Worst sushi I have ever had in Washington State. I see some pictures and wonder if they are even from the same place?? Sushi rolls are super small and sashimi was microscopic. Not being dramatic... sashimi slices were like the size of my fingernail. Couldn't believe what was plated for me. California rolls had just a slice of fake crab instead of crab salad and it made the roll super dry and flavorless. It was so bad that I went on a sushi bender later that week and went out other places like 3 times to get my fix because I was so dissatisfied. Maybe they were having a bad day? We finally got a chance to visit this place - it has so many amazing reviews, so we wanted to try it out. Although we haven't tried any rolls here, we ordered combos. The fish was fresh but the main thing we got impressed by is how's everything was served. Another pro: they are willing to substitute items for you. Cons: a little dusty, so some cleaning is necessary. Also, we got disappointed by being charged for substituting items that have the same price in the menu. Got the Shrimp Tempura and California roll --I know, I know, it sounds boring but it's my go-to when trying new sushi spots not trying to get a tummy sickness ya know?! The Shrimp Tempura Roll in my opinion would've been better had it not had the greasy shrimp taste. I don't know if that's just due to frying and not letting it rest or what. My daughter said she "liked the Shrimp Tempura Roll" but said she wasn't a "fan of the California rolls imitation crab" , I trust her judgment since she's been eating California rolls since she was 2 and she's almost 9 yrs old now, so I'd say she knows what she's talking about. Its pretty typical for a small sushi restaurant; perhaps that's why its only 3 stars. Yes, the staff was nice, the food was enjoyable, the prices fair. But it lacked the pizazz or personalization in the overcrowded sushi market of south Snohomish county. I love sushi and have tried many of the sushi restaurants in the area but this is the only restaurant I've never gotten that fishy taste from. My absolute favorites are their Ichiban and Mill Creek Rolls. My husband loves the No.2 Roll. The Naruto Roll was a great alternative if you don't want/can't have rice! We also LOVE their Pan-Seared Edamame and their O-Toro (Fatty Fish) sashimi is like butter! If you go during lunch time, they have some great lunch specials like poke bowls and 2/$12 or 3/$15 rolls! The service has always been friendly and attentive - I love it when I don't have to wait for drink refills! On top of the great food and service, the food presentation is beautiful.. it makes for great Instagram pictures ;) If you're looking for sushi in the Everett area, you'll absolutely want to go to Fatty Fish. We ordered the squid salad, sandwich sushi (pictured), spicy salmon roll, and Everett roll. Out of the bunch we loved the Everett the most, but all items are good! The Everett is so refreshing and light whereas the sandwich roll is for those who want to experiment with their sushi. in comparison to the more creative rolls, the spicy salmon was ok. I didn't really expect much, but found that their selection of rolls whether signature or not was pretty limited which is why I'm only giving 4 stars. Service was very attentive and very friendly. The rolls we ordered were very fresh as they were handmade to order which is why the rice was warm and fish slightly stilled chilled. The spider roll here was the best I ever had, it had a nice crisp to it and the crab wasn't salty unlike at other places. If you love rolls, I highly recommend the No. 2 and the Ichiban Roll, but seriously you can't go wrong with any of their selections. I've only been there during lunch, but they do have signs indicating that reservations are recommended for dinner as they are taking COVID-19 precautions. My one issue is both our noodles were undercooked. I had the seafood ramen and my nephew had the Tonkotsu ramen. And we shared calamari which also was good. I usually don't like large ring squid but they cook it especially well and the mango spicy mayo sauce (I think thats what it is) was great. After seeing the presentation pictures here on yelp, I had to check out what all the hype was all about. Upon entering, all the workers greeted me and my plus one, with a warm welcome. We ordered 4 rolls and one pizza sushi appetizer. All the portions were not big but not small either. All the plates were decorated very nicely and it almost hurt me inside a little to ruin it by eating it!! Every time we finished a plate, the waitresses were very attentive and cleared the plates out of the way for us. Even gave us clean new small side dishes for us to use each time. The customer service was top notch and it seemed like we were at a fine dining restaurant. I can see the potential and giving Everett a big new hit! Why travel far to Seattle, when you can come here? Like everyone else, we've been anticipating the opening of this restaurant! I drive by this plaza everyday and I keep peeking through to see if they've finally open. I'm excited that I finally got to try them today! First impression: the restaurant is small, but very clean! We got into the restaurant as soon as they opened for dinner time so they were pretty slow. We were quick to be greeted by the sushi chefs, which set off great tone. The menu is pretty typical in comparison to other sushi restaurants in terms of what they offer and the price. The basic rolls like California rolls and eel rolls were $6-$7. But they had some rolls that were pick 2 for $10. We tried the Las Vegas roll, the shrimp tempura roll and the naruto roll to start. The shrimp tempura roll was delicious! It was crunchy and the shrimp was cooked just right. The naruto roll was fish wrapped in cucumber and wow was that good! It was very light and refreshing and the vinegar sauce it was drenched in just made it that much better. Next we ordered the salmon skin roll and the volcano roll and I would certainly come back for those again. The salmon skin roll was simple, but the salmon skin was so crunchy and that's what I want in a roll. For presentation and flavor, you have to get the volcano roll! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! You just get all the elements of salty, spicy, crunchy, hot and cold. It's a fried roll with spicy tuna, spicy yellow tail, and spicy salmon. It says spicy, but it was barely even mild. It just had a little kick but it's not like you were panting for a glass of milk. Also, since we came at a time it was slower, the sushi chefs were talking to us and giving us recommendations of dishes to try. We ordered the sashimi salmon belly and the medium toro. The fish was very fresh and melted in your mouth like butter! Very good quality fish! Overall, the service was great, friendly and attentive. Came in at about 530pm on Friday, November 17th, their second day of business. With all new businesses, especially restaurants, you can expect some kinks to be ironed out, but the one thing that will always offset these things is customer service. The restaurant has about 8 tables, mixed between 4-tops and 2-tops, and 6 seats(I think) at the sushi bar in front of the chefs and on this night it was full with some parties waiting. With it being so busy, we had to wait a bit for our first glasses of water, water refills, our food, and our check. But our server was very apologetic that everything took a while. He asked for our feedback on the food and was very friendly overall. On to the food, the sushi prices were pretty reasonable for the basic rolls, but the signature rolls were on the pricier side. We ordered the Philadelphia, Mill Creek and shrimp tempura roll... well actually, we ordered the salmon skin roll and they delivered a shrimp tempura roll, instead. I let the server know and he apologized for that and he took the salmon skin roll off our check and let us have the shrimp tempura roll. All the rolls were good, but again, the Mill Creek roll was $14 and was the smallest roll out of the three. Bottom line - I may come here again in a few months to see if changes were made or to try their nigiri, but I'd probably end up at Oceano or Sushi Zen before then if I had a sushi craving.
