Quick late lunch at this little neighborhood place. Amanda was our server and we ordered two Greek Salads and there was warm garlic bread with herbs and olive oil. We shared the combo plate, eggplant rolatini, a large meat ball and manicotti. I liked the manicotti the best- it was nice and creamy and delish. Does a restaurant have to be authentic to make it worthwhile? Not necessarily. If the food tastes good and the price is right, I'm okay with that. If two of you want salad, share a large order of what they call Greek salad -- which isn't Greek! It's got sliced green olives, tomatoes, feta crumbles and strips of boiled ham on top of romaine. For the extra dollar, you're getting a little more pizzaz than the regular house salad. While not on the menu, you can ask for chicken piccata -- which isn't really piccata. Sort of a variation of marsala, it's not bad. BUT you get an overload of pasta and only two small and thin slices of chicken. The dish needs at least another slice, even if they have to charge more. House wines are reasonably priced at $28 a bottle. We stick with merlot. And what's REALLY good are their $4 cannoli's. Fatto A Mano is a neighborhood joint, popular with an older crowd. Servers are friendly and on-the-ball. While not the best restaurant in town, I'm glad it's there for a quick and casual meal. read more

According to my Italian friend, Fatto A Mano means handmade rather than mass-produced by machine. Fatto A Mano is family operated restaurant in North Fort Myers and has been on my radar screen for some time. Flying solo, I stopped by and to sample their dish. Well, it was packed during Thursday lunch time. There were many pizza pies and pasta dishes like eggplant Parmesan and Lasagna, on patrons' tables. This is a good sign! My first visit, I just ordered an iced tea with Fettucine Shrimp Alfredo. The fettucine is well prepared with creamy Alfredo sauce and shrimps. I have the lunch portion and the shrimps is on the small size. However, it was delicious! The hot bread and sauce just make my perfect lunch! Ami, the waiting staff was friendly and amazing. The owners have done a really nice job of making the restaurant look cute & inviting from the outside, which is challenging b/c it's located in a run down, mostly abandoned strip mall in n ft myers that makes u question if nav took u to the right place. This place seems to have a following in n ft myers, especially w/the older crowd. It's very affordable compared to other restaurants & felt serving sizes were appropriate. Mostly pizza & pasta. This small family run restaurant is amazing! The ambiance is welcoming and the staff is so welcoming and friendly. 2 of my friends and I went. Everything is handmade and it definitely shows. The first thing they brought out was their soft breadsticks brushed either butter and oil with balsamic. Amazing, breadsticks tasted like they were fresh out of the oven, hot, buttery and soft. They were gone before I could take a picture. We ordered the garlic knots. I was expecting dough rolled up and twisted. Nope these were square biscuit looking, with just the right amount of butter, parm and seasoning. They came with homemade marinara that was tasty either way just a touch of sweet. 2 of us ordered the chicken and shrimp Alfredo with Penne and one ordered the chicken and broccoli Alfredo. The dishes checked all the boxes. The portions were large, the process right and we all had to get to go boxes. The staff brought us small containers with some extra Alfredo. We ordered the meatball Parmesan sub and a margarita pizza. The Margarita pizza was very good and the crust held up exceptionally well as we took most of it home and had it later for dinner. The meatballs were very good, but they served it on their homemade bread which is kind of like Foccasia the bread is excellent but we did not think it was appropriate for the meatball sub, needed something a little more substantial. Can you believe they brought this out and tried to charge me for it? This is supposed to be a margarita pizza with fresh tomatoes, and basil. It is burnt beyond recognition. The ambience is definitely "early strip mall". You are greeted by a very nice sign that reads "Pizza and Pasta". Prices are fair and there was a bunch of carry out orders handled while we were there, so I suspect the pizza is good (we didn't get pizza). Small North Ft Myers Italian restaurant. Have been hearing good things, so we decided to give it a try. Not much on ambiance, maybe 10 tables, and sort of a hybrid Italian restaurant / pizza place. But don't let the looks or location scare you away, it is a true Italian restaurant (all the basic dishes) and pizza. Sunday night at 7 (open til 8:00) was pretty full, one tell tail sign for the food to come was, that most of the customers were all from NY/NJ....(very talkative group in a small location). Bread was outstanding, fresh out of the oven with a great olive oil dipping sauce. Started off with a small pizza to really size up the place and it was really good with, great flavors (will be our takeout place going forward). I tried the Seafod combo and my wife the seafood lasagna. Both very good and at a great price, $18. Prices overall are reasonable.
