My son and I came to Buckhorn BBQ & Grill for their National Tri Tip Day celebration. First 100 people get a free Tri Tip Sandwich (we were too late at 12:20pm), but if you missed out on the free ones, then they had them for purchase at a special $9.99 price. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a couple of employees at the balloon archway at the front of the restaurant, handed each of us a National Tri Tip Day sticker and told about the specials they had for this event: free tri tip sandwiches for the first 100 people, $5 draft beers and a chance to win free tri tips for 1 year. They were decently busy, so we opted to order at the outside pickup window and take our order home to eat. We ordered 4 tri tip sandwiches to take home ($43.21 with tax). When I opened up my Buckhorn Rewards App, I saw that I had an 1 year celebration reward (5oz Burnt Ends w/ Fried Onion Strings), I redeemed that with my order. At the ordering counter the had a QR code to enter their "Free Tri Tips for a Year" drawing, which I entered. Both their tri tip sandwiches and Burnt Ends were delicious! They had some side sauces (chipotle ranch and sweet fire BBQ) that I poured onto the sandwich and then I dipped the sandwich in their Au Jus which was a great combination. I believed the tri tip sandwiches are normally $15.50, but were $9.99 for today's event, it was a great deal. Buckhorn BBQ and Grill is a great place for the BBQ meat lover. Their prices are not cheap, but the quality is there. They do have some deals on the menu and specials on certain days such as $10 for 3 fish tacos on Fridays. Camille is the star of the show. We showed up tonight with a line out the door and ended up at the bar. I was shocked to learn that this is only Camille's second shift behind the bar, but she managed to handle hungry, cranky diners like a pro. Always get the same thing here tri-tip and the crispy chicken salad. This restaurant gets five stars because it's consistent on the long drive home from Sac to San Francisco. Great bbq! So first went on a Thursday afternoon and let me say it gets pretty busy, can only imagine a what a weekend looks like. So the line to order takes a while. That being said the wait time for the food was very short. My first time here and the staff were very nice and helpful. We had sat outside because there was no inside seating available but it was still very nice and they have outdoor heaters for those colder days! So for the food! Everything was super good! Honestly there wasn't a single thing that was bad. The tri tip was delicious, the chicken was well cooked and delicious, all the sides were extremely good. Only had a couple things off their menu but I honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything you order. They do have a full bar and you can bundle a cocktail or beer with your food. They'll bring out your drink to your table as well which is nice. And if you go up to the bar for another round they'll just bring it to your table once they're done. The bar does get full with people eating and drinking so maneuvering around them can be a little awkward. At least in my experience Keep in mind it is on the more pricey side but then again you're getting a lot of food and good quality food at that. Came into today and ordered the two protein combo. Ended up going with some tri tip and a half rack. Saw someone eating the tri tip and it looked good so I went with it. The Mac and cheese was bomb.. Baked beans were okay. Although the thing I'm surprised at is this whopping portion of tri tip. I mean cmon...not only was the meal around 30$, but giving 5$ worth of tri tip is crazy. We were driving through the area on a weekend and boy was this a popular spot. This was the first time we've been to this location, but we're big fans of Buckhorn. How can you go wrong with grilled tri-tip? I always get the tri-tip sliders and share them or have plenty for additional meals. The caramelized onions are a good add-on, and the small size of the slider is perfect. The Fry portion is generous and something we always share. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. The dining room is small and was full.... We prefer outdoor dining anyway .... And there were plenty of seats. Will def stop again. read more

We've been here for meals a few times now. The service is straight forward walk up place your order with the friendly staff and you receive a number for your table. You can either eat inside or outside where there's plenty of seating. The food is delicious and perfectly cooked. I really enjoyed this spot. There's plenty of parking outside and it was packed during lunch time. We were a large party of about 14 and they were able to sit us down outside and turn on the heaters since it was pretty cold. This is a spot where you order then sit down. They then bring you your meal. they have a drink station and a sauce station with different bbq sauces and ketchup. I tried them all and it was all good! Sweet and spicy, hickory and a mustard one. The bbq burger was amazing. I even got some sweet potato fries as well and they were hot and very fresh. They did a very good job with all our food. They didn't make a mistake and all our food was brought out within 15-20min with no one missing a thing. They pretty good considering our large party. Great spot! This review is long over due and actually was at the request of my two sons who are 8&10 because this restaurant is a full family pleaser! Everyone leaves satisfied and full every time. It's a casual atmosphere often loud with the bar in the main dining room but the cocktails are always on point too. today I went for lunch I was needing a good amount of protein with a salad that popcorn would be the place to go. I got a California Caesar salad and added tri-tip to it for $6.50 more and I was extremely disappointed. it was shredded tri-tip and it was such a little amount that when I took a picture for MyFitness pal the app couldn't even detect that there was meat in the salad. We enjoyed our meal. We ordered the three meat, family feast $108 with tri tip steak, 2x ribs. The sides were broccoli salad, roadhouse onions and roasted vegetables. The family feast comes with a salad and cornbread and/or dinner rolls. The food arrived quickly. The rare tri tip steak was a bit chewy but had a good smokey flavor. The ribs were not the fall of the bone type. There was a +$16 surcharge for 2x ribs. It got tedious after a while and we had to get a side of BBQ sauce. The sides were great, especially the roadhouse onions. It goes well with the salad, giving it an extra crunch. Minor issues: They serve cold butter with the dinner rolls making it impossible to spread. For the entire meal, there was an un-bused table next to us. It is not appetizing to see dirty dishes with half eaten food on them. I felt bad for the crowd of people waiting outside for a table. First time trying buckhorn and I have to say, it was pretty good!!! I got the grilled bbq chicken and it was cooked absolutely perfectly and tasted so good and juicy! The sandwiches were also really bomb! And the added dipping sauce just made them better! Plenty of seating inside and they also had outdoor seating which is perfect for the nice days! They also have an open bar inside and were super quick on making our drinks. Food service was decent, they were quick at getting our food out and stayed very minimal with checking in but did check in a timely manner (we weren't like waiting forever for them to refill waters or get us the check!). So it's not super formal but casual with restaurant quality meals and dining. I wanted to get a salad and I asked what the most popular is and they said the Caesar Pleaser is pretty popular. So I got that with tri tip and got it medium rare. It was a pretty big portion so I had leftovers and it was still really juicy heating it up for leftovers. The salad was nice and hearty. Their cuts looks good and their sandwiches and sides too. Drinks are self serve and their bbq sauce was good. My tri tip came with au jus. Buckhorn truly does have the best TriTip you can get from a restaurant, quick service or not. Super tender and flavorful trip and decent sides. I often stop off at this location on my way through the area when I visit family in the Bay Area and it's a great protein backed decently healthy meal. Wish I had more pictures to share, I'll throw some up next time I am in the area. The Tri-Tip is pricey, but come on, you get a ton and it's fresh slabs of aged beef... of course it's pricey, it's high quality grub!
