiet and respectful. Like little children at Chuck E Cheese's and they still continued to act disrespectfully and embarrass themselves! The owners never stepped in to at the very least request some respect and civility! No thank you, Lil' Sista's. I say good riddance! Oh and the food? Meh. The portions are small, lack proper flavoring, and you can tell they were not fresh. Please do yourselves a favor and go get some real soul food cooking lessons before claiming you're preparing and serving them. Interesting to see who or what will replace them, because they're definitely replaceable.
