We didn't realize the table was assigned until an attentive staffer who tended the tables explained & adjusted things for us to accommodate our preference. The complete miss was that when we ordered, we weren't asked about where we wanted to be seated, inside or outside, table or booth. Inside, the AC kept it chilly. Loud music plays & 2 TVs are on. Seating is at metal table booths, wood tables, or the bar. Outdoors, you can sit under a roofed area or umbrellas. Fountain drinks are self accessible, but the lids were hard to find & are actually in the small space to the left of the dispenser. Sauces & condiments are easy to access. No extra napkins were available except by requesting more from staff. Our eats-- Tri Tip Buck with caramelized onions Smokehouse BBQ Buck Combo with Fries & Fountain Drink Kids Hamburger Slider Meal (added cheese) with Fries & Fountain Drink The food arrived hot & was very tasty, especially with their sauces. Some dings are that there was a notable delay in getting the kids meal after our other orders arrived, which as a parent, I would've preferred arrived first. We decided to get the platter for 2 from Buckhorn. They were a bit busy when we arrived so we decided to get it to go. While waiting we decided to grab a quick cocktail at the bar! James was the bartender this evening. Took great care of us. I was interested in one of the Bartender Choices drinks. He was very knowledgeable! I went with Victoria's choice: Bubbas Secret Margarita! It was bangin'! It was a key lime flavor and I could definitely tell on the first sip! Not only did James make sure we got amazing drinks but he learned we had already ordered food. He went over and let other staff know we were at the bar and to bring our order over once ready. While closing us out for our drinks James noticed that my husband had a reward available under their rewards program and let us know it would expire soon. We came here and decided to get dinner to go. It was quite busy and though there were a few open tables, we decided to eat at home instead. We ordered the Feast for Two special with two proteins (tri tip and ribs) two sides (tater tots and roasted vegetables), a Caesar salad, and corn muffins. While they were getting everything together, we went to sit at the bar area for some drinks while we waited. I highly recommend Bubba's Secret Margarita which was amazing! The bartender James took complete care of us while we waited; and even alerted me that I had an anniversary redemption for burnt ends that was set to expire in a couple weeks. So we had some burnt ends with our drinks and they are always one of favorite items to get. James is a great bartender as I have interacted with him for several years now at this Buckhorn. It's around $40 for ribs, sausage, pulled pork, 2 rolls or muffins and 2 sides of your choice. For my sides I usually do fries or onion rings or Mac and cheese. First 100 people get a free Tri Tip Sandwich (we were too late at 12:20pm), but if you missed out on the free ones, then they had them for purchase at a special $9.99 price. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a couple of employees at the balloon archway at the front of the restaurant, handed each of us a National Tri Tip Day sticker and told about the specials they had for this event: free tri tip sandwiches for the first 100 people, $5 draft beers and a chance to win free tri tips for 1 year. They were decently busy, so we opted to order at the outside pickup window and take our order home to eat. We ordered 4 tri tip sandwiches to take home ($43.21 with tax). When I opened up my Buckhorn Rewards App, I saw that I had an 1 year celebration reward (5oz Burnt Ends w/ Fried Onion Strings), I redeemed that with my order. At the ordering counter the had a QR code to enter their "Free Tri Tips for a Year" drawing, which I entered. Both their tri tip sandwiches and Burnt Ends were delicious! They had some side sauces (chipotle ranch and sweet fire BBQ) that I poured onto the sandwich and then I dipped the sandwich in their Au Jus which was a great combination. Camille is the star of the show. We showed up tonight with a line out the door and ended up at the bar. I was shocked to learn that this is only Camille's second shift behind the bar, but she managed to handle hungry, cranky diners like a pro. Great bbq! So first went on a Thursday afternoon and let me say it gets pretty busy, can only imagine a what a weekend looks like. So the line to order takes a while. That being said the wait time for the food was very short. My first time here and the staff were very nice and helpful. We had sat outside because there was no inside seating available but it was still very nice and they have outdoor heaters for those colder days! So for the food! Everything was super good! Honestly there wasn't a single thing that was bad. The tri tip was delicious, the chicken was well cooked and delicious, all the sides were extremely good. Only had a couple things off their menu but I honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything you order. They do have a full bar and you can bundle a cocktail or beer with your food. They'll bring out your drink to your table as well which is nice. And if you go up to the bar for another round they'll just bring it to your table once they're done. The bar does get full with people eating and drinking so maneuvering around them can be a little awkward. At least in my experience Keep in mind it is on the more pricey side but then again you're getting a lot of food and good quality food at that. I really enjoyed this spot. There's plenty of parking outside and it was packed during lunch time. We were a large party of about 14 and they were able to sit us down outside and turn on the heaters since it was pretty cold. This is a spot where you order then sit down. They then bring you your meal. they have a drink station and a sauce station with different bbq sauces and ketchup. I tried them all and it was all good! Sweet and spicy, hickory and a mustard one. The bbq burger was amazing. I even got some sweet potato fries as well and they were hot and very fresh. They did a very good job with all our food. We were driving through the area on a weekend and boy was this a popular spot. This was the first time we've been to this location, but we're big fans of Buckhorn. How can you go wrong with grilled tri-tip? I always get the tri-tip sliders and share them or have plenty for additional meals. The caramelized onions are a good add-on, and the small size of the slider is perfect. The Fry portion is generous and something we always share. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. The ribs were not the fall of the bone type. There was a +$16 surcharge for 2x ribs. It got tedious after a while and we had to get a side of BBQ sauce. The sides were great, especially the roadhouse onions. It goes well with the salad, giving it an extra crunch. Minor issues: They serve cold butter with the dinner rolls making it impossible to spread. For the entire meal, there was an un-bused table next to us. So it's not super formal but casual with restaurant quality meals and dining. I wanted to get a salad and I asked what the most popular is and they said the Caesar Pleaser is pretty popular. So I got that with tri tip and got it medium rare. It was a pretty big portion so I had leftovers and it was still really juicy heating it up for leftovers. The salad was nice and hearty. Buckhorn truly does have the best TriTip you can get from a restaurant, quick service or not. Super tender and flavorful trip and decent sides. I often stop off at this location on my way through the area when I visit family in the Bay Area and it's a great protein backed decently healthy meal. Wish I had more pictures to share, I'll throw some up next time I am in the area. The Tri-Tip is pricey, but come on, you get a ton and it's fresh slabs of aged beef... of course it's pricey, it's high quality grub!
